I have to admit I find the theme appalling. Seriously - what kind of message does it send to people to be laughing at trying to murder someone? I think games can have military themes and all where the violence is in some kind of context, but moider is moider.
@martialtaichi It's a great game, but probably not the best choice for families with small children. It's just a theme in the end and I'm sure you can discuss it with your children so they're not turning into murderers by the end of it :)
I own this game and one of the problems I had with it is that if you have too many people the spite tokens can actually make the game take too long. This typically happens when people will boycott the player with the most spite tokens so they have to use it on the current murder attempt so that ultimately the spite tokens shuffle around too much and no one has enough to outnumber everyone else. We usually just play without the spite tokens in games with more than 5 people.
Sounds like great fun. I own the old Cheapass version, but have yet to play it. I think I'll give it a try though before picking up the deluxe version.
