@000shankar, you may not care for the music but there are lots of people who get pissed off with your communal mind-set. This mindset is so blinding that it is not even allowing you to see the subject matter of this video. Boss this is about Pt. Mansoor, his music at the backdrop of diversity-rich Mumbai. This is not a video enumerating various castes and communities. If you don't care for music, nobody cares for it here, but at least don't disturb others musical bliss.
This is glory of Indian Classical Sangeet I will not call as Music its Sangeet. Please preserve this for generations to come. Please allow people to download so that it will get spread to grass route.
come on, then why do u say: indian classical? why not shastriya sangeet? that's how it is called. if u want to say in english, say it indian classical music. :D
dear mr.shankar..this was just the prototype and there is final 10 minutes. In the final version we will definately include the great Ambdekar and his influence in India..the diversity of mumbai set to Mansur saab magic
Great and glorious music! But the video - almost half an hour of Mumbai, and not a SINGLE image of Babasaheb Ambedkar, not a single reference to Buddhism. It is as if Dalits and Buddhists do not exist in Mumbai.
@000sshankar000 So sorry for that. Perhaps the one who made this video didn't know dalits and buddhists are different than everybody else. What an idiot he is to shoot random ppl around without even a single tag in reference to any community!! Who cares about the music anyway?
Listened to this countless times..so sonorous and such deep hypnotic rendition...wish could listen to the master himself..singing it. i am a novice to hindustani dhrupad music and love it. do u have anything on pt. shivu taralagatti (sitar) a deciple of panditji? in any case a whole lotta love for the post..
Waves lashing on marine drive.. the chawls of tardeo (?) Shyam Benegal as Pt. Mansur ! :) I wish he could also do a movie in Dharwad, Pt.Mansur's native. More episodes ! Thanks, excellent contributiuon !
A very beautiful video. Thanks video maker.

Were there other episodes made by Shyam Benegal in this series?
LeanJedi 2 years ago
Very touching! Only a genius like Shyam Benegal could have done it - putting three geniuses together.

The first episode does not work well here. There is a problem with the video. Could you please rectify the problem? I would be grateful.

PuLa Deshpnade in his book "Guna Gaieen Awadi", mentions this episode regarding Pandit Mallikarjun Mansur.
I was amazed to see this here, at the same time not surprised, knowing now it came from genious of Shyam Benegal.
