heard someone say if you sand the sharp edges on the follower they work flawless, but you shouldn't have to do that to a "out of the box" mag. but it is the only 15 rounder around for it unless your willing to do a custom job with some suomi mags
for ONE, you have a gun which is notorious for quality control out of the box but with tweaking the jamming and feeding issues can be solved and TWO you have an equally well known unreliable poor quality control PROMAG magazine which 7 out of 10 have problems. Promag has always had quality control problems, and good luck with any kind of good customer service with them, they do not care. Im a beretta man but i have 2 hi points for plinking and after fixing the feed ramp they are fine. promag sux
I know for a fact that HP will never get into hi-cap magazines directly (over 10rds) for liability.
I've heard the same thing that the A3 works, but no one I know has one- once bitten, twice shy! I have seen them at the local fun shows for $15-20 new.
I still keep drinking the Pro-Mag Kool-aid and have the steel-lipped 10/22 mags now. that won't work in any of my Rugers w/o shaving the lips down. But they work OK in a TEC-22.
I also have a 995TS now which NEVER jams, but using factory mags.
still- a monkey could file down the place where it jams. the knick where it jams will give the place to gently file til it dont jam . ive done it on a cheap 9 and a .380 they never jammed again
from what i understand the first bullet has to be somewhat pointed upwards, not flush or else it will jam. i don't know from experience yet. i just bought one online with a factory mag and a 15 round pro mag. on it's way to the FFL now. i guess i'll find out soon enough.
Most gun manufacturers will tell you that one of the hardest things to make is mags. They actually have a separate team and spend serious time developing mags. That is why very few major gun manufacturers make a variety of mags for one gun and leave it to the after market makers.
Update on my comments from two months ago: ProMag has come out with a new 15 rounder designed specifically for the Hi-Point 995TS carbine. I bought two, they have a nice tight fit in the magwell, they lock in and release as they should. I loaded them up and ran a dry cycle test and each round chambered and ejected as they should, so it looks like ProMag has fixed the original problems.
reason why these jam is they was'nt made for the hi-point, they was made for another gun.. promag made some slight modification so they would lock into a hi-point, dont remember which gun specifically but anyway promag admitted this some time ago but still continues to sell them anyway.
@HiCapacity Hipoints are junk. Ive known ppl who HAD them and they are junk. Ive seen them jam and break. Hi Point = cheap gang banger throw away gun. I even heard a concealed handgun instructor say he no longer allows Hi Points to be used at his facility because of all the problems. You get what you pay for.
@Bigfootstalker You are way wrong! I have a 955ts car over 1000 rds NO probs at all No jams, i been shooting guns for over 30 years and i know what im tlaking about, hi point is a good gun! the only guys who say bad about them is guys like you that don't have one, i have a Glock a XD a S&W and think the hi point 955ts is just as good! the pro mags are JUNK not the hi point.
@Wildwestal Of course I don't have one. I choose not to because the 2 I have shot were junk. 1 was a .380 that jammed constantly, the other was a new carbine that the firing pin broke the first day. Maybe Hipoints are better now, but that experience ruined them for me. I'm not a gun snob who thinks you need a $1000 H&K, but I am very picky about firearms.
@Bigfootstalker Well i don't know the 380 and if you read the book that comes with the carbine it says not to jam a loaded clip in with out makeing shure the bolt is locked all the way back or closed or you can bend the fireing pin, hay each to his own i had a H&K 91 308 and think this new carbine is almost as good i know what you mean if a gun jams ill get rid of it like right now, had a S&W sigma 40 and it started to jam, i sold it fast.
It's too bad Pro Mag can't make a decent hi-cap mag for the Hi-Point 995 and the new 995TS. All us Hi-Point owners are wanting something more than just a 10 rounder.
It's odd that Pro Mag can make the absolute best AR-15 polymer mags (which they do - I own a dozen) but can't get the other stuff right.
Thats why youi just ahve to make your own. with a little trial and error I managed to get a 20 round mag and no jams yet and I have fired over 500 rounds through it.
Did you have to modify the mag lip or ramp when you combined the two mags? What spring did you use? I was considering having a local build me a couple and that info would help alot. :)
@greenvaepor Actually I did a cut and paste job, lol. I know it sounds funny but its true, take one mag, remove the bottom, then take another mag, remove the very top so it now sits flat. weld them together and smooth it out, find a spring that will work for what you want, ( I got mine from a custom spring manufacture here in the valley) then you have fun, it may look strange to some but hey you can spend twice as long before reloads, and the best part is each mag from Hi-point is rather cheap.
I have 2 of those Promag and they jam every time just like youre those 15 round clips are junk they were a waste of money I have never had the stock ten round jam just the Promags
Promag has made shitty clips for years. Their duckbill sks mags are junk as well. If people would stop buying them... then they would stop selling them.
you should stick to the original mags, I've heard that the aftermarket 15 rounders made by promag always cause jams. I just wish hi-point would make hi-caps for their guns.
lmao dude i hope ur home alone playin with live amo like that but its an easy fix my friend shave some of the clip down on the stopper and it stopped his and thats only with the hair trigger (those things r stupid)
Too funny , you probably know that there are supposed fixes out there but you would figure mags made for a particular rifle should work in it, loved the vid.
Maybe the problem is easily fixed? I wonder if the mag simply isn't seating deeply enough. Ponaz77 had to modify his to seat in the ATI stock (which has tolerance problems of it's own)
Interestingly my 995 never had a FTC until I installed the ATI stock - now it has an occasional FTE. I believe that when you start using aftermarket parts, the factory tolerances can be upset. I also think these problems can be fixed if we look closely for the cause.
@dwlcpu does the bullet get stuck in the barrel with your 10 round magazine?or any jams?is it the carbine or the magazine??please respond.thank you??

If u make it catch and stay in it will work way better unless u need to clean ur gun. That causes jams to. These guns have to be clean to work
MrVoorhees88 1 month ago
Get a 1911 15 round 45 mag. It fits in this if u bend up the little mag release it stays in
MrVoorhees88 1 month ago
u should use that carbine to put your camera out of its misery

Stick to factory mags bro. Buy 3 ten round mags. Better than 1 or 2 15 round mags that jam and lock up.

I have 6 of these mags (recent issue, about a year old) and they all work perfect in my 995TS.

I have read the new A3 Promag works ok. But I like stock stuff. Rumor that Hi Point is going to make a larger capacity mag for the 995.
How is yours with the original mag? Does it feed and extract ok? Fmj and HP?
