  • i have denon ah-d2000 and i had also hd600 though unamped, also i heard T1, dt990pro, lcd2, d7000, k702 and none of them can play rock so great like sr325i, this is seriously the best can for rock I've ever heard in my life

  • For me personally, these where my favorite Grado's listening out of a tube headphone amp!!

  • Damnnn I'm getting aroused!!!! lol

  • Thanks for the review. I've targeted these cans for metal listening. What would be your take on SS or tube amplification with these? They are 32 Ohm, so don't need too much. I suspect a tube amp would help the mid on these.

  • You did unboxing for DT 990 in one of your reviews

What do think its the best ?

    Grado 325i or DT 990 600 ohm

also how much impedance does grado 325i has ?

  • Reminds me of a box of frozen fish lol.

  • @FibrousAcquiescence LOL..so true

  • Where can I buy these for the cheapest price in the UK, either online from a reputable retailer or in-store in London somewhere? Please reply if you can help. I really want to buy one of these headphones.

  • @FibrousAcquiescence From what I understand you're going to get gouged if you buy Grado outside of the U.S. so I would suggest looking into the Alessandro Models which are just modified Grados. For whatever reason their prices are the same outside of the U.S.A. and shipping is a flat-rate.

  • I'm looking for comparison between Ultrasone HFI 2400 and this one, but I don't find much useful links. How these cans can be compared with HFI 2400? Thank you.

  • Anyone else get blue styrofoam? lol awesome cans tho, I shed tears every time I listen music through em!

  • this and dr dre headphones are totally in different worlds

  • @strongyang Indeed, they are.

  • i just bought senns hd448 and they are amazing, but lack a lot of bass, they are excellent for gaming though, do these have insane clean bass? not dirty bass like dr derp .

  • I want to plug this in to my 500 peavey and and blow them up with my 900 dollar schecter

  • I guess i'm just old school when it comes to listening to music.I don't see the point in buying a $300 headphone then pluging it into a pocket size mp3 player or an ipod. there are people out there that don't even know what a 1/4 adapter is for.

  • You can use your Ipod with dock as a Stand for this High End Headphone, thats right.

  • Is BeyerDynamic DT990 or these bttr?

  • These or Audio Technica ATH M50? for IPod Use.

  • Errr r these GREAT without any amp? Cause i do use headphones outside too with my ipod touch and i do not have a portable amp. =(

  • I would wear my SR80s till my ears were red & numb, but the sound was worth it. Give anything on the SR line an amp & equalizer and you're in music heaven. Before listening to Grado's I had actually never known that something could sound that good, it's like driving a Civic all of your life and then hoping into a Ferrari.

  • hahaha they have left and right adjustment ! you don't discover it :D

  • pizza box

  • @TheKlimekpl this "pizza box" has a good spongy padding which is generally used for transportation of very fancy laboratory equipment.

  • There's no way I could be so calm opening that box. Great review!

  • @DeckhandDavy these don't leak music correct and they are sound cancelling?

  • @ahadsz Grado SR 325is definitely cause leakage of sound in and out. But that what makes the sound so accurate and clean. Also, the soundstage in those headphones is quite amazing. However, it takes time to realize the true glory of sound coming from those Grado speakers.

  • really looking forward to hearing your review. I commute a long way every day and wonder how good are they at blocking out the world?

  • @ibanezbuyer Dude these are open back headphones so wont block out anything and everyone around you will also be able to clearly hear what you are listening to at any volume.

  • I had SR80s for about 5 years, all throughout high-school they were my BABIES!The clarity is like the artistical equivalent of a bird taking flight versus a boing 747 (other cans). I abused them, annoyed people, and pushed them to their limits with sine-wave bass testers (like 20 Hz). Hotel California is just ear-sex. I hope the afterlife has clarity this good. I want 325i's, are they *that* much better than the 125i/225i (bass)? My babies were stolen out of my home... figures. Paid only $113!

  • @24tharcher The sound of Grado SR 325is can be more accurate detailed and engaging than the sound from lower class Grado. However, I have to admit that some techno music sounds better on Grado SR225is than on Grado SR325is.

  • The box is meant to look like a pizza box. They are made in Brooklyn after all.

  • Pretty old school box.

  • I myself an owner of Grado RS 325is. And they are awesome. Oh I am so glad that I bought them!

I would agree that Grado RS 325is are pretty much on highs. However, for those individuals who find it highly undesirable, my kind suggestion reduce treble either through good amplifier or equalizer. I will be glad that you did.

  • i bought dr. dre beats, then i realised i could get like 3984985494834x better headphones for a cheaper price... oh yeah, and then my life ended.

    *sadface.

  • I know exactly what you are talking about when you mentions those hearing tests. Was kind of a nostalgic inclination to get myself a pair of Grados also.

  • ive got the alessandro ms2 are they the same they look the same

  • How come you have only done unboxings and no actual reviews of the headphone sound quality? You said you would have a review in 2 or 3 weeks and it looks like its been over 6 months since youve made this video.

  • any one interested in buying a set of Grados 1000i?

  • @snedie69er how much for Grados 1000i?

  • @craneywatch

    Looking for £650 :)

  • @snedie69er wonder how much would it be in Canadian dollars.

  • @craneywatch

    650.00 GBP = 1,012.03 CAD

    As of 05:01am GMT :)

    Merry Christmas

  • @snedie69er that's a lot! Yes, I know those headphones are not supposed to be cheap. And Merry Christmas to you too!

  • @craneywatch

I'm going to try get a 720p camera (with 12Mpx Picture) to create a video/slide show of the GS1000i. The only content on the internet that does them any justice is a single video with a very small (But nice) clip detailing the audio finesse.

I'll be sure to let you know when I do it.

  • what is the best headphones for £150-£200 (GBP)?

  • hi

i was wondering if they will work well with trance/house/ambient/chillout music , and classic music .

and i am planing on getting an amp rather the creek obh-11 or the grado ra-1 to drive them ... what do you recommend the creek or the grado? i will apreciate your advice

  • yo davy you gotta do an update on the grado

  • I have the SR225i's and although it took me a short while to get used to them, I now absolutely love them. Grado spared on the frills such as the packaging and what seems like very ordinary plastic parts but they've been dropped and mistreated and still sound as awesome. They gain personality as they age and I would NOT swap them for ANY other headphones... unless it was one of their higher end phones.

  • @lemonjellies

I feel the exact same way. I always end up reaching for my 325i's more than often :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • @DeckhandDavy Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

    I have the GS1K

and I love em , but holy cow those are gorgeous

  • why do you have so many headphones ? give me one :)

  • hey when is the review coming out ....??

  • Just got these, tested them for the first time last night. They are VERY uncomfortable on my ears after 30+ minutes, they jut seem dig into a part of my ear and after awhile it hurts a little. Other than that they are amazing, maybe I will try and find some more comfortable pads for my ears.

  • @pendulum123456 Change the ear pads to flat ones like the ones on the SR80i.

  • Way you talked about the hearing test reminded me of how the grado style seems to just have that more retro feel to it.

  • if you are unfamiliar with english you may call it "gray-doh"

  • Beyerdyne headphones?

  • No, "S" in this case means double-improved, because I would never buy Grado SR325i to substitute my Sennheiser HD 265 Linear. And I have heard both silver and golden headphones.

  • @ntrisKKT

Ha! That is a question I ask myself often. They are both very different, but are both amazing depending on what you are listening to. For now, I'd have to go with the Grado's. They fit my listening style more. Hell, I may say the dt990's in a month or so...both are so amazing.

  • I know the grado 325is and the denon d2000's are quite different but what would you recommend between the two for rock? comfort level? music genre versatility? better buy? Thanks, and nice review!

  • hi, Davey i have apair of gardo 60i and sound a lot more detailed than my techincal AD700.what are you impressions on these grado`s 325si. i know you haven`t as yet posted a review on you tube but hopefully you will shortley ect regards stephen

  • Is it pronounced "gray-do" or "grah-do"?

  • gray-doh

    :)

  • @DeckhandDavy

    I pronounce them gra-do...DOH!

I am allowed as an owner of the 325,RS1 and RS2 plus the PS-1000. :)

Grado was never known for gorgeous packaging ,plain boxes with foam.

You pay for the content, very little for fluff.

  • @DeckhandDavy Congratulations with a great purchase! Oh man, please don't underestimate those Grado headphones! Reduce treble, increase bass and you will be in heaven!

  • @DeckhandDavy Congratulations with a great purchase! Oh man, please don't underestimate those Grado headphones! Reduce treble, increase bass and you will be in heaven! By the way "s" in "is" doesn't mean silver. In this case "i" stands for "improved" while "s" means plural. Therefore, "is" in this case means improved more than ones.

  • @DeckhandDavy Actually thats not true, Grado is a spanish name, a family name originating in the city Grado. Its pronounced "Grá-do" with a slight roll on the R. Just an FYI :)

  • @DeckhandDavy

    It's grah

  • @DeckhandDavy

gray do is british, grah do is american, but the new york and the east coast accent is more "british" than the midwest and other accents

  • @hothead13 It's an Sicilian Surname and I am Sicilian. It's pronounced (at least in its original language) Grah-do

  • i ordered one yesterday night and it would arrive this tomorrow =)

i never heard of grado before until my friend said he going to get the sr60i from grado so i did some researched and decided to get one my self so i got the sr325is. but only thing im worried about these are that their uncomfortable and major sound leak

  • You're going to love them! I know I do. They do leak a lot of sound, and do put pressure on the ears...which can become a little uncomfortable. I'm starting to get used to it though :)

  • stang here from head-fi :P yeah, the SR-325i were gold and the SR-325is are silver. i stands for improved. s for silver ;)

  • Nice "mangamonster". :)

    And they're the SR325i's. Not "i s" :P

    It's iHelp from head-fi btw

  • Heyyy iHelp :) Nice to see ya here.

Actually, this is Grado's newest version of the 325i, now named the 325is...at least that what their website says, hehe. The 325i's were gold in color, but are no longer in production.

    See ya on the forums!
