My classmates and I have written to various state representatives and the state attorney general. None responded. Its been over a year, since this incidence. All we have after our years of sacrifices and hard work are financial debts and unemployment. In my opinion, this is all politically and financially motivated. Chicago is possibly the most corrupt city in the United States, as stated by Mr. Fitzgerald.

The academic staff at Olive Harvey College awarded me my grades, which indicates mastery of their nursing program. I was unsuccessful with the HESI exit exam. I was made aware of the exam 2 months prior to graduation. An exam that Olive Harvey College utilized to protect their own pass rates

Olive Harvey College implemented this exam only as an obstacle to prevent other and myself qualified classmates from taking the NCLEX or graduating. This strategy shows only one design, and that is only to give an artificially inflated pass rate for Olive Harvey College. Which to me, indicates Olive Harvey College lacks concern of the success of their students, but is only concern in protecting Their own pass rates.

How? For example, 37 students completed the program.  Out of the 37 students who took the HESI Exit exam only 5 passed. Out of the 5 who took the NCLEX RN exam (licensing exam) four passed, and one did not. Now, Olive Harvey can advertise that they have 90% NCLEX pass rate

They don't advertise first time NCLEX test taker pass rate, or that 32 who completed the program was left behind. Nope, they don't count the attrition rate; they don't count second time NCLEX RN test takers. According to the State Licensing Department you are allowed to take the licensing test up to 12 times within 3 years.

Olive Harvey will not even give you the opportunity. Doctors don't even have it this hard. Its not about the school being concerned about safety of the public. If we were not safe we would have been kicked out of the program, we would of never been able to complete any of course. As many hours working at various hospitals for over two years, our skills were always tested; most of us have been working as practical nurses for over two decades.

But Olive Harvey College is using this exam to deny others and me who have SUCCESSFULLY completed the academic program the

opportunity to sit for the licensing board..

It all boils down to Olive Harvey College not having confidence in there

own academic program. They are trying to bolster their NCLEX pass rates

by eliminating me and other classmates from the test pool. If they have

legitimate reason to question me and other students' ability to pass

NCLEX, then why have I passed all of their nursing classes? If I had any unsatisfactory performance I SHOULD have been weeded out of the program long before the final semester!

The company Evolve bought our HESI from its creator Susan Morrision who also stated on their website the purpose of the HESI Exit Exam, and that the faculty must be held accountable for the abuse of the exams
