Being from Texas, I'd do anything to get somewhere up north like this city and move out of state. I hate Texas because it's always so hot and I prefer rain/snow/cold any day to sweltering temperatures over 100.
This video is fantastic! (: I'm relocating to Portland October 30th from Florida! I absolutely love it here! I can't wait to explore what there is to see here in this beautiful city! Thanks for sharing! ♥
How do you play the guitar while driving around in busy Downtown Portland and keep both hands at 10 and 2? :-D I grew up in Vancouver, so this was like a drive around my home area.. thank you very much for the Great Video!
I live in California, and am seriously thinking of going to PSU in a couple years and moving out there. I've only been to visit, and thought it was lovely, but I'm sure living there is a bit different. Opinions?
@buzzinfly27 Oregon is truly great, if you are going to PSU you will be close to the willamette river it is gorgeous up by oregon city at willamette falls. I love oregon but sadly i recently moved to North carolina=( You will love Oregon!!
im 13 and i really want to move to portland so baadly it looks so beutifull and my best freind lives there i want to meet her so badly...untill then asia i shall save up for portland.
I'm black, And I use to reside in Seattle. I had a terrible experience with racism in Seattle. Lots of ppl told me that Portland is a better place to live than Seattle. Is that true?
@tseng13 I LOVE the SE side. When I first moved to Portland I lived right off SE Hawthorn and loved every bit of it. I didn't start taking random videos until later after I purchased a camera and moved closer to downtown. Now that I have been here for a while I wish I could cram so much more into this video! Always finding something new to like about Portland.
@flipcamvlogz I agree. I didn't attend but I went to a young writer's conference for several days there when I was in high school. Lovely campus and I love that part of SW. The Reed campus is also amazing and the neighborhood next to it, Eastmoreland, is like something from a fairy tale. :-)
@flipcamvlogz Lucky! I'll move there when I'm rich. :-D Either that or Arlington Heights. :-) My sister and I disagree a little on this but I kind of prefer the west side.
@DavePerry2012 If your into art then i highley recomend the portland art museum, i could stay there for yearsd :D They're currently having an japanese traditional art gallery, its amazing!

@giovannasos If rain is going to get your panties in a bunch than Portland is def. not a city for you. For everyone else who doesn't mind the moisture, it's an awesome place to visit/live.
@inuyashaspet It does rain in Portland quite often during the winter months but it turns everything nice and green all around the city. If you are into nature at all, not sure if you care a lot about stuff like that, Portland is a beautiful place to live. The summer months especially are amazing here in my opinion due to the fact that we have the sun and heat plus the shade of giant trees, and bright green grass to lay out on and relax. The rain can be dismal at times but it keeps us green! =)
@Excalion88 Hey, I'm surprised that not many people realize the small part of the state on the very nw tip that juts north. Look at the map and you'll see how the Columbia River heads northward before turning west to the ocean.

This video is beautiful. I keep on hearing good things about Portand, now I am thinking of moving there. Also, what songs are playing throughout the video?
Each time I watch this video, it makes me groggy, almost drunk (as in a meditative state), because I'm so planning on heading to Portland in the summer... I'm in Atlanta Ga right now, never been to Portland, but I'm taking a leap of faith. Will probably be living in Vancouver and commuting to Portland..
Awesome video... love it to bits...Love Portland, and Portland loves Dreamers!
@Melodi3ify Well I'm from Columbia SC, I've been planning a life changing move to Portland Or for a few years now. I've been out there a few times and absolutely love it! I've never visited during the summer months though, couldn't possibly be as hot as it is in SC. But really like how it snows up in the mountains yet the city just gets a misty rain! The ppl are happier there than here :) Hoping my "academic transfer" at work pans out coming up in July If not, I'll just quit and move anyway LoL
@SoulSurferGS8 You should come visit Portland this summer and bring a bike! =) It doesn't get super hot here but the mid 70's are always nice in my opinion.
@musicdork4ever I do feel Portland is a safe place to live. We have our troubles just like any city but if you compare the crime rate in Portland to that of other American cities of comparable size we are actually doing quite well.
@inuyashaspet I love Portland for the people, the mass transit options, the beauty, the urban planning, the community "big-city-small-town-feel" and the fact that I can bike until my hearts content all over the city. Not to mention the great food, local shops filled with Oregon-Made goods, and the amazing Saturday Market. I actually could go on for hours listing the things that I enjoy about Portland and although I have been to many great US cities Portland has grabbed me by the heart strings.
Great video! I like to capture what I see out there, too. Nice to see I'm not the only one with these kinds of videos! I live across the river in Vancouver and make a lot of videos of Portland, Vancouver and more.
I am from the Rose City, and I moved to NJ because I fell in love with a man from here, and I had to make the choice to love him from Portland, or love Portland from here. As it turns out, I love him still, but boy I'll tell you what: I left my heart in Portland. I miss is with an ache.

live in milwaukie... portland is awesome, if you feel down just go to voodoo, if you are a local you know what i mean :) and i ride trimet 5 days a week and im 17!!!!!!
I spent two amazing years living here. I left not by choice, just had nowhere else to go. I can't wait to be back there. It's beautiful, clean, lots of interesting people, and overall a lot of fun. Voodoo is great, Rocco's is great, Powell's is great, and for a great little bar(there's a lot of them) check out Ash street Saloon. You might even meet Jimi Hendrix or Elvis there during summer.
My son and his wife recently visited Portland and also fell in love with the place. I think Portland transcends labels and is more then just a really cool city. The future leaders of America and the planet would do well to take a page from Portland's book and let people be free, shackled only by our responsibility to the earth and to our fellow man. That was all very heavy so be Portlandlike and drink some micro brews. Thanks for being there. I will be there soon.. Happy Cycling !!
@bikeadvocate Thank You! And thanks for watching I fell in love with Portland and all of the amazing people the instant I came to this city a couple years ago. Although I am a native to Oregon there is definitely something special about Portland that can't be found in any other place.
@StMeade Thanks! Yes Portland has been known for it's progressive attitude to much praise and some criticism. For the most part I see Portland as a very welcoming city where anyone can find a place to feel at home no matter what.
@shasanni Portland is pretty big and if you live outside of parkrose near 82nd street were i do you can live cheap (we live off of 3,000 and there 9 people in our house) and its a short buss ride to downtown
We have to quit telling people Portland is great. Tell everyone all it does is rain in Portland. Unfortunately, we are on the nation's radar for a great place to live and all of the transplants (nothing against any individual transplants) will ruin what locals love about Portland. If Portland gets too populated, it will turn into a big city and that's bad.
@dalinayoung dats so mean! do u have any idea how bad i am trying to leave nyc?? its sucks here now. too expensive and arrogant. just let me have a small apartment there. i promise i won't tell anyone else......
@arjuluki Thank You! Im glad you enjoyed it. I love Portland so much and I'm glad to share part of my experience with others. =) Greetings from Portland =)
@wegolitely Thanks im glad that you liked the video. I can't remember who I chose for the music but once I find out I will send you the name of the artist.
@hobbleheads No hurricanes in Portland but we do get a lot of wet weather. It keeps our city nice and green and during the summer months it makes going for a bike ride, hike, walk even more enjoyable. A lot of people enjoy the rain and a lot of people do not but there are a plethora of fun places in Portland to pop into to stay warm, dry, and have a great time.
Portland Oregon is a beautiful place but I will never go back to live. I just found out my sister and her husband are moving back to california from portland she says she can't take living so far away from her family. well your video is very nice thanks for sharing. good luck!
I hate Portland, there's not enough sunshine. Everytime they have a sunny a day everyone's all like "Oh my god, the weather is SO Nice today." For the rest of the country, a sunny day is just another, normal day.
@Coloradotoker So you must hate the entire North West because the weather is like that all over this region. The rest of us know of plenty of things to do in Portland rain or shine and were not going to start crying because of a few drops of moisture. Your loss.
The real fun is when you walk around and see so many weird people :3 I get sent out to get coffee every time me and my mom go get our hair done and its not my turn yet. ._.
Portland is the shit for skating, friendly people, culture, and it's got lots of good concerts and what not that come thru there I can't think of a better place to live!!!!
I can't wait to move there, you can't keep ME out. I've lived in California most my life and I absolutely hate it here. I lived in Oregon Before, in Eugene, and coming back to Cali was one of the saddest days of my life.
Portland oregon, the one city people hate for just being nice to people. That's weird and the whole "portland is weird they wear to many hats" thing is just weird, hats?REALLY?I live in the portland oregon area and it's not that bad and why do people think its weid to wear a hat?
@MagicHatGs2 I know what you mean about the being nice to people part! Richmond VA is sort of like Portland, and everyone is really nice to each other.
I live in Arizona and its hot as hell. I visited some family during August and instantly fell in love its like this cozy little, yet big town feel hidden between huge green trees and rivers, the weather is wonderfull, the people are nice, and they pump your gas : )
i'm west palm beach fla. and i went there in may and froze. it was so nice everyone there was so friendly. i loved it. i did go to powell's book store it was so big. i would like to move there it seemed like a great place to raise kids
Im trying to make the decision between Portland and Seattle. Both are great cities in the Northwest, with totally similar yet different feels. Though Ill probably end up in Seattle in the next few months, perhaps Ill end up in Portland sometime as well.
It's so nice and different looking than california. Looks like you can actually breathe, too! lol. I'm moving there in the spring. Can't wait :) Thanks for the vid
the only place in the world where all the really hot girls date the ugliest guys.

hows the weather out there like storms, hurricanes, tornadoes etc.?
hobbleheads 1 year ago
@hobbleheads No hurricanes in Portland but we do get a lot of wet weather. It keeps our city nice and green and during the summer months it makes going for a bike ride, hike, walk even more enjoyable. A lot of people enjoy the rain and a lot of people do not but there are a plethora of fun places in Portland to pop into to stay warm, dry, and have a great time.

I hate Portland, there's not enough sunshine. Everytime they have a sunny a day everyone's all like "Oh my god, the weather is SO Nice today." For the rest of the country, a sunny day is just another, normal day.

@Coloradotoker Go back to California
waves1of9terror 1 year ago 2
@waves1of9terror I don't live in California, I live in Colorado and enjoy 300 days of sunshine per year.
Coloradotoker 1 year ago
@Coloradotoker So you must hate the entire North West because the weather is like that all over this region. The rest of us know of plenty of things to do in Portland rain or shine and were not going to start crying because of a few drops of moisture. Your loss.
pavilionking06 1 year ago 4
@pavilionking06 Well, I like the culture, but I could never stand living up there.

Until you actually drive it, you don't know how cool it really is.... East bound on Highway 26 from Beaverton, and enter the tunnel.
Then BAM! it hits you just as you exit the tunnel.
The city skyline is right there in front of you.. totally awesome.
Day or night, it's a great view that suddenly appears..
There is a clip or two of this in the video... but it's nothing like real life.
Fantastic. Asheville N.C. has something similar, but it does not have the same "wow" factor to it.

MagicHatGs2 1 year ago 2
@MagicHatGs2 I like how weird Portland is, it will be a sad day if Portlander's start to act any other way in my opinion =)
stevemallen1 1 year ago 7
@MagicHatGs2 i think the reason why portland is a great cit, is because of matt greoning being from there
jason854656 1 year ago
@MagicHatGs2 I know what you mean about the being nice to people part! Richmond VA is sort of like Portland, and everyone is really nice to each other.

I live in Arizona and its hot as hell. I visited some family during August and instantly fell in love its like this cozy little, yet big town feel hidden between huge green trees and rivers, the weather is wonderfull, the people are nice, and they pump your gas : )

Im trying to make the decision between Portland and Seattle. Both are great cities in the Northwest, with totally similar yet different feels. Though Ill probably end up in Seattle in the next few months, perhaps Ill end up in Portland sometime as well.
