  • I've been doing comics for a bit now and I'm curious as to weather felt tip pens work better then the old school fountain pens because I've been using fountain pens for most all of my work and I've never tried out the felt tips.

  • @ryankakashi i published 6 comics even if im 13 so litsen i should say that for inking you should use a little something called a rapidograph it runs around 15-20$ and its basically a pen u fill with ink and u have loads of different things to use with it ,but is no fountain oen

  • hello my name is rebecca I found your link I am just starting out attempting to do comi strips. I was told I could use sharpie markers to begin with and yes I know they fade in time. but right now cannot afford the india ink. I found your videos informative thank you so much.

  • where can you buy all those things?

  • well... i use both mechanic pencils and normal wood pencils.. Mike mignola does that to, he uses normal pencils.. it dipends on the artist i think XD

  • Lol naughty ruler spank

  • This is really helpful but why doesn't Expert Village put their playlist videos in order?

I love the easy to understand presentation of this presenter.

  • oh yeah ...this helped me alot what brands i need to use lol use paper and pen and oh btw ruler

  • i feel like i learned so much! so i have to use pencils , pens and paper to draw.. COOL!! @_@

  • Pedophile...

  • any art supply store will have blue pencils. or even craft stores.

  • y is using a blue pencil makes a different from a regular pencil?

  • @rainbowconvers Because with a blue pencil it will show that the picture is in the first stage and might need improvements. When it is ok you can trace over it.

  • @MetroArtyom2033 well i guess, but right now im only using a pencil for my sketches

  • @rainbowconvers Yea i don't use a blue cause i'm only on myrough sketches. Nothing serious yet.

  • @MetroArtyom2033 ohh, I do really sloppy sketches. But my pics still turn out grate :)

  • Where do you get the blue lead from?

  • @raulrules12 its easier to erase.

  • @raulrules12 nope, you paint it with the dyes you need

  • that ruler tap was sexy

  • nope, i don't think so

  • Th motion that he did with his hands at the beginning of the video was gay. Good vid tho

  • Finally NOT a moron video from EV!

  • a quality video from expert village!???

  • good vid. but one thing i'd like to comment is that you never mentioned why you use blue pencil. why? for the benefits of the viewers, with the traditional printing press camera, blue pencil could not be captured or will not register. however, if you use scanner as we use to do now, blue pencil will not work.

  • @pagkabolingitjud i guess its for sketching as the normal color pencil when inked over kind of shines through if ya get what i mean.

  • hi , any suggestions for blue mechanical pencil ?

    size , tipping and brand?

  • where can we get the blue pencil

  • Felt tip pens are quite convenient. But don't forget that the traditional dip pen is handy too and gives a good variety of lines.

  • why i can just see the text and othe things in the back....usually the text was on the ground...damn

  • why dont you show to how to make one

  • @s1d3k1ck13 because it said comic supply not how to make a comic strip

  • where can i get the blue pencils?

  • Great vid! :D

  • i thought i nid to use fountain pen

  • i made on called jason the crazed insane killer

  • I've been trying to make book like diary of a wimpy kid but not make a kind of copyright it's ...Called Diary of a Theatrical Kid.

  • good video! helped a lot. all i have is a HB #2 pencil and crayola colored pencils. nothin all, "how did you get that?" or "how much did that cost?" lol and i have a crapload of paper.

  • que camisita

  • where u get that pencil with the blue led!??? lol

    i use prismacolors tooo

  • You can get them at most art supply stores, and even at some business supply stores (like Staples). I would suggest looking for something called 'non-repo' blue, which is a type of pencil that cannot be picked up by scanners. This way you don't have to really worry about erasing all of your pencil work after inking (unless you plan to colour your original work). You can also sometimes find blue lead for mechanical pencils at places like Wal-Mart around the end of summer/beginning of school.

  • kay awesome thanks!

  • Yes, you are....

  • i am what?

  • my art teacher uses those markers o.O

  • Many teachers do, which tends to lead a lot of artists to using them. But I find the smell of them is just too much, so I mostly use tria markers (which are very similar and can be refilled, so they cost less in the long run) and copic markers (which are more expensive, but can also be refilled). Just keep in mind, the teacher isn't ALWAYS right because what works for one person may not work for everyone.

  • cool tutorial and tips. you can also use a non photo blue Prismacolor pencil and draw lightly with it so when you scan your ink lines the non photo blue lines wont show up on it^^.

  • why do we need tracing paper? pls. answer back i really need the answer

  • you need it so you can copy the drawings over and over again so that your drawings stay consitent.

*sorry for the bad spelling :P
