@erinfranzen as a person of 2nd/3rd generationa as Selena was..we are of Mex descent..when i go to Mexico they are quick to say u are AMERICAN no matter how good i speak spanish but they also say its good u dont forget ur roots. When u are US born, raised and schooled there is a big difference..u are American, if u decide to remember ur roots is all up to the person, now thats a fact jack! thats y we have some like Sel and others that deny their Mex roots..
