My mom got me the book "Become a Better You" years ago. I never read it. Just sitting there. I'm not a book worm, and it looks like a thick book. The biggest problem is this guy is supposed to be a preacher of the Gospel but again goes against the very truth of the Bible which he claims to represent. Osteen did not deny Jesus at all as the only way. He agreed with the caller just as he said. Christians need to listen ( for once ) and that is good enough. Did he have to speak louder for you? In viewing these comments I am reminded of the phrase "arrogance of religion". To believe that god has ordained one way and one way only to approach it is the apex of arrogance and hypocracy. The biggest problem is this guy is supposed to be a preacher of the Gospel but again goes against the very truth of the Bible which he claims to represent. The Church is a place where the people of God come together to hear the Gospel and receive teaching in righteousness not a place where believer and unbeliever alike come to get a motivational speech on living your life. Leave that to secular conventions not the Church of Christ.

Guys i don't know if you know FRANCIS CHAN but I admire this humble pastor for admitting he was wrong for entertaining his congregation with light messages without calling people with the same commitment that Jesus laid for those who want to follow Him,(Luke 9:23) I'm so sad that Joel never tells people that following Christ is not a trouble free life of health,wealth & prosperity.

Osteen did not deny Jesus at all as the only way. He agreed with the caller just as he said. Christians need to listen ( for once ) and that is good enough. Did he have to speak louder for you? His statement, "I agree with her..." is enough. The critics who are on the right who are born again are still yet ignorant of Osteen being used by God. Therein lies the problem. Osteen's gift is evident yet Christian critics refuse to be mature enough to see this.

I saw and listened to Joel Osteen last night. He has an incredible ministry of encouragement in Christ. He has never claimed to be a theologian - that is for others. Let us thank God for his very positive and uplifting messsages which are most certainly Christ centered and include a bold salvation call. We are like flowers in a garden different and each with its own beauty and worth yet all together we make a glorious display.

After becoming a Christian, life got tough! GOD started to separate me from everything and everybody that was familiar to me. The prosperity I received from GOD was and is SHALOM. Peace and absolute faith in God under ALL circumstances, even if it would mean, that GOD would not rescue me out of my troubles in life. My life situation doesnt change the NAME and HOLYNESS of JHWH. In viewing these comments I am reminded of the phrase "arrogance of religion". To believe that god has ordained one way and one way only to approach it is the apex of arrogance and hypocracy. You declare god is sovereign. Yet you limit your god to your one culural book denying god the sovereignty to reveal itself to others as it wishes in their own cultural book. That can't be right. Whose version of god and god's will is correct? What if god is an atheist? What if there is no god, but gods?
