post nerf hax is still easily the best 1v1 champ in the game, they just made it so he isn't able to jump in to a team fight and obliterate one person while the entire team focusing him can't take him down because of his natural tankiness
I agree the clips used here didn't show jax as a weak glass cannon they pretty much proved that he is still viable even with a couple cc's. As you solo valuing and lee sin made me laugh.
@TheFreakOnee AD Soraka. As Colby said, don't do ranked games with Jax before he gets changed to a good point. So obviously that was a normal game which is the reason for the AD Soraka.
Why not jump get in melee then use the stun? When you are on your target, I mean you are in melee on them, frozen mallet seems to be an obvious choice here for more hp and to slow targets so you get the stun off
What you dont understand is how to build Jax. Jax is now bes played as an AD lifesteal carry. With enough lifesteal, like getting BT or Starks during midgame, you will be able to survive a teamfight. Jax is a very powerful champion and excels at almost all stages of the game. i wont be a douche and l2p, but come on colby, step it up.
I have to admit, his new stun is kind of crap. But hopefully in the patch, they fix it. The dodge is a lot more reliable, but only for a few seconds. I miss his old passive, especially since they replaced it with a passive he originally had anyway (old ult). And then his new ult active is the same as a summoner spell? I miss old Jax, but in time, I think he'll be back to a good champion.

wow its like riot heard you, they're making remastering his Stun, it will now last 2 secs, and you can turn it on earlier, plus it now gives him aoe resist.
maybe people should stop building him the old way and start building him with some hp because what the old passive give to him in defense the new ult give him in offense. If you have that ult active you gain a huge amount of damage.
I just finished playing Jax just now and he is still extremely powerful, i was building his straight forward normal build and i owned. I didn't find him squishy at all, i ended up getting 11 - 4 - 8. My items were, ninja tabi, sheen, phage, bilgewater cutlass (upgraded to gunblade) and a pickaxe. Not even a full OP build and he was still powerful, i think you just had bad games with the new jax or you're just not good with him. I never had anything wrong with his stun/dodge ability either...
Sorry, but what yo usay is a bit wrong imo, i can't stress enough how many times i have gotten out thatnks to 100% dodge vs a fed vayne... just leapstrike over walls and 100% dodge. and with an early sheen and timing of your stun( wich isn't really that hard at all...) your ganks will be quite strong and you will be quite bursty due to your W.. now i know he's not the best ranked pick but he has some unique features... solo dragon at lvl 7 with only wriggles or so... very usefull
Always appreciate your vids. I have to totally disagree with you this time, though. Jax is a special pick. When chosen against the right teams and the right lanes he is unstoppable. His burst is out of control high, so is his sustained DPS. His stun is reliable and easy to use when combo-ed correctly. He is a high risk, extremely high damage character. Use Jax correctly in the right situation and its pretty much a free win in solo que. As always, thanks for your great vids.

"Jax stun is so unreliable now" Colby, I love you. But if anything the new jax stun is wayyy more reliable than it used to be. You know have control over when it stuns. No more hoping you get a dodge from a minion in order to be able to stun, you just need to learn to time it better, buddy. Just because you can't land his stun doesn't mean it's a garbage spell, it means you need more practice.

@paulonatorman guinsoo's rageblade is useless now, tri and build a sheen and into a triforce, and that will give you enough attck speed. colby didnt build speed because of his new passive. which makes him less tanky so the tri force will help with that as well
@Philosoraptor411 Guinsoo can be usefull at AP builds, where Triforce has nothing to do, you can hit Grandmaster's Might passive nearly inmedately after arriving to an enemy and end with a nice chunk of ASpd.
Colby, i do agree with you about the dodge, i used to main jax and it was devastating for the enemy team when i got my dodge proc up from a minion and jumped in and AOE stunned their whole team, but what i think ppl dont realize about the new jax is that hes not viable when you go with mainly AD i always solo top and pick up a bilgewater cutlass and then a sheen. and that sheen proc RELLY helps in a early 1v2 situation and if you can get fed you can build a warmogs after a triforce and he tanky.
@kurosujiomake i disagree, having to be able to know when you have that dodge proc up is skill reliant. his old stun was something enemy's didnt expect when theyre 1v1'ing him. and with the long cooldown on his stun now u can relly only use it for ganks, and the unreliable range makes them able to flash away without a scratch.

@resistance1207 Herp. First off, that's stonewall. Second, get has wriggle's, merc treads, Aegis of the Legion, and the components for a gunblade. Third, half health Galio plus half health Lee Sin when the engagement between the three of them starts is not a good outcome. Argument is invalid.
I had the same problem with new Jax being too squishy. However, I found that if you get a Randuin's after your Gunblade and then a QSS you should be good. After that you can just get a rageblade, jump into the fray and start pummeling everyone.
@bjossus This is interesting, however I think even rageblade is too glass cannon for the new Jax and randuin Qss is spending a lot of items slots on defense. I was never a Jax player but I enjoy the new Jax by buying items that offers offense and defensive at the same time. ie. Atma's Wits End Ionic Spark etc.
I do rush a revolver after Tabi for some AP at the begining, anyways its just my personal opinion.
@ignitedxblaze I don't think you realize just how much survivability Randuin's gives you. In one game I was able to tank practically their entire team for about 5 seconds with only qss, randuin's and lifesteal/spellvamp. Then we aced them. They also had a shitload of cc fyi.
I would definitely recommend merc treads instead of tabi, unless they have a lot of ad.
Finally, get ad first. New jax doesn't scale as hard on ap as old jax.
I think the stun is much more reliable than before if you just practice it, the first game i played i missed some stuns, but the later games i always hit the stun and the 100% dodge thing can be really good if you just know when to use it.
While I do agree that Jax lacks the durability I do not agree on his E beeing carbage. It is abit weird and takes some practice but it makes a lot more sense than his other ability. I too miss the old Jax a lot, but the new one (especially when they've fixed his ultimate to give him more beefyness) is still fun and strong but might not fit into the current meta.
My guide on Jax should be up on my channel within an hour or two.
Man try to build some attack speed for him before going ap/tanky. I didnt watch your builds too closely but what i usually do is that is build madreds (not wriggles) then the new item which kinda shocks people and stuff. I know it doesnt seem that good on paper but with jax's passive you can proc that damage really quickly and he really needs some AS anyways. I also build him attack speed boots, i tell you it really does work. Or atleast it does @1450 ELO and normal.

when i play jax i always dominate my lane, even against organized teams ( i ward river and dont get ganked) and i go in later in teamfights so they have a trickier time focusing me.

Stuns not viable? Pretty sure that's just you missing it. And when you try to advice us about what it shouldve been, you always try to make it easier for yourself.
Colby always talking about how bad and unreliable the stun is but i just see him using the stun in the wrong way! At 4:12 he jumped Nasus without activating the stun before. At 4:30 he just activated the stun too early. You just have to train it a little bit! Thats ALL!
Guys wat colbycheeze is saying is that his stun is unreliable but if u can accidently miss time the stun unlike the other champs like taric or sion who has a stun which are auto aimed.
I like solo top Jax better. His health scaling is good for a Hextech champ, not as squishy as Akali is. Everyone underestimates Nashor's Tooth. With it's recent buffs it makes it useful for Jax since it's like and AP's Cleaver. Since he is a melee champ I do grab Sunfire if he needs more survive-ability. Hextech is his most viable health regen option because of that Lifesteal and Spellvamp. The 4 main items I focus on are Tabi/Treads, Nashor's, Hextech, Trinity/Sunfire.
Tbh Colby, this is the worst champion review you have ever done. Like, everything is not true you said. Idk why in the world would you play Jax in jungle. Go top, rush gunblade, then triforce and you have chasing ability, burst, sustain, and shitload of damage. Jungle Jax is like... bad.

@paulonatorman guinsoo's rageblade is useless now, tri and build a sheen and into a triforce, and that will give you enough attck speed. colby didnt build speed because of his new passive. which makes him less tanky so the tri force will help with that as well

@Philosoraptor411 Guinsoo can be usefull at AP builds, where Triforce has nothing to do, you can hit Grandmaster's Might passive nearly inmedately after arriving to an enemy and end with a nice chunk of ASpd.

Colby, i do agree with you about the dodge, i used to main jax and it was devastating for the enemy team when i got my dodge proc up from a minion and jumped in and AOE stunned their whole team, but what i think ppl dont realize about the new jax is that hes not viable when you go with mainly AD i always solo top and pick up a bilgewater cutlass and then a sheen. and that sheen proc RELLY helps in a early 1v2 situation and if you can get fed you can build a warmogs after a triforce and he tanky.

@kurosujiomake i disagree, having to be able to know when you have that dodge proc up is skill reliant. his old stun was something enemy's didnt expect when theyre 1v1'ing him. and with the long cooldown on his stun now u can relly only use it for ganks, and the unreliable range makes them able to flash away without a scratch.

@resistance1207 Herp. First off, that's stonewall. Second, get has wriggle's, merc treads, Aegis of the Legion, and the components for a gunblade. Third, half health Galio plus half health Lee Sin when the engagement between the three of them starts is not a good outcome. Argument is invalid.

I dunno Colby, Triforce is too expensive especially on top of gunblade, last 2 items can be atma's and banshee if you what him to be tanky.

I had the same problem with new Jax being too squishy. However, I found that if you get a Randuin's after your Gunblade and then a QSS you should be good. After that you can just get a rageblade, jump into the fray and start pummeling everyone.

@bjossus This is interesting, however I think even rageblade is too glass cannon for the new Jax and randuin Qss is spending a lot of items slots on defense. I was never a Jax player but I enjoy the new Jax by buying items that offers offense and defensive at the same time. ie. Atma's Wits End Ionic Spark etc.
I do rush a revolver after Tabi for some AP at the begining, anyways its just my personal opinion.

@ignitedxblaze I don't think you realize just how much survivability Randuin's gives you. In one game I was able to tank practically their entire team for about 5 seconds with only qss, randuin's and lifesteal/spellvamp. Then we aced them. They also had a shitload of cc fyi.
I would definitely recommend merc treads instead of tabi, unless they have a lot of ad.
Finally, get ad first. New jax doesn't scale as hard on ap as old jax.

I think the stun is much more reliable than before if you just practice it, the first game i played i missed some stuns, but the later games i always hit the stun and the 100% dodge thing can be really good if you just know when to use it.

Interesting thought Colby.
While I do agree that Jax lacks the durability I do not agree on his E beeing carbage. It is abit weird and takes some practice but it makes a lot more sense than his other ability. I too miss the old Jax a lot, but the new one (especially when they've fixed his ultimate to give him more beefyness) is still fun and strong but might not fit into the current meta.
My guide on Jax should be up on my channel within an hour or two.

Man try to build some attack speed for him before going ap/tanky. I didnt watch your builds too closely but what i usually do is that is build madreds (not wriggles) then the new item which kinda shocks people and stuff. I know it doesnt seem that good on paper but with jax's passive you can proc that damage really quickly and he really needs some AS anyways. I also build him attack speed boots, i tell you it really does work. Or atleast it does @1450 ELO and normal.

when i play jax i always dominate my lane, even against organized teams ( i ward river and dont get ganked) and i go in later in teamfights so they have a trickier time focusing me.
i think the new jax is great. however, i am going to agree with the community and say hes bad, just so he gets buffed :D

Colby always talking about how bad and unreliable the stun is but i just see him using the stun in the wrong way! At 4:12 he jumped Nasus without activating the stun before. At 4:30 he just activated the stun too early. You just have to train it a little bit! Thats ALL!

I like solo top Jax better. His health scaling is good for a Hextech champ, not as squishy as Akali is. Everyone underestimates Nashor's Tooth. With it's recent buffs it makes it useful for Jax since it's like and AP's Cleaver. Since he is a melee champ I do grab Sunfire if he needs more survive-ability. Hextech is his most viable health regen option because of that Lifesteal and Spellvamp. The 4 main items I focus on are Tabi/Treads, Nashor's, Hextech, Trinity/Sunfire.
