Hi, thanks for your comment.

The artist is Max Crook, the inventor of the Musitron (the distinctive instrument you can hear throughout the song). This song was also accidentally pressed on to the B-side of a few copies of Del Shannons "runaway" on London Records. I used to have the Snake on a U.S. import on Big Top Records (a white Demo), but let that go when I found this London Demo.

Remember years ago hearing this on the b side of runaway on london records as a misprint any idea how many were made like that.

I had heard as many as 200 had been pressed before they realised.

Do you know if there is any way of idenitfing these with out listening.

I imagine it is probaly worth a fair bit if you have a copy.

It depends whether the info in the run out groove is stamped or scribed , assuming that stamping would have been part of the pressing process, that might be an indication, maybe? Sorry not much help, was I?
