She doesn't mention the supernova stage. I thought that when our sun first starts to die it will swell up to past the Earths orbit forming a red giant. Then will shrink into a white dwarf.

Dr. Michelle Thaller is one of my new heros... a splendid role-model for young women interested in science.
Attractive, well-spoken, educated, intelligent, yet casual and unaffected... all good things for humans to admire and emulate. This series is not only full of great content, it will serve as an inspiration to generations of new scientists.
well, the sun is just a star yes. But the stars are not really suns. That big white-yellow light in the sky is what our ancestors called the sun. Centuries later people found out there are more of these things.
@SpitzerScienceCenter You said that the smaller the star, the longer it will live, am I right? So the Sun is a big star, am I right? So that means that the Sun has a short time to live?
@coolscott30 its a medium sized star so it has a moderate time to live the sun has 10 billion years in its lifetime the sun is 4.5 billion years old do the math

I just have one question. How can a black hole pull in light? Does light have a mass? Great Video thanks for posting it!

I like them too. Airheads should be thrown down a black hole.

I read somewhere that the Sun is a type of Star. but are all stars Sun?
like
A = B

The word "Sun" is just a label or name that humans have given to our star. Yes the sun is a star, more specifically its a "G2 Dwarf Star".

Yes. In general, the smaller the star, the longer it will live.
