This album sounds totally different than her other's. I love it. The only albums by her I had a hard time getting into were beekeeper and american doll posse, mainly because they didn't sound like anything new. This one is amazing and unique sounding.
Will all ofd u stop comparing tori amos to kate bush and fiona and so on and comparing sounds from other songs ... humanity has to stop attaching and comparing things to other things ..other wise we cant grow and develop... this is tori amos own sound ...electrick , acoustic ,,, and daring .. i like this album but it is not her best ,,and it dont sound anything like i heard before ....this is a good song tho xx .. line them up like soldiers
umm like Tori Amoses music doesn't suck, 20 million albums worldwide, she is a classic lyricist, pianist and isn't on Oprah carrying a Grammy and Met photo's? why is that? maybe she writes her OWN material and doesn't need a story...cough cough

Ahhhh So so lovely! Great song...I love the way she pronounces the words. I swear she uses about 4 different accents to express this song...I can't define then, but it works! One is her own standard one many are "used to", then there is this "jazzy accent" she uses sometimes, then there is...this kate bush-esque/english accent. Then there's another...Oh...I can't place any more, lol...anyone else wanna pitch in?
Sure. I agree, this song is so addictive, i love the way she pronounces "police me", and other words in here, she's so creative with all her different vocal styles and deliveries, so many beautiful and amazing songs.
not sol-jee-ers, sol-di-ers. She just does that with some words, speaks them as they are spelled, without concern of orthography, colloquialisms.. pretty much just pronouncing the literal phonetics.. she thinks outside the box. And she's effin hot.
Uh, I think that "SmackLoons" knows they lyric and was spelling it out phonetically.
I always forget how obsessive and defensive some Tori Amos fans can be, and then I see a comment like "frockpie's."
And she's not the first or the best at such speech patterns, though, yeah, she's gorgeous and immensely talented--and relevant, even after all of these years.
This is one of my favorite songs on AATS; thanks for posting!
I've noticed alot of hate for Tori's new videos here on youtube, wtf is wrong with everyone...Tori IS and ALWAYS will be one of the best composers/voices.writers in the music industry....what do you expect? It's like everyone wants to hear the same songs over and over with no change or growth, everything she does is amazing.
This is her best Fiona Apple.,..and I have to say...it's really ballsy to stretch herself that far.
This shit is completely fresh and new sounding....she requires a little patience...but when you dig far enough to find the track that delivers THIS is what you find....fucking rocking freshness way beyond what you expect from her.
aw, i actually LOVE this song. it's fierce and reminds me of Pip. the visualette is awesome too. But you see, I have this affinity for the subject of the song. Maybe that's why I loved it so much.
love the beat and that awesome guitar riff before the second verse.
"To get off he cries slutty goth. But I'm a brightly colored person".
I like Police Me, but I agree with you about those songs, too ... especially Curtain Call ... I think that is a great song. My favorite song on the album is Lady In Blue, though. I want to do a video for it soon. =)
Is this about the ever increasing police state in the US of A?

This track is drawing a line from contemporary sound to a very 70s feel, very Kate Bush "The Kick Inside" sort of thing.
