"piece of shit im always workin on" love the comic relief, made my day better. glad to know im not the only poor bastard always wrenchin on his pile of shit! good video man
Fantastic !!! you should have your own show !!! found the information I needed and was entertained at the same time !!!!!!...........from all of us up here in Ohio.....your great ! you made us laugh................bobby and Joanie
It would be nice if you show how to remove the water pump pulley. On my 95 cavalier its pretty difficult to keep the pulley from spinning while you take out the three bolts. You're supposed to wedge it somehow with a screwdriver. Good luck with that! Its not that easy.
@fiddlinjd very correct! because just say you bump ratchet off something other, it will ground out, spark, blow a fuse, kill your alternator by small chance. either or its a great vid here, I have one close to the same on my channel, I never remove alternator though, just engine mount, then I jack up engine couple pumps. I do this to make it easier getting to it. I pull pump off in 15 minutes flat, no breaks in vid, but best info this man posted here! was getting the air out, showing the valve
@Luna7ick hey no prob, thanks for great vid with info!, I gotta sub over here. I do the same stuff myself. but I agreed with other guy, I learned in the past, well on this battery here your positive is away from the body, or frame, but always a chance, and well I learned the hard way, I use to pull positive off 1st, then one day as I was removing positive1st and my ratchet hit the strut tower, it arced like a mother f er, and even put a melt mark at end of my ratchet, so now I do negative 1st
@Luna7ick but hey if your carefull, and know what your doing, really no harm in what one you pull off 1st, aslong as you don't let ratchet hit anything other then plastic as your removing it. but my thing now is I remove negative 1st to avoid it from touching something metal by chance, just prevents me from anything of such happening to me. but hey I love the part where you show about the air bleeder valve, very great info for the doit yourselfers. your so right, about if you don't get air out!
Excellent video! You show what you are doing and explain why you are doing it. I feel like I could change it myself by following your directions after watching this video :)
I'm curious: where is that accent from? Everyone is taken by your voice.
Thank you for emphasizing glove use!!! LOL This was a great video, I have a 96 corsica same motor and couldnt find a video anywhere else and i ain't takin it to a mechanic -thanks for savin me 300 bucks!
Not a bad video and helpful but, The first thing you show is to remove the alternator and serpentine belt. It definitely should be noted that it would be better to remove the bolts on the pulley before removing the serpentine belt. Otherwise if you go removing that you'll have a hard time getting that pulley off.
This was an awesome video Luna7ick. I have a Cehvy cavalier 96 2.2 four door vehicle. I just changed my water pump also and i did it exactily howyou did it thanks again.. but i forgot to bleed the damn vent hole and my car overheated like hell.. LOL!! hiccup.... just kidding..... I'm going to make sure i check out all of your videos i'm only 20 years but I perform many fixtures on the car..... You're the best!!!!
and sorry not trying to troll you on your video. just would like the say the 98 cavaliers and newer are nice cars with great gas mileage. i just don't think there "Pieces of shit" in my opinion there great cars i'm getting close to 240k on mine and the largest problem ever with it was my altinator and it cost 170$ i think there a damn good car if you ask me but i also take care of my stuff and fix it myself and properly.
The 96 has a 2.0 engine in it not the 2.2 just for those who want to know to buy the right part for there car and not come back with a gasket for a 2.2 for a 2.0 engine. not saying your horrible at doing work on your cars but the information on it is vital to get proper parts. i watched your last video on this same car saying it was a 2.2 as well. Maybe it is a 2.2 but i'm like 99% sure its not since mine has the 2.2 engine and has 240.000.00 miles on it and biggest problems ever was Altinator
Luna7ick ...Thanks for posting a great DIY video. Very entertaining also. I have a 98 Sunfire and it has the same set up. I Did it a couple weeks ago and it's running great! This saved me BIG $! Plus it's done right and with the best parts. I did a the valve cover on the subfire because of your other video. Thanks again!
ok I replced the water pump following your video. Very realistic. It took two efforts as I did not tighten the bolts to the pump enough. No drips. My Ckeck engine continues to go on any other ideas. I also have an ABS light thhat clicks on after I exceed 50mph. No brake issues noticed.
@cupcake1556 can you take it to Auto Zone , they will put a test on it for free & tell you what the check engine light is for. as for the abs, I have no idea , is the fluid full?
@cupcake1556 My 98 cavs ABS light came on pretty frequently. After I cleaned the ABS sensors at the front wheels it stopped coming on. After a few months the issue came back. I bet that if I clean the sensors again it'll go away... at least for a while. Small debris from the breaks or road that gets on the sensors will prevent them working normally.
any suggestions on the same vehicle with a check engine light on. I replaced all sensors (O2, MAP, EGR, PCV, Thermostat, Spark wires, thermo collant sensor). I have this light on after 20 minutes of driving. When I shut off and restart engine light does not go back on. I have no discernable operational difficulties. Also problem #2 is that the ABS light goes on after 4 minutes of driving. It seems to click on. I have no braking difficulty.

For the ABS light to go off try cleaning your ABS sensors (especially on front wheels). It worked for my Cavalier.
