OK, SERIOUSLY?! Why are y'all saying that the Houston Rockets is the worst team to ever make to NBA Finals? I mean, if anything, y'all woudn't be saying that 'bout the Seattle Sonics, Washington Bullets, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks, or Orlando Magic when y'all should! In My Mind (since I've been a die-hard Rockets fan since my 2nd oldest brother was born) I think the Rockets were the best team (with little star power) of the '90s to run vs. the Bulls! And 'Dats Da Truth! HOOTIE HOO!!!
otis thorpe was one of the players traded for Drexler.
Mad Max was "on the team" per se, but he only played one game in the playoffs. He was too upset that his playing time had been cut down, so the Rockets sat him for the rest of the playoffs, and then parted ways with him in the offseason.
It's a damn shame Mad Max could never get his mind right... He could have been such a good player, but he was always in trouble off the court.

Hakeem and an aging Clyde. Cassell was the only other respectable player on that team. Elie and Horry were scrubs who rode the coattails of others to get their shots.
Who else did that team have? Mad Max? Slowtis Thorpe? LMFAO.
id say robert horry was in his good years actually when they where winning championships...the bad years where soon to come though when he left the team...then he really sucked...but i would say he was good in houston that three point threat!
I nominate the 1990's Rockets as being the worst team ever to win a championship. Talk about a boatload of scrubs given a free pass when MJ retired and the Soncis choked.
The Rockets gave the MJ Bulls the most difficulties in that era. They were one of the few teams to have a winning record against him for a while. Rockets actually had a tougher time of it against the Sonics than the Bulls. Simple- Rockets sort-of contained MJ from exploding on them/Bulls had NO answer for Hakeem. Sonics knew how to defense Hakeem.
Also, MJ did play the year of the Rockets 2nd championship :-) Even though he was rusty, people conveniently forget about that.
Please...Miami Heat are the worst team to ever win. Dallas choked and Wade played the best he'll ever play in his life. And you wanna talk about a boatload of scrubs??? Miami had no business in the finals.
"I nominate the 1990's Rockets as being the worst team ever to win a championship."
Yeah, okay there buddy. Try a 6th seed beating THREE 60ish-win teams in the West, then sweeping a 57 win team in the Finals. Uh huh, a boatload of scrubs given a free pass.
Although last I checked, Clyde and Hakeem were in the HOF, so who knows, maybe people who actually know about basketball think they're worth something.
Go shit on a team that deserves it, like the '99 Spurs.
Shut up you whiny bitch. I understamnd Houston is a fairly pathetic city, especially for a sports fan, and the Rockets really haven't done much else in their 40 year history, but that's no reaosn to get whiny with me. Now dump the sand out of your vagina and get your head straight, you fucking Texan...
whats wrong with Texans? Oh I can think of one city that is actually worse that Houston in sports! I know you are thinking what city could be WORSE than Houston in sports!? Salt Lake City, Utah my friend. I know they beat us in the last two years in the playoffs, but have they won a championship, no. So technically Houston is a better sports city than Salt Lake City.

the rockets and bulls with micheal would have been a hell of a series, but we would never know if those same rockets team would have won

i agree the heat are the worst team, but not for ur reason, i think it was because their opponent completely self sucked their own assholes

Miami was terrible too. But on paper they're a more talented team than the 1994/95 Rockets. Its close though.

The Magic were a total fluke, and inexperienced too. The '95 Bulls likely would have beat the Rockets.
As for the '99 Spurs, they sucked too but went 37-13 and won 12 straight in the playoffs. can't totally disrespect that.

then how come MJ and the bulls even couldnt beat the magic?
and the rockets swept the same magic 4-0 in the finals. explain that.
this rockets team was good. had heaps of good role players which is what makes a championship team.
