Overrated. And until he steps up and prove himself against the likes of Kessler, Ward and Froch, people will consider him overrated. He's got good accuracy and power but he stands there for the taking and his defense is poor. I think he would be in trouble against Kessler because he is a type similar to himself. even at :42 when there is about 16 seconds left of the fight, that couldve been called a technical knockdown, because bute's legs went out and he was being held up by the ropes.
he beat the count but theres no way he was fit enough to continue. leaning against the ropes, wobbling, looking around dazed. the ref is supposed to make the fighter come to them to see how well they can walk and this one just said he was okay. bute's a great fighter but he lost this one.
From the moment he hits the floor to the time he gets up it takes me only 8/9 seconds but he stumbled so if we didn't have a joker referee it could have been different, Bute definitely one of the more over rated boxers right now

and in any other fight, we don't always see referee starting counting as soon as the guy is down, sometime, it takes 1-2 seconds before the referee start counting and these guys still don't get back on their feets like bute did. he got back in 8 seconds, and he won that fight, if andrade was that good, he would have knocked down bute for at least 30 seconds, but bute was only tired, this is why he took some time to get up.
I don't see any controversy, if you do the count yourself, you can see that he get up between 7-8 seconds, he wasn't down for 10 sec+ at all, that wasn't a fair count, but Lucian bute got on his feet in time.

Overrated. And until he steps up and prove himself against the likes of Kessler, Ward and Froch, people will consider him overrated. He's got good accuracy and power but he stands there for the taking and his defense is poor. I think he would be in trouble against Kessler because he is a type similar to himself. Only problem is that Kessler seems stronger, more precise and has a deadly jab. Bute would be hit with more shots than he has ever been in his pro carreer. I hope he has a solid chin!

Bute definitely dodged a bullet,
There referee was constantly getting between the two to stop Andrade punching. Look at when he breaks them with 30s left - he's in there for 7s!
The count was a disgrace, Bute was spent - you still got to get to your feet and be capable of continuing at the end of the count - Bute wasn't.
Andrade should have known the ref would favour Bute and gone as far into the corner as he could.
Fair play to Bute, he didn't duck a rematch and got the job done.

and in any other fight, we don't always see referee starting counting as soon as the guy is down, sometime, it takes 1-2 seconds before the referee start counting and these guys still don't get back on their feets like bute did. he got back in 8 seconds, and he won that fight, if andrade was that good, he would have knocked down bute for at least 30 seconds, but bute was only tired, this is why he took some time to get up.

at 0.59 bute goes down, the counter cannot start in the same second!
so, let's say 1.00. at 1.08 bute is completely up.
yes, the referee, started to count later it's true, but it's also true that it doesn't matter in this case.
only if bute would have been still down after 1.10, no matter how the referee countered, we could say that andrade was stolen.
But, because bute was a gentleman he offered to fight andrade again. a coward wouldn't do that, think about it!

Watch the video again...he was UP by the count of 8 and at that point the fight was already over....don't care what the expert anouncers wanted to happen.
