  • Everyone that thinks this video is "ridiculous" and "blown out of proportion" is wrong. DEAD wrong. I have Melanoma stage 3. There's NO SUCH THING as a safe tan, no matter whether you get it outside or in a cancer tan bed. Your skin turning darker is NOT healthy, it's DAMAGE, get it?? Good for your skin?? C'mon!! Be real! You want Vitamin D so bad, TAKE A VITAMIN PILL! You're not doing it for the vitamin D, that's just an excuse you use, it's just vanity pure and simple. Please don't tan EVER!

  • And there's no scientific link that UV exposure is related to Melanoma. Because most melanomas are found where the skin is least exposed to the sun. Chew on that for a minute.

  • Visit these websites for more information. Hopefully you guys will learn the truth about the tanning!

    tanningtruth . com

    sunislife . com

(youtube wouldn't let me put links)

  • The derm industry wants you to think that tanning is an absolutely TERRIBLE thing, when it's not. I'm not encouraging anyone to go out and tan, but I want YOU to be informed about the sun and ultraviolet exposure and how it is good for you and how things (like this video) is blown WAY out of proportion.

  • Third, there is such thing as a safe tan. Our bodies are SUPPOSED to tan. It is NATURAL. It is not skin damage. It is a NATURAL process. Having a base tan is like having an SPF 20 barrier on your skin. Do you know that more people that do NOT tan have a much higher risk of melanoma than a tanner? It's true.

And also, you take a risk with anything you do. And doing too much of anything isn't the best for you. But this is a VERY negative add. The benefits of tanning OUT WEIGH the risks by ALOT.

  • i'm a tanner. And I'm a tanner for multiple reasons. This video is absolutely ridiculous.

First off, Everything and everybody in this world would NOT be living if it wasn't for Ultraviolet radiation.

Second, Tanning is an AMAZING source of Vitamin D. Vitamin D is such an important vitamin. It helps prevent MULTIPLE forms of cancers, Multiple sclerosis, ricketts, and studies are showing that it also helps slow down the progression of the HIV virus.

  • Thank god I dont tan anyway. Y'all should be happy with whatever skin colour you have.

  • i tan everyday and this makes me really think about it . . . . ..

  • I just wanna show this video to all the tan bitches at my school and ask them, is it seriously worth it? Is being tan for a few months worth looking old, having a higher risk of skin cancer, and possible death? I like to think most would say no, but you can never be too sure. I blame Jersey Shore.

  • I know this is a ludicrously petty addition to this completely sincere and profound video, but also, fake tans don't look good! They look a mess. What's wrong with a nice, pale complexion anyway? English rose, anyone?

  • GTL ?

  • Vitamin D will prevent 90% of the cancers out there

  • @U2Berror *look at tanning salon to my left, gaze over to shoppers drug mart on my right*

vitiman D tablets are cheaper, and safer :)

  • that was kinda creepy!

  • Tanning is both unattractive and unhealthy.

  • tanning is for degenerates. all the best fashion models are pale like coco rocha, raquel zimmermann, sasha pivovarova, and jessica stam.

  • RIIGGHHT?? Well i got news flash for ya! I know sumone who has tanned all their life and guess what!! they are finnee.. not everyone can get it.. think!

  • @sexymisexy Cancer isn't guaranteed, but-premature aging, wrinkles, and looking like a leather bag are.

  • @sexymisexy I guess one can use the same argument while talking about tobacco and cancer risk. I hope you see where this is going..

  • @sexymisexy Here are some facts for you: Studies have shown a 75%increase in the risk of melanoma in those who have been exposed to UV radiation from indoor tanning before the age of 35,use of tanning beds by young people aged 18 to 39 years increased their risk of developing melanoma by an average of 41 percent, use of tanning bed before 20 years of age or more than 10 tanning bed sessions during their lifetime double their risk of melanoma.

  • @sexymisexy I like had this friend and he like uh played russian roullette all time. He said it was realllllllllllly like fun you knoooooooooooow. He didn't die from it. So Russian Roullette must be a safe game.

Your logic is as flawed as your grammar. dermatology. ca Get the facts

  • @sexymisexy Fine. It's up to you. It's like a game of roulette. Go ahead. Take a chance. "think!"
