I bet that whole mess was her idea. I'm sure he tried to talk her out of it, but ended up going along with it to shut her up. The sales person probably had her in a trance. He should have stepped up and said NO!
We have been scammed by WESTGATE RESORT in Orlando,FL!
we are two foreigners who were believe that we were buying a villa for a cheap price.
the following days we wanted to cancel but they would not let us then our closing agent"con artist" supposedly working for the state of Florida disappeared and we felt trapped to pay otherwise they will mess up our credit!!!
We need help to expose them as scammers!!They won't give us our money back!!!
If you want to invest in a vacation property it´s way better to do it in a PRC (private residence club) they are a little more expensive but they definately work.
Never Never Never by a Timeshare!! At best, they are a very bad deal even if you like the vacation spot. Never forget that the owner of the hotel continues to own the equity and you pay the maintenance for him. That is why he is rich and people who buy Timeshares aren't.
Here is the reason you can never get "to where you want to travel" . It is because RCI takes all the popular deposited weeks and rents them to RCI members for thousands of dollars(100% profit because they are deposited units). Some day call RCI and ask for a rental in a select location and then ask them where they got that unit. They will say they buy additional units from resorts. Thats not the truth , they rent deposits! Good luck, take care.
This is exactly what I thought too - why we do not hear about class actions? I am thinking of starting one. By the way, RCI class action is not thrown out. Anyway, if anyone wants to check my experience with Point To Point Destinations (PTP Destinations, West Coast Timeshare) in Vancouver, BC, visit TimeshareRevealed web site
My parents were caught in a similar scam. I think the whole industry has serious issues. Why these companies have not been slapped with a class action yet is totally beyond me (actually i think rci was but it was thrown out)
