@BeckfieldsessionsTV Hey man, seeing them close the first night of Rockwerchter '03--after Bjork and Radiohead-- was one of the most religious experiences of my life. For a time post-bar lounging at my friends house meant losing space and time as Everything Everything painted the room and sent the walls rippling into the ceiling. Glad you like it. It sounds just as good in Philly and NYC. Best
These guys are friggin amazing. Underworld is no doubt one of my favorite house electronica house bands. Check out there albums! They make good house
Jimmy Fallon has no idea who they are, does he? Ahh well...
And to be fair about the "cheesy" aspect of this and Scribble -- they are dambed catchy hooks, and the band needs some public hits to keep them "relevant" and selling records. @theplaneshift big ditto on if the boys are liking what they do, to he77 with the rest of our opinions...
@chrisnoaro1 I agree: it is cheesy, and I prefer Dubnobass and Second Toughest....but you can't deny that these guys are making the music they want to make, and I'll always respect them for that. Watching Karl put his all into this track makes the world seem right.
..someone needs to tell Underworld that there are fans outside of NY and CA. I had to travel 1,400mi and 780mi to see them the last two times. I live near Detroit, so it's not too much to ask that they come here.. grrrr!!!!!!!
I love these guys so much. So happy I finally got to see them @ HARD Haunted Mansion this year. I hope they come back to Los Angeles soon. So much energy!!!
@acidhi I'm sorry that you are not familiar with a vocoder. Karl is singing live lead vocals through a vocoder throughout the song. Rick sings live backing vocals through a vocoder during the chorus, and there is a pre-recorded female backing vocals track for the chorus by Esme Smith.
@digjoeyt i know what electronic music is =) electronic sequences from computer - it's ok (you can never tell do they do something or not), but vocal... it's prerecorded too. You think it is real because in some moments you can hear Karl's realtime vocal above pre-recorded one.
There's no lip-synching.. the tracks are prerecorded but not the lead vocals!! They also add live guitar and synths live!!! It's what electronic music is!!
I would of loved to been there and the show dis weekend in LA. Fuck you craziesthorse don't get up set since your a god damn good for nothing glory hole for prison inmates. ( they use no lube on your very used up asshole cock sucker)
@theprimarycolour they're from the UK, where there is GOOD music. I've been a fan since the early 90s. Their song 'Born Slippy' is my favorite of all time. Its a shame the U.S. music scene keeps this kind of music in the underground. Screw Hip-Hop!!!!!!!
the guys are an incredibly awesome live-band. best live performer ever (to me).
but @ crazyhorse: this is just a tv-show. it's not possible to act & play in the same way than on a huge stage. think u can't compare this appearance to a live concert...
YOu didnt pay money to see them so ...whats the problem? most people lipsync and have for the past 30 years at least..and whos to say he isnt singing? He looks like hes doing a fine job to me. Good, fun performance to me..
@craziesthorse Karl isn't lip-synching. There are live effects on the vocals and some overdubs on the backing track but he is singing live.
Problem is, the essence of Underworld live is completely lost in this setting. Loud, in a big sweaty hall with proper lights etc is what you really want. That, and for the band to return to the old continuous mixing etc.
Finally, I wouldn't wind yourself up too much about this 'selling'. I don't think Underworld shift a huge amount anymore.
I love this song!!!!
