It was great to see old film of Philadelphia. Being born in the early 60's, I can remember some parts of the city looking similar to this film. That narrator in this film was laying on the crap thick though. No corruption or union problems on the waterfront? LOL.
@CullBate , Now we have coperate coruption that's selling out the American people. Remember when the Bush addministration wanted to sell the Port Authority of Phila. to Dubai? Or what about the Gypsies coming and going?
WPTZ was the Westinghouse owned NBC TV affiliate (KYW was then the radio station). In 1956 I believe, they swapped ownership with an RCA owned station in Cleveland. It became KYW in Cleveland and WRCV in Philly. The FCC took 9 years to finally decide to disallow the swap and in 1965 KYW returned to Philly.
Unbelievable. So much of this is no more.... Time has in many ways been so unkind...
