Getting a reliable cover also takes a certain time and often when gotten by surprise, you don`t have it.

maybe you should shut your fucking mouth. before someone who has actually been in firefights with vehicles involved before you make yourself look like a dumb fucking tool. this guy did what he should have done. which was to drop the target quickly before the target has a chance to fire. by moving around to your "cover" you waste valuable seconds acquiring target. the engine block is basically the only thing that will block incoming fire. and most pistol rounds go through the rest.

@sbd45acp That is why I carry Glock 32 357 SIG. Decent penetration with higher capacity. Balance between firepower and capacity. Many pistols have a hard time penetrating even sheet metal and glass depending on the angle of incidence. Every person should know what they want from their pistol before deciding on which to carry.

You are failing in a several key aspects:

1) You are not reloading pistol and scanning for additional threats after engaging initial threat

2) You seem to think that "realism" is exiting your vehicle/entering your vehicle with your pistol in your hand. this is not realistic by any means, in any country

3) You are not verifying your kills. Rather, you are turning your back on your target because you think it is neutralized. Unless you are immediatly exiting the attack zone, always verify. . Even if you shoot your target 10 times

4) You dance while you shoot. It has logic to it (a moving target is harder to hit) but as long as you decide to move and shoot, at least move to cover, not left to right, left to right within 2 feet.

1) It always depends on the situation as to how one should act. Scanning for additional threats makes YOU an easy target because you stay motionless. I DON`T PRETEND TO BE RIGHT! It`s simply my personal point of view that after killing the immediate attacker it would be better to quickly jump in the vehicle and leave the shooting area at full speed.

2) It might be illegal but I don`t deem it unrealistic.

3) I suppose you refer that statement to my first shooting. Even if not being killed, shooting someone 10 times IN LESS THAN 2 SECONDS would disable him for a rather long time. A time enough for you to leave securily the attack zone.

4) If you had a cover where you could hide yourself, I completely agree with you. But if you don`t have such a cover, lie down on the ground or move! Staying motionles is suicidal.

The proper course of action when you are about to exit a vehicle is to do a 30 second burnout to lay down a smokescreen so any potential attackers are unable to see you.

When entering a parked car, you are to use the remote start to start the engine, and you should dive into the drivers seat through the sunroof or window. You should refer to the highly tactical educational series "Dukes of Hazzard" for a demonstration on this technique, and tactical driving.

1. If you you`re holding your finger outside the trigger guard, you would never shoot anyone by accident. Yeah, if you drop a pistol on the ground that has a bullet in the chamber and features no firing pin-block, an unwanted shot is probable.

2. Try to unholster and holster your handgun in a concealed way. It`s not so hard to be achieved.

If taken by surprise, it`s hardly likely that you would have TIME to pull your handgun. That`s all I`m trying to suggest.
