  • its music like this that makes me proud to be English, we made this world what it is today we had the world in our hands, its testament to Englands greatness that a tiny country such as ourselves could rule over half the world. If anyone wants to see this as politically incorrect then fine

  • richard lionheart 3 burn islam

  • The flag of the crusades! May God punish you!

  • e e edl e e edl e e edl!

  • Nice tune to play when you're getting the diploma! Well to help you understand, over here it's our equivalent of the Star Spangled Banner. It means a lot to the English. Some of us would like to hear it played in international sporting competitions, such as soccer instead of God Save the Queen. (same tuns as My Country 'Tis of Thee).

  • i hate the lyrics in our national anthem, god save the queen, oh come on, barely nobody in england believes in god and shrug i my shoulders when i here about the queen.

  • @mrmaxwellgeorge Most of the educated among us still do. Your lazy written comment is an embarrassment.

  • @aves205 well i agree, i tend not to put much effort in one i'm writing when it comes to you tube, by i still stand by my comment.

  • @mrmaxwellgeorge Fair enough, free speech n all that. Another English thing to be proud of.

  • graduation song?

  • @wirasatrya95 It just shows the close heritage that our two countries have with one another.

  • @aves205 i c

but just telling u that this song always play when my seniors graduate

  • Macho Man was here.

  • DrDerpwerth is right. The queen and St.George have nothing to do with England. They came over with the Normans who wished to oppress the English by implanting their culture into the Anglo-Saxons.

St.Edmond the martyr is England's true patron saint and Harold Godwinesson was England's last English king.

  • @HarryBodensson ...just like the Anglo-Saxons implanted their culture on the Anglo-Romans, just as they did to the Brythonic tribes..The English have and always will be, of mixed stock.

  • @aves205

Of mixed stock? That is just what you like to believe. If you're not Germanic then you're not English.

English doesn't describe people just born in England. English describes the descendents of the Germanic tribes that formed "England". You won't find Anglo-Saxon culture in Celtic lands so how exactly did we implant our culture on them?

  • @HarryBodensson I refer to the English, the inhabitants of the country of England, past and present. I am English, I was born in England. My paternal ancestors were most probably Poitevin or Huguenots arriving in the mediaeval era. No doubt I also have germanic and celtic blood in me from ancestors that lived in this country a lot earlier. In places that are ready to absorb it, you will find a plethora of non-domestic cultures. Dublin, for example was founded as a viking port.

  • @aves205

Oh right you mean the civic English. Just a name for any tom dick or harry who wants to call himself such rather than the ethnic English.

So Dublin was a viking port? The vikings didn't bring females with them so they must have married into Celtic families so there 'int much viking about Dublin to be honest.

  • @HarryBodensson And what does "Germanic" describe?

  • @aves205

North Germanics are the Nordic peoples. South Germanics are the Angles,Saxons,Frisians and Jutes from which I hail.

The English (ethnic not civic) are Germanic and are getting pissed off by phoney Englanders who on one hand claim they are English and then claim they have Celtic blood........

  • @HarryBodensson

    Eala Harry

Excuse me, but you fail, the Angles, Saxons and Frisians

were no South Germanics, they were Northwest Germanic

    tribes.

    wes þú hál broðor

  • @Waiguurd

    Right you are Booi.

    Aves I meant North west.

  • @HarryBodensson

I thouht so Harry, the South Germanic tribs are the Franks, Swebes, Alemanes, Bajuwares and so on.

  • God save the Queen! I vow to your country, England! -From the continent

  • Greetings from Turkey.

    Fuck France

  • tea guzzling cunts you fail

  • @RandyFTWify and are you some fat mcdonalds-eating cunt from America?

  • This is not the English Anthem. The English Anthem is Jerusalem!

  • hey, if I know that its land of hope and glory, I can play it with my violin

  • this is all american

  • Fucking Anglican cunts

  • @ProtestantThomas

    fucking religion, kills everyone.

  • @HelmutVillam

England should have became Calvinists like Scotland.

  • @ProtestantThomas you're a bit of a little shit arent you

  • Holy shit. England's national anthem is what they play at graduations? My mind = BLOWN.

  • This was written in praise of Britain not England.

  • @JamesDonnelly90 Irish Catholics = weakest race

  • This song believe it or not was used in the WWE as Macho Man Randy Savage's theme. That theme fit the athlete perfectly!! It was also used in the movie "A Clockwork Orange".

  • Wow, this sounds like one of those songs they play at graduations

  • @SwissNinjaHochstadt it is one of the songs they played at graduations

  • Beautiful hymn: ') will be there someday. England Live, live Europe! A great saludod rom Spain:)

  • Dont listen to waht others say. This anthem is beautiful! Greetings from your brothers from Germany ;)

  • What a moving piece. I hope England will survive the 21st century, all this islamic immigration and internal divisions worry me.

  • @theangrypersian Its not only England my friend, Many European Nations are falling for such a Evil religion.

  • @jediguardian1 And for someone like me, it is all the more obvious what actually is happening ... We Iranians lost our country to muslims ... Just like Libya and Tunisia recently did. Turkey's shaky secularism is also gradually falling to Islamists ... I hope Europeans will just ... stop being STUPID

  • @theangrypersian Agree, Hopefully we could stop the Islams before its to late...

  • OOOOOOO YEEEEAAH! ANGLO-SAXNESS COMIN' ATCHYA!

  • Beautiful flag and beautiful football

  • Flag o Genoa and northen Italy

  • @FGalaxie Very true. Adapted by England as our flag in the 16th century. Used by English knights during the Crusades in the 12th and 13th centuries. Protection money paid to Genoa by ships from London sailing with their flag when entering hostile Mediterranean waters. Black people in England feeling alienated by its association with far right extremists. All said and done, it's the flag of England.

  • our good GOOD AND LOYAL BRITISH BROTHERS!!! ^^ PORTUGAL AND UK haves the oldest ally treaty in WORLD!!! :D and damn it, we will alway honor it muccccccch ime more!!! world could be in war but english and portuguese we will be always friends! ^^ loool there's need a lot of fuckin Napoleons more to brooke our allied old treaty! XD no fu*kin doubt about that! XD

  • a chinga no es una graduacion

  • This isn`t an English anthem,it`s a British Empirical anthem, sounds very old and dated to me.

  • Wider stil and wider, shall thy bounds be set. God who who made thee mightiy make thee mightier yet.

  • Slovak Symphony play this well, except that in the second line, after land of hope and glory. 'mother'' of the free should be in eigth notes.

  • Ah...Cocky English people...

  • God Save the Queen is the Anthem of the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) Land of Hope and Glory is the Anthem of England, Scotland the Brave is the Anthem of Scotland, Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau is the anthem of Wales, Londonderry Air is the anthem of Northern Ireland =)

  • I knever know that Pomp and Circumstance was England National anthem! :O

  • We wrote it.

  • @dragonsofice it isnt we dont have a de facto anthem its a toss up between land of hope and glory and jerusalem

  • @dragonsofice Its called Land of Hope and Glory, and it was written for the Empire. Americans use it when they graduate, which is kinda ironic, they fought for independence and yet their future begins with the anthem to the British Empire. Hahahaa.

  • @TheLahness Yes! So very true!

At my high school graduation I was telling people this and nobody believed me. For me though, it did feel a little bit strange hearing a foreign national anthem being played in my honor...

  • R I P MACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE, from a luvin brit lol

  • @NorthEndSoul You're English? Strange, you don't use the correct form of "you're".

~~This has been a notice from the First Grammar Reich (Grammar Nazis)~~

  • @NorthEndSoul And I suppose being born in England to English parents doesn't make me English. What about Austrians?

  • @NorthEndSoul 1. My English, yes.

    2. HOLY SHIT I WRITE IN GERMAN AND THAT MAKES ME SO UNENGLISH AND A NAZI

  • R.I.P. Macho Man ooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • This song is often used at school graduation ceremonys in my country of the USA!

  • @88mroux Yeah, I always wondered the significance of it though

  • @88mroux Sees a bit odd that we send kids off into the world with the English anthem. lol

  • English power

  • this anthem is so awesome that it becomes our graduation music... literally.

    from america.

  • this is a real anthem for england

god save the queen is a monark anthem

  • LOVE THIS SONG MORE THAN THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER!!! NO EVEN CLOSE!!!

    greetings from America!

  • Graduation theme....?

  • @theangel123456789 Now the Americans know that they are being fed the ENGLISH ANTHEM when they graduate! Oh the hilarity

So their climbing to higher intelligence is marked by something English, how ironic.

  • God shave the Queen.

  • this is an actual anthem? Jesus i just know it from my high school grad.... wtf man?!

  • Comment removed

  • This song played at my graduation.

  • @AaronRowski ;)

  • Hello I ask you a question: Why when the squad plays in England's World Cup anthem that plays is the UK and not England?

  • ENGLAND !

This flag is awesome, better than UK's

    well, I'm Chinese

  • Just don't buy anything to America. Broadcast yourself!

  • This is my anthem. Fuck God Save the Queen,

  • @Gallers True Englishmen belive God as they always have, fuck you traitor! Long live Tradition!!! England cannot fall. But you can!

  • @Terrorist12341 True Englishmen can spell "believe". Anyway, Germany's better than this shithole we call home.

  • @Gallers Why would you say that?

  • @FusionWarrior I'd go into detail but I'm only allowed 500 characters, so I'll just say that it's cleaner, the people are generally friendlier, the beer's miles better and, in my opinion at least, the Bundesliga's more enjoyable than the Premier League.

  • @Gallers You found Germans to be friendlier? I found them generally ruder during my time there. Which countries you prefer being in is totally subjective of course, but, compared to the many horrendous places in the world, I think you'd struggle to justify calling England a shithole. Cheers.

  • Slava Anglii!!! Slava Oliveru Kromvelyu!!!

  • HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!

isn't this the song they play in graduation of high school????????

I DIDN'T KNOW THIS WAS THE NATION ANTHEM OF ENGLAND!!!!!!!!

  • @Mr2x41990 holy crap thanks, i forgot where i had heard that before. its always fun to sit through two hours of this. haha

  • @Mr2x41990 Your country is the spawn of Britain, never forget that.

Almost all of your culture is developed from the British, this is one example, another example is your language :)

  • @Ascensiam

Im not going to debate this with you because you know DAMN well America is absolutely nothing like your country.

I have respect for the English and I LOVE your language but...............wow..........

    anyways, peace and love brother.

  • @Mr2x41990 damn sure america isn't, i am from Denmark.

  • ._. Graduation theme......

  • Doesn't anyone get it !!!! This theme is all about the LOVE OF WAR !!! That s why 911 happened. The Crusades, William Wallace, The Jacobites, Crimean War, WW1, GET IT ! The batles in the middle east are still and will continue ! ! ! Wally

  • So happy to study in England - lovely unis (such as Essex, UEA, Hertfordshire, Loughborough, Sussex, etc.), lovely girls (I am the only Bulgarian in my uni who speaks positively about English girls). C'MON ENGLAND!!!

  • In My Opinion It Should Be

UK Royal Anthem God Save The Queen

    UK National Anthem Rule Britannia

    England Royal Anthem Jeruselem

England National Anthem Land Of Hope And Glory

  • @OBICLARKEKENOBI

I think the MOTD theme should be our national anthem. lol. But seriously, it should.

  • @OBICLARKEKENOBI My thoughts exactly

  • @OBICLARKEKENOBI its so complicated mate U.K royal anthem god save the queen definitely and god knows wots next

  • England and the English are great people, especially in Northumbria. We holiday in England every year and have always been made very welcome though the more south you go it becomes like spot the whiteman. All four of us home nations need to stick together it is us versus the rest.Proud Brit and Proud Scot.

  • @YARROWS Spot the Whiteman LOL ! It's like that here in U.S.A when you travel through Los Angeles !!!!!!

  • NORTHERN IRELAND!!!

  • ENGLAND!!!!

  • ENGLAND!!!!

  • England is awesome and the girls are amongst the finest in the world!!!

  • "Land of Hope and Glory" is not the anthem of England. It should be "Jerusalem"

  • @redxenos Yes it is - used many times in the Empire and Commonwealth Games until the PC brigade got a fright and hid under their skirts.

  • @balderdashandpiffle England does not have an official national anthem, but 'God Save the Queen' and 'Jerusalem' are considered to be its de facto national anthems.

  • Is this Pomp and Circumstance by Sir Edward Elgar???

  • @prehist0ry no its 'Land of hope and glory'

  • @prehist0ry Disregard the comment you received, while this is the tune used in Land of Hope and Glory, the tune itself is Pomp & Circumstance.

  • @CoquelandOv Thank you for the clarification. Now I understand. Thanks again.

  • stfu u farts... england rules and is the best so shut up u assholes fuck the rest

  • I ♥ UK

  • England has destroyed itself nowadays. Weak people like Tony Blair got into power and transformed it's once meaning.

  • northern ireland & england!!!!!

  • oh wow. can someone explain to me the tension between Spain and England?

    greetings from Texas

  • @jonjon1219 The English were one of the main causes for the fall of their empire. When I lived in Spain for at least a year, they called the British: "Piratas"... pirates in English. It's payback I guess. The Spanish (and the Dutch) were the main reason for the fall of our empire as well. If the Iberian Union had never existed, today Portugal would be completely different (in a much more positive way).

  • @AvatarMarxon90 oh wow. see, being in southern U.S. we don't hear much of how the english (british) did much of anything. other than the yankees fucking did everything. i hear more about the spanish influence here in texas more than i hear about the english. so i certainly sympathize with the spanish.

  • @jonjon1219 I honestly don't know much about the USA history, so I can't comment much about that. For that, I apologize - and I'll try to learn more about your country's history in the near future. Anyways, the main reason for the fall of the "Portuguese glory" was because Portugal was neutral in all European wars. Because our King died with no descendants, his nearest relative was King Philip II of Spain (his uncle). In 1580, the Iberian Union was formally instituted as "two crowns, one throne"

  • @jonjon1219 So when Spain entered a war, we obviously had to help them out. We had to fight against our oldest allies, the English (we are still allies, which makes of us the oldest alliance on Earth: 1383 - 'till nowadays) and the Dutch, and other European wars. Our neutrality in these conflicts, allowed the Portuguese to expand their Empire throughout the whole world. When this neutrality disappeared, the Portuguese Empire was automatically condemned to death.

  • england = stupid traitors!

    from spain

  • this song is "Land of hope and glory" ;)

  • If anyone knows, please explain what the national anthem when it was applied, because the British national anthem, sounds like another?

  • England is awesome!

  • larga vida al rey de españa¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • fuck england

  • I love how england's anthem is the version of pomp and circumstance... (graduation song) that theme music is so useful.

  • English pirates...

    Long Live To Spain

    Gibraltar Spanish... English Thief

  • @raquerbury shame you spanish pussys couldnt take it back then eh?

  • @Aaron2ownage We do not steal as the english men

  • Olivença Portuguesa!!!

  • @raquerbury Get over it. Gibraltar was ceded to the British in 1794 in return for the balearic islands and 20,000 gold sovereigns. Gibraltar was first conquered in 1704 by British and Hanoverian troops.

  • Country of pirates and corsairs... but i recognise that you have good music.
