  • Looks clean without the spoiler, very nice.

  • Parking lot dents, I'd say more like jealousy dents...

  • "ladies"

  • wonderful

  • gahhhh damn that son bitch is hittin a lick!

  • I just hand an orgasm watching this black beauty rev is engine.

  • awesome sound!!!

  • What is the top speed of the "Pantera?"

  • Rear spoiler makes the car. Without it it looks stupid 60's.

  • @UnderMediKated couldnt disagree more, the spoiler spoils it.

  • ill translate the roar from this car as something like "dont mess with me because im badass"

  • Big Ass Girl

  • awesome car....it's a shame that the only model they're making now is some ugly crossover-looking thing.

  • The back of this car is just perfect! Clean, light, aggressive, elegant and soooo sexy!!!

  • i can see the big smile of the driver from here..dude what a sound that car has...i could listen to it all day

  • Yeah, even the standard exhaust system sounds 100's, to hear what quad weber exiting thru factory 180 degree exh. system on Pantera Grp4 sounds like, go to Wheelnuts; the most visited PetrolHead site ever. See/hear Ferrari 250GTO howling thru streets of Paris running all the redlights, 1 take, 1 shot. Awesome sound "Rendezvous." - Also 2x Ford GT40's racing down mountain pass filmed from minature, remote controlled, 2 stage jet helicopter camera platform. Vintage aircraft, racing cars & bikes.

  • the guy grinning ear to ear at the end!

  • Yeah, Ferrari's etc. sound different. Not like USA V8's. Crankshaft configuration different hence differnt iring order I believe.

Another good thing about Pantera's, compared to other so-called Supercars, they dont cost as much and you can afford to run them. Also on the racetrack. Very in-expensive & easy to get them TrackDay ready. You can squeeze big rubber under even the orginal 'Skinny Bodies'. I ran 345/35 x 15's with no problem before I went to the GRP 4 bodywork. Fun, fun, fun...

  • It's not even a car, it's a monster. A symphony of evil. And I mean that in the most positive way possible. A growling work of art!

  • Hands down, best sounding Italian car. yes, better than a Ferrari and a Lambo... PUT TOGETHER.

honestly, i feel Ferraris don't sound like a V8 should.

  • Wonderful shape and sound. A landmark car that looks as sharp and as a Ferrari or Lambo.

  • great car, looks better without spoiler

  • Pfft. Any lawnmower sounds better than that rust bucket.

  • i had a matchbox one of these as a kid, was my favourite toy car, never knew it was real though, fuq me this car is cool as cucumber - i assume its american, not many american cars do it for me, but this one is right up at the top of my 'youve just won the euro lottery and can buy anything you like' list

  • @utrapzab It's made in Italy, but has a Ford engine

  • @kinghomsar really? i suppose the name would give it away somewhat - what a car though

  • a guy in altona manitoba has one just like that very nice car indeed!!!

  • Yeah, I also took off the wing. It does provide plenty downforce track day when you got the speed up.I recall the factory quoted over 700lb downforce. Is that possible? - To get rid of my under-bonnet ( oops sorry; front decklid) hot air, I fitted a carbon fibre one with massive vents. Works great, & its 48lbs lighter, my carbon rear deck-lid is 68lbs lighter. All the GRP4 body work is now carbon, which helps the 'truck-like' weight they have. - SEARCH for:- Pantera Grp4 to see & hear mine.

  • I'm fucking jealous

  • 83pantera - I agree with you, why would you want a nasty wing to ruin the stunning lines this car has. Its like what Lamborghini did with the Countach. The original LP400 was a masterpeice and they quickly turned it into a mess. All classic wedge shape cars shouldn't have silly wings.

  • Agreed ... the spoiler destroys the lines of the car. Someday ...someday

  • it's the supercar that sounds like a truck XD

  • @ndyt There are some fast trucks out there, and I am not a fan of trucks.

  • @ndyt

Yeah I know, it does sound like a truck, or like shiit. Shame, this shape needed a real engine not that piece of crap that struggles not to die out at idle. Sounds like it's choking out a lung -- GARBAGE ENGINE.

  • @PentruRasaAlba, dought it is the orginal motor, which was pretty sweet for the day: 351 Boss with 4x two-barrel Webbers.

  • How much is a car like this sell for today? And whats the top speed and 0 - 60 on it?

  • @Joel0277

Sell for? The price of Supercars have been going up & down for years, but Panteras have stayed on a steady climb. They were very under-valued in the begining, but these days are fetching excelent prices & boy is there alot of wonderfull, affordable 'goodies' out there to enhance the ride. Very easy & cost effective to make these cars trackday competitive. "Octane" magazine issue 79 have a '79 GR3 spec for e65.000. I have seen GRP4 spec cars up for $99.999. They wont get that, but...

  • @ahambrama So if I were serious about buying one in the bets condition i can find irrespective of price where can i look a magazine, website? And were you saying it would only be 99 000 $ ? That isnt that high i was thinking 100 000 plus? Anyways thank you i appreciate you taking time to message me!!

  • holt shit how big are those tires!!!!!!!! does that take alot of modification or is that stock for GT5's or somethin?

  • You just don't hear anything like this anymore.

    It's a damn shame.

  • ah entendi... De Tomaso é o De Bigode...

  • To hear & see short clip of Pantera GRP4 breathing thru quad 48IDA Webers and exhausting thru set of factory 180 degree pipes; Goggle; detomaso pantera grp4

  • Its a GT5 so its running Campanoglio rims (cast in magnesium) 15x13-345/35 & 15x 10-285/40.

  • Sehr schöner wagen ! Was braucht der sprit? Innerorts ?

  • zero to ticket in 4 seconds

  • or sooner ;)

  • I saw one of these on the freeway the other day. Initially thought it was a Countache, but when I got closer I could tell that it was something nicer.

Funny thing is that the guy driving it looked alot like the guy in this vid...

  • if they call this the poor mans lambo, I'd love to be that poor man! Lovin' this car! I'd be mashin gears down 101 if i had this beaut!

  • @pixelsquad

Well, you might have seen me in a 1972 Pre-L, roaring down 101 and the PCH around 2002-2004

  • Man I would get into so much trouble if I owned one of these!

  • my favorite car ever made

  • i got to sit in one of those

  • My first ever comment on youtube - Dude, NICE CAR!

  • How wide are those tires O_O

  • it ain't no stock cam it that engine my uncle owns one and it don't run like that

  • The back reminds me of my favorite supercar, the marvellous Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 VT. I like the Pantera aswell,

    gr8 car!

  • they look just like a lamborghini jalpa

  • At the time they were the best engines. A Cleveland 351 was the shit for it's day.

  • Only in America can you buy a car, drive it for 200 or 300 thousand miles, and then complain about it breaking down.

  • Yeah, having a high power reliable motor sucks ass.

  • Yeah, that's why they used them in Cobra's and Pantera's for years.

  • Diablo or Pantera Pantera

  • git sum

  • I was expecting a high pitched wail, but it sounds like a hotrod!

  • courtesy of the all american v8

  • Yea, exactly! Italian Design, and American power!!!

  • good old fashion hybrid

  • is tha a winsor

  • When parking this car, I would take my time, enjoying every sound this monster makes, driving the neighbours crazy but dont give a damn heeeellllllll yeaaaahhhhhhhhhhh:)

  • Where's the big huge spoiler? no GT5 is complete without that!

  • The rear spoiler was always just an option, even for the original GT5.

Personally I don´t like the huge rear spoiler:

Beside the unnecessary drag it creates, the spoiler gives the clear original shape of the car somehow a pimped proll look.

  • But that was the 80's man, that look was in :D

  • @acalthu Peter Stormare had unpimped this DT Pantera =p

  • what a car, sound, lucky. tks for posting

  • Argentinian car

  • saw 2 yesterday at the track. if you think this sounds good, you should hear them scream past you at 100 mph!

  • Crazy Engine xD

  • If talking about chassis and handling overall a Pantera ran fairly better than any same period stock Ferrari. This was the genuine

sport driving enthusiasts'rating in the 70es.

Alas no engines were available for De Tomaso

to be inserted into such a beautiful bodyshell

so the Chevy or Ford engine were mandatory choices, owning reliability and cheap service as distinctive aspects.Basically they got power by huge displacement and not from techn.sophistication allowing high revving.

  • Probaly my top 1 Dream Car!

Someone give me an idea of how bad the over-heating issue with it is??

  • Overheating is easily fixed. The biggest one is getting all the air is out of the cooling system. If there is still a problem replace the stock fans with modern fans that are move more air.The stock fans are okay for most cars but are a low cfm.

  • De Tomaso didn´t improve much in the 20 years building the car - exept one thing: the cooling ;-)!

The cars build in the 80´s are not that bad anymore, I can stuck in a traffic jam (90´s F or 30°C) with the AC on and no problems so far!

  • @rikbcool

Yeah, mount the fans in the 'pull-thru' rather than 'push' position. But right, the main problem is to get the hot air out. The orginal 'skinny-body' cars didnt even have ANY bonnet/hood vents. The ones in my carbon fibre hood are about twice the size of the vents they fitted. Car was released much too early. Lots of bugs unsorted. But what a car. Nothing like it out there, value wise hey. To hear/see my PANTERA GRP4 with quad Webers & 180 degree exhaust; SEARCH:-

    Pantera GRP4.

  • It was a lucky guy who brought off the show room floor back in the day, what a buzz to wind it out for the first time.

  • I wish I'd had the chance of even testing a DT but alas I hadn't - among several GT cars I owned I would have been really happy to drive a burbling big V8 ...

How is the handling ? A guy who used to race

a GT3 (the lightest tuning class in the late 70es still daily driveable on road) told me

the Pantera had a better handling than the Daytona, besides being more reliable overall.

    Greetz.

  • Not about V8. I own a Pantera w/ just a 351 Cleveland. This is a mid-mounted V8 race car so stiff, inches off the grnd w/serious hp on each side of ur butt cheeks; straight torque 2 the wheels. It hurts your back after a while though. It's more about the layout of the car n' the Italian designed .

  • ya forget how Ford engines smoke ferrari and porsche in Le Mans dumb fuck. your ignorant!

  • detomaso and ford had a VERY good relationship with this. and on the plus side, on the very rare occurances of somethign breaking in the engine, parts were readily available, and inexpensive. and damn fine gorgeous cars too

  • hopefully, the blocking of user Sorin1381 works! I am tired of all his dumb comments just spoiling this commentary-thread! :-(

  • trop belle..

  • YOU are the idiot here - crappy ford engine? - you must be some Honda luvin bonesmoker - just leave.....dont go away mad just go away and jump off a cliff.

  • You sir, have just proved yourself to be a real goose.

  • hahahaha a musce car engine is not better than a "real engine"?

i won't even argue back... i'll just sit here and let you look stupid.

  • awesome car, Supercar looks with old school muscle sound, fell in love with these since i was a kid.

  • Amen brother!!

thats what my dad always says!!! LOL

  • so badass!!

  • goose skin sound

  • fucking dumbass. better engine? that doesnt even make sense...... bigger you mean?

more cubic inches just means a bigger explosion which tehcinically SHOULD be more power... but since the power must be transferred to the rear wheels... its different. a normally slow car with like 5.0 gears and rear posi can be fast as fuck.

the popcorn like sound just means its got a big cam, which means the explosions are more spaced out.... which means its meant for higher rpm's... which means its FAST

  • stfu that sounds amazing

  • You lucky, lucky bastard :P

How much did this cost you?

  • Zna se sta je De Tomaso a sta Yugo...

  • this must got lots of hp

  • spacetoke,

You must a little generation x'er used to driving around in a dodge neon with shitty oversized exhaust pipe.

This car is from the era of real muscle...not gay assed whiny little engines.

  • what a sound!I love it!!:)))

  • wow!!! that sounds like a powerboat!!! I love those high angled exhausts, simply amazing design!

  • do you mean the 3D Pantera concept by Stefan Schultze? Impressive job.

  • they r makin a new pantera concept :P

    cant wait 4 it!!!

  • I love the sound of old sportscars! the pantera is a actually a very good lookin car

  • AWESOME sound...really.

Is the exhaust standard or aftermarket?

  • It's an original stock exhaust, but the rare GT3 Specs, with the less restricting Y-divider in the muffler and (surprisingly) road legal in Switzerland because it was original from the factory!

    We measured once 109,something dB(A) :-O

  • and what is hanging in the air in the right above corner of the video? Looks like another GT5 as well:)

  • Sth about the handling ?

  • what about the Audi S4 in the backround? Thats a sexy car too...

  • if your a secretary.

  • okay, I know the S4 pales in comparasion to the pantera, but come on, its still sexy...

  • if you have a De Tomaso Pantera for sale then i have a ford rs200 for sale

  • you're definitely right

  • the supercars in the 70's and 80's were more beautiful than the cars today

    even a better sound!

  • Wicked.

  • damn i want dis car

  • How much for 1 of them? I'm in Aus.

  • good luck the last one built was in the 70's if im not mistaken, bargain bin you could probably get one for about 30,000 american

  • panteras were produced from 1971 till 1992 but they stoped importing them from italy to lincoln mercury dealers in 1974, tus making 71-74's the most commin panteras. Later Panters like this gt5-s were imported privately. The gt5-s drives like a different car, but reglar panteras handel like italian super cars.

  • I have one thats has cutsom work for about 80,000 U.S. there a hard car to come by

  • i have one for sale

  • yeah it's fucking beautiful

  • my fucking god!!!

  • what a titanic monster that is........beats all hyped up ferrari engines by sound by far!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nothing looks as rude as a pantera

  • no Elvis shot a Stutz, cause it didn´t want to start up...

  • yeah and it ricocheted off the steering wheel..i saw the car a a Las Vegas car museum

  • Elvis Presley shot his Pantera.

    Fucking arsehole.

  • Feine Pantera häsch da, en Gruess :-)

  • Hermoso, el puro sonidito es para intimidar!

  • Belo vídeo.

    Um ronco sensacional.

    abs

  • v8 sucks! should check out rotary engine, especially the quad rotor, they fucking scream and wicked!!!

  • that car would put anything you own to shame

  • hey, just look at his name. Is that a Windsor or Cleveland

  • The original GT5`s, 1980-1985, were equiped mostly with the Aussie Cleveland and the GT5S, from 1985 until 1989, with the Windsor 351.

  • ahhh

  • why r you talking about rotory engines and your name is skyline 2nd only a 20b 3 rotor could handle a v8 like this you must not know what this car is

  • simple, i just wanna challenge the idea tat v8s are the ultimate engine like someone suggested here. Sould check out some facts, e.g. 1/4 miles and 0-300km runs among them...you'll be surprised by 6-cylinders and rotary engines.

  • yea my turbo 2.3 ford mustang is always jokes by the big v8 guys ( until i turn the boost up to 20 lbs and leave em

  • put anything i own to shame? fuck off!!! U don't even fucking know what's a quad rotor engine. Do some homework about engines.

  • haha. Dude, turn the keyboard courage down a level.

  • lmfao, keyboard courage. nice

  • you keep reading your rotary magazines, and keep saving those pennies, one day you too can afford to buy a car. You'll hopefully be a lot less angry when you don't have to catch the bus with your mum.

  • That just sounds heavenly, beautiful car, making a beautiful sound, V8's are the ultimate engine type.

  • Wunderwerk aus Italien mit Dampf aus USA,ein Ohrenschmaus, Gruesse aus der Ostschweiz .

  • ford V8

  • offf diyorum be abicim

  • such a nice car Thanks
