the solo is a guitar just heavy distortion + a slide, tis a very simple solo and most of the vids on youtube of john playing this song live are acoustic so he uses his voice as he doesnt have josh klinghoffer with him or a full band.

you dont need a slide to do that. Use a heavy distortion pedal or two distortions pedals one after the other. Ive been experiencing with that and its been quite fun.

Well, it's not the way you played, just something with your hand, try let it be more loose, it looks so tense and unbendeble if you understand what I mean.. to me it looks like your using the whole arm to play and not just your lowerhand/wrist :) get it? :)
