  • hunh my 2002 hit 148, how long was the stretch?

  • @MrWasian 2 miles straight highway, was yours supercharged? Mine wasn't. Also depends on your gearing, I had the 3.10s or something, they had 2 different gearing in those Bonnevilles, one with more acceleration and less top end, and one that was slightly slower to 60 but had a higher top end. I drive a 2008 trailblazer now, no videos of that up yet.

  • @DystruktoBoi1 Ah my bad misread >.< thought it said ssei not sle lmao epic fail. Ya I have the supercharged version. Currently trying to up the hp A LOT want it to get to at least 300+ hp and then work on getting more torque

  • @MrWasian That would be sick, unfortunately my Bonneville fell victim to rust and hordes of other problems (over 125K mile on it) and was becoming more of a headache then a helper, I don't make that much money and would have had to take another car payment out to fix it all back up, only to have something else break I'm sure. As of now I get about 300 hp and 300 torque from my 2008 trailblazer I6, but that's stock haha, boy I miss my bonnie, but I like my new car too.

  • @DystruktoBoi1 Ya, people hate on the bonnie now, but back in the day it was beast. I'm a pontiac fan I'm trying to get approved to buy the 2009 gxp (it can outrace all of the new camaro/mustangs/corvettes) and that's on stock. Pontiac had some good cars all around. Going to buff up the bonnie so I can go up to pretty boys where daddy/mommy bought their 5.0 and watch them bet hefty against it. Then they lose their money when they don't release you need torque to win races not hp lol

  • @MrWasian 2009 GXP G8 I assume you're talking about. Those are really nice, altho they won't smoke the new Camaros and Corvettes, maybe the mustangs. The only reason I say that is because the lower model Corvettes and the SS Camaros and the G8 GXP share the same V8, only difference is the Vettes and Camaros are coupes and are lighter, with better suspension. Don't get me wrong those things are sick, I hope you get it. There's a guy around here with a tuned G8 GT and some mods, its a BEAST!

  • @DystruktoBoi1 Yup. Though most people around where I live have stock in their camaros/vettes/stangs so after I put a few ups on the bonnie I'll be able to smoke them no problem. Already talk to my custom shop and it's going to put me around 6k to get the bonnie running with enough hp and torque to outdo a stock porsche. That said though I'm switching everything out including the supercharger, very few things are staying the same it's pretty much a bonnie frame with a whole different engine lol.

  • @MrWasian If ur gonna drop all that in it make the fucker RWD that would be awesome! lol

  • @DystruktoBoi1 Already is. I'm trying to prove a point to one of my buddies as where I live all you can really do is go to college, go to work, get drunk , and build you car!! lol Anyway my buddy laughed when I got the bonnie saying I downgraded from my camaro that got wrecked. He owns a souped up GTO which he put about 15k in that baby will outrun anything you throw at it, of course nothing is stock. He's a pontiac fanatic though. I'm trying to soup up my bonnie so it can outrace the new line

  • @DystruktoBoi1 figure if I can get about 50 less hp than the new lines I can work on torque since the 50 hp won't matter if I have more torque. A quote a someone told me was "Horsepower sells cars, torque wins races" not to mention the new line of cammy and vettes don't have any torque whatsoever, it's actually kinda sad they're more of show cars now.

  • @MrWasian I wouldn't say that both Corvettes and Camaros make over 400 lbs or torque stock, with the V8s, and the V6 Camaros make 320HP stock and 300lbs of torque, thats nothing to laugh at. How much did it cost to make ur Bonnie RWD?

  • @DystruktoBoi1 not much since the automotive school my buds did that as their project or a final lmao it was pretty much equipment fees and food expenses. The V6 camaros are honestly no threat, the v8's are the only one's I'll have trouble with, though if they're stock the nitrous system should take care of that problem.

  • @MrWasian I want to see videos of this thing if you aren't pulling my leg lol.

  • @DystruktoBoi1 I will it's going to be a long project but I'll send you a friend invite. When I have the car where I want it I'll have a friend upload the video for me.

  • With the speed limiter remover you got from intense racing, do you use high octane gas like they suggest or do you just use the cheap 83?

  • @metalfreak787 I have never put 83 in my car even before I put any mods on it, I always used the premium since I owned the car.

  • @DystruktoBoi1 They have 83 octane? That's the lowest I've ever seen. Ever. Normally, the lowest is 87...

  • @getoffmeluckycharms maybe the guy typoed cuz I just read the comments and realized you are right, I've never seen 83 either haha, its 87 - 91 - 93

  • how muc was it for the pcm???

  • @01SLE 100 bucks from intense-racing just add the W's and the dotcom

  • hmm, i drive a 98 SSEi, its stock 230hp, havent done anything to it.

fastest ive ever tried is 110, so looks like if i take the limiter off i should be able to do 130ish

  • @themuddaload I think stock the SSEi goes to 124 with the limiter, if you take it off I bet you could push 140, the supercharger does alot for top speed, but then again u said its totally stock right? Get a cold air intake and throttle body spacer and then tune the chip like mine and I'm sure u could go over 130 easy.

  • @DystruktoBoi1 3rd gear runs out at 168mph@6000rpms ;)

  • @lurch1489 Lol not in my car is doesn't not enough horsepower to get it past all the wind.

  • @DystruktoBoi1 I know, however the SSEi should be able to.

  • @lurch1489 Hmmm with a cold air intake, throttle body spacer, smaller S/C pulley PCM and exhaust it may push 170, but it would need a REALLY long straight to do it, and I don't think I'd take a Bonneville over 150.

  • @DystruktoBoi1 throttle body spacers dont do anything... however even without an intake or smaller pulley, as long as the limiter is removed, it shouldnt have a problem.

  • @DystruktoBoi1 Actually my 03 SSEi is limited to 132mph. The crapy part is that it shifts into overdrive at 128mph. No computer mods, just a gutted airbox, drop in K&N filter, 3" offroad downpipe, no cat w/ O2 simulator. I'm confident with the limiter removed it would hit 150.

  • @GMisurdaddy my car with the new PCM is limited still but just not speed limited, at 5K RPMs in 3rd gear it doesn't go any farther, which is good I don't think I'd want it to sit at 6K or to shift to OD. If I had the exhaust mods you did and a supercharger on mine with the current chip I have I might be able to push 150 or 160 even. I've got a 3 inch CAI, a TBS, decent spark plugs, the PCM and thats all my performance mods, I want an exhaust system next and headers.

  • @DystruktoBoi1 The down pipe was actually reasonable, and it made quite a difference in acceleration but I think with supporting mods it will shine brighter than it does, ZZP had choices of 2.5 or 3.0 inch pipes with or with out cats, where I live we don't do emissions testing so I went ahead and got the 3 inch off road version in stainless so that in the future it will be ready for headers. dude the stock down pipe is a joke, it's double walled and is actually smaller than it looks.

  • @GMisurdaddy How much did it run you? I'd like to get better down pipes if the stock ones suck, I've heard the stock exhaust is actually pretty good and u wouldnt get alot more performance by upgrading it.

  • @DystruktoBoi1 Well the stock down pipe "appears decent" but I cut my old one in half when I cut the cat off and it was laughable. It all depends on the options you choose when you order, 2.5 or 3 inch, aluminized or stainless, with or with out cat. Mine was the "off road" style with no cat and it gave me extra piping where the cat used to be, ands I ordered the 3 inch stainless and it ran me just under $200. Really it all depends on how much your willing to spend.

  • @GMisurdaddy Thats not a bad price but I dont do my own work so installation is a big cost also. Id like a 3 inch down pipe, I want steel, doesnt have to be stainless, I'll need the cat since im in NY and I wanna hook it to my stock exhaust system, I'm just going to add better mufflers, my V6 cant pull in enough air to get better performance out of a 3 inch full exhaust I dont think.

  • my first car was a 1996 pontiac bonneville. i no longer have it but i still love the car. i had the SSE 205hp i used to floor it all the time until i cracked the head gasket. now i'm stuck with a 4 cyl nissan.........

  • @jshkorn Ugh that sucks, I promised myself I'd try my hardest to never have anything less then a 6 cylinder. This car is pretty beefy, its solid with no matter what I do to it, being a 1996 you probably had the first 3800 series engine, I have a 2003 with the 3800 series II so I'm hoping they fixed the head gasket issue cuz I love to floor it like gas is free :-P

  • Nice! How come your bonneville has 205 hp stock but my grand prix is said to have 200? I have series III

  • @Declipse16 No idea, maybe they changed it up or downtuned a little.
