@BryTee I thought so too but when I looked closely the speed is not constant in relation to the airplane, I dont know if I make myself clear... take a look at the blue line moving from right to left which is a reflection; the speed is constant, meanwhile the other light starts slow then fast! maybe I've been watching to many UFO videos specially the 1 over Jerusalem; that just creep me out. It's proven to be real.

@julionica Notice that the spot of light lines up vertically (compared with the horizon) with a bright light seen on the ground. As you watch that bright light, it dims down, implying it was pointing at the plane, which adds to my idea of a simply reflection (or refraction in the edge of the glass of the window).

Of course, I'm no expert in what is (or is not) a UFO. And this is sadly nothing as interesting as the Jerusalem video.

so the plane did a 180 degree loop around the strip so the people aboard could see the strip? that's cool.

@CosbyTheCaterpillar I don't think they did it so passngers could see the strip. The wind direction was from the North, so they used the North-South runway to take off heading North (taking off into the wind is procedure), then turned to travel in the direction required, thus the 180.

I had the same good view a couple of weeks earlier, but I didn't have my camera on, so when we were on the same runway heading in the same direction, I got out my camera.

@BryTee Even when you make the more common departure to the west on 25R, you will fly over the strip and loop back if your flight is going to the south or east.

@7073gymchick I few in/out of Las Vegas every two weeks, for about a year. I only saw this twice. The first time it was lower than this as it flew across The Strip.

I don't fly as often, so I doubt I'll see this again, so I am VERY happy to have caught this one on film.

i seen the pawn shop its way diffrent from what you see on tv. When i went there the middle of the store has racks of tee shirts and a whole lot of other things so its not always open like that. I asked if rick and them was gonna be there and he told me the only time they really come in is when they record because we had to wait a good 20 minutes to even get into the door... But it's everything i thought it would be =}

@97jpc "The Strip" is Las Vegas Blvd from the hotels "Mandalay Palace" to "Stratosphere". It's where all the big hotels and all the lights are, where the tourists go (outside of the other glitzy place of Las Vegas, the older "Fremont Street" and all the hotels and the lights and attractions offered there).

This is a totally awesome video. I flew out of McCarran Airport back in November of 2009 at night and it was equally as awesome. We got a total view of the strip on the way out back to C.A.
