@adamf34 So you call Bread a douchebag band, from one who never entered puberty you can talk! You can go back to being pointless in your miserable life
Ha....to KNOW that artists THEN ...KNEW how to write/produce/perform their music ...and do a fantastic job at it. Didn't have the computer and other crap to make it sound better on an album. It sounded great anyway. REAL TALENT!!!! TY to all the great artists who actually worked at this great music. Take note young 'uns. To be great you HAVE to work at it. Haven't you heard of ''practice practice practice". I did....when I started to learn instruments when I was a kid. Still know how and can.
@whoosh1965 We're actually living proof that there are still people with decent taste in music. To associate the words classic and incredible with this douchebag and his band is a sacrilege.
This is a real man. You NEED to be secure with your manhood in order to sing THAT high and sweet in public. This is some incredibly beautiful stuff, I didn't know they sounded JUST like the album when playing live.
Proud Daddy, I walked the same streets as you. I was a young boy when this song came out. There was something very different about those days in the early 70's. An air of pureness existed, that to this day, I can't recapture. But this song helps.
I remember when this song came out. It was the summer between my 7th and 8th grade years. I had just learned to play bar chords well enough and learned this song. I still can't carry a tune, even if it was in a bucket, but I sure do like singing to this song. For some reason the girls seemed to like it and it did help "break the ice" so to speak. ;)
One of the most beautiful and enduring love songs ever released on vinyl.
I pray that Bread will tour Australia one day..during my lifetime. Their music have a way of lifting my spirit. There is a feeling of wonderment about music like this. Thank you for sharing this with us.
This song makes me wanna come! Just beautiful man, beautiful!!! I really dig this stuff makes me wanna roll one up too! Teehee! Groovy stuff though, makes me wanna do some nitrous too!
I'm so glad I was a teen in the 70s...and so my adolescence was filled with great songs that, when I listen to them now, remind me just how unlucky this current generation is that they're bombarded with angry music.
É uma pena que nos dias de hoje a mídia não dê valor a musicas de bom gosto como essa. Somos obrigados a ouvir verdadeiras drogas fabricadas por medíocres.
It seems like yesterday that this song came out When I was still a young man walking the streets of Brooklyn,NY. My heart, filled with dreams of love and the hope of better tomorrows. Tunes like these makes me reminisce about those golden years and take me back to that magic time when all you see is a rainbow and expect to find a pot of gold on the other side.
@proudaddy1980 your words are eloquent man. you speak with the heart of a poet. songs like this make me feel the same way about those golden years! i only hope that someday, i find the right girl and become a proud papa too!
@mrScififan2 You will my man. Just look for her in the right places and make sure you both have the same principles, chemistry and love for one another. Peace
Know what I think of when I hear this song ? A fourteen year old girl, nervous as hell, because she was starting Junior High School...9th grade. This song was playing on the radio as she was getting dressed and fighting with her hair. Yep, that was me.
The greatest groups/musicians sound better live...I love the 70's...great melodies, awesome lyrics and great voices. Simple as they may have been, songs had meaning...the kind that give you shivers and make the hair stand on end.
Sadly, if you wrote and sang a song like this to a woman under about 50 years old today, she'd think you were completely gay and would mercilessly make fun of you. Just being real. Girls today love rap and grunge music not stuff like this.
Josh Groban is singing songs like this Broken Vow, You Raise Me Up, To Where You Are and so on and women are going insane at his concerts! And they are not all over 50 by a long shot! And all these artists making cover albums of old songs, motown, ballads that are selling millions of copies (not all old ladies). Women have and always will like romantic love songs and ballads!
I love this song........but it makes me sooooooo........sad, it sometimes makes me cry ....for some reason, and I don't know why it makes me think of my deceased father.............I sure miss him.
Man...Im 38 now but I feel like i'm 4 riding in the back seat of my parent's car when I listen to this. great GREAT memories. Never knew what these people looked like.
@jason93446 same here man. this is timeless music. bread and david are magical. i grew up listening to the oldies; seals and crofts, england dan, eagles, doobies, poco, neil young, america then i discovered LED ZEP and SABBATH boy those albums went up to the roof in 1983 when i was 9
this is the genration that was born after all you dreamers, we know there aint no pot o gold there and we sng tha music a de street. no pot a gol here or under ur rainbow
i walk 3 miles a day at work to slow things down....so i can listen more to this kind of song...but i guess whatever you do things will be reflected and say with sighwhy things gone so fast".....
I just loved those days,I have lots of memories, there is an old saying to bad youth is wasted on the young but hey I think we ill alays be young at heart and we had the best music too : )

one of my fave...too....remember during college days.......zamboanga city...philippines in the side of the r.t. lim boulevard...one of the benches with a cassette recorder....watching the waves...in the sea....nice to remember with friends....
Heard the same song also on the sidewalks of Roxas Blvd right beside some dude selling roasted peanuts and other knick-knacks, on the place before they turned it into Baywalk. Probably mid-late '90s.
I would absolutely love if BREAD ever did a reunion tour. I know at least one, maybe a few of the original members have passed away. I remember a PEOPLE magazine years ago about "Where are they now........." which shows GATES living on a beautiful farm somewhere raising horses. Come on DAVID, spear head a REUNION TOUR. Even if only ONE CONCERT. Make it a really good quality venue. Using the updated instruments, quality musicians. A company to record a DVD and a worldwide release!
That's funny, You gave me quite a chuckle with that comment. I look back at my dad's old pictures and he had hair like David's too....when he had hair.
i wasn't born yet during their years, however, i grew up with their music because my parents love the band. their songs remind me of my childhood years, and until now that i'm married, i still sing their songs...wonderful melody!
This song is wonderful, my mother used to play this song on the weekends, i can clearly remember playing with my toys with my brother and listening to the sounds of Bread echo throughout the house. Later, my mother would play this song as she beat us with a belt until we vomited. Ahh to be young again.....
so beautiful and relaxing,i just love it and thank god i was born in the 70's and such great music when life was so much better.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Have u lied? Have u stolen? Jesus said if you look at a woman with lust you have committed adultery with here in your heart. have u done that?
If God judge’s u by the Ten Commandments will u be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? Does this concern you?
Do u need a Savior from your sins?
Jesus (The Son of God)came, lived a sinless life, died on the cross (for our sins) and rose again on the third day.needgod.com

Lol. Evokes memories too.

A company to record a DVD and a worldwide release!

i wasn't born yet during their years, however, i grew up with their music because my parents love the band. their songs remind me of my childhood years, and until now that i'm married, i still sing their songs...wonderful melody!

This song is wonderful, my mother used to play this song on the weekends, i can clearly remember playing with my toys with my brother and listening to the sounds of Bread echo throughout the house. Later, my mother would play this song as she beat us with a belt until we vomited. Ahh to be young again.....
