Hardly! EMS and Firemen were there in seconds! I was hit by this car. Amazing Response! Vendors along side of the road were handing out ice to First Responders so they could make ice packs for everyone. The ambulances came from TOWNS away to help load everyone. Lawrence memorial hospital staff came rushing in from barbecues to help staff the quickly filling emergency room. This town CARED! Taxi cabs were giving people free rides back to our cars from the hospital.

Darcy so glad you commented to add to a firsthand account! I was at a bar less than a block away with 8 bands that my friend and I had booked for entertainment. We heard the sirens but were otherwise oblivious until a friend of mine in Washington, DC called me and asked if I was all right! I asked why and he told me that they were reporting the story on CNN, footage and all!

At that point I walked over and luckily everything was well under control and I'm very proud how everyone chipped in!
