  • OH COME ON!! THE INTERVIEW IS THE BEST PART, WHERE IS IT???

  • "(CHRIS BOTTI) REALLY MAKES THE TRUMPET SINGS!" ...AND THIS WONDERFUL INTRODUCTION OF THIS "NEW GREAT ARTIST" - (SHAWN COLVIN), IS COMPLETELY "TIMELESS" ... I DO LOOK FORWARD IN SEEING MORE OF HER IN THE FUTURE" ...HER SOFT & SATIN VOICE OF RELAXING JAZZ, WILL STAND THE TEST OF TIME!“ ...BLESSINGS & ENJOY!” - (DJS) - 12/10/11 ...

  • We all had fairly well developed ideas about beauty and grace, style and elegance as they might appear in a bluesy/jazz format but after we heard Shawn Colvin sing and saw her light up the room it was like we'd seen them all dancing in red shoes...it's the timbre...she's got a singing mask that God must have whittled by hand and covered so thoughtfully with that lovely face....smoky and the air passes through her like it's passing through the crushed velvet heart of love itself...dreamlike!!

  • Great Singing "Mask(s)" - I think of Shawn Colvin as preeminent among those so endowed e.g., Diana Ross; Barbara Steisand; Celene Dion; Emmy Lou Harris; Linda Ronstadt; Joni Mitchell; Judy Collins etc, ....she has a natural warmth and tone that comes through like crushed velvet...a breathy, slightly nasal timbre that just entrances/enraptures...SC could have been, may still be, as much a success as a jazz singer as she was/is an Americana/Folk/New Age artist...no limits on this bird...only sky..
