Correct ! for example a guy with huge ears that are not considered normal in size, Yet they are symmetrical but still since they are bigger than normal therefore he is considered as not attractive.
It's not only symmetry but also the femininity of a face. All the examples in the video (symmetrical or not) are quite feminine faces - for sure A LOT more feminine than the average women. But I admit there are also women who are not that feminine as far as face is concerned, and they are pretty.

Yes, symmetry makes a face beautiful. But most of those people already have a symmetrical face. You are using the wrong pictures. The picture have to be exactly from the front these ones are not. And second of all it is also about proportions. Those proportions have to do with the Golden Ratio. Just google the 'facial beauty mask'.
Being too symmetrical is as unattractive to most as being too asymmetrical... Holly Willoughby in the UK is a good example of somebody that is considered very beautiful, but has a asymmetrical face.
the photos you have choosen all have different lighting and postures, best to choose a picture that is photographs a face that is straight with the camera and lighting is equal in both sides.
To answer your question about Kathy Griffin, the reason we don't find her as attractive is because she happens to have a long chin, while desired traits in a woman are small chin, small nose, large eyes, and high cheekbones. The other asymmetrical faces portray these desired traits. These desired traits are not my opinion, rather conducted from studies on the science of sex appeal. It's on Netflix too :)
The symmetrical thing is about people who have NATURALLY more symmetrical faces are prettier in the majority of people's opinions - not that people whos faces have been mirrored (by someone who isn't very good at it) are more attractive.

those photos are all symmetrical, just the face shape and distance between features changes...to answer the question, I don't think symmetrical faces are always more attractive, but I think they are the most stunning, "in your face" type of beautiful. Think Catherine Zeta Jones.
It's impossible to have a completely symmetrical face since our genetic code simply disallows for such a thing. There will always be minor discrepancies within every individual. But even if there were such a being with a 100% symmetrical face, he/she may not even be considered attractive as there are many other factors concerning physical attractiveness. Facial symmetry is just one of these factors.

All of your facial comparsions assume that the facial plane in the picture you're using is absolutly parallel with the camera lense.You'd have to measure with a laser when taking the picture to insure this.Probably less than 99% of the pictures you're using are that way.It would basically be shear luck to get it perfect.Shannon Doherty type, I'll give you those.But you can't use the mirror effect thing for a face that's not noticable otherwise, unless you have guaranteed parallel plane pic.
This isn't what is meant by symmetry. It means that the eyes will be the same width apart as the width of the eye. They will be roughly in the center of the head (from top to bottom), the nose will be halfway between the eyes and the chin, the mouth halfway between the bottom of the nose and the chin (all of these roughly). It's about proportions. Same goes with the body.

Facial symmetry goes beyond just the face shape! How can you say kathy griffin is symmetrical? look at the mirror image of her nose! they are clearly different.
then how can you say that their face is symmetric or asymmetric? to properly tell if their face is symmetric they have to be looking straight at you, then you can use mirror images to see if the left and right side match. if the two mirror images are vastly different than the original, than they are asymmetric. You cannot do this test because, like you said, all of them are looking to the side!
All you need to do is look at their noses, their eyes, their lips, their face and see if both sides are roughly the same. you do not need to mirror images of faces that are not even looking straight on in the first place. Do you think someone with a crooked nose is attractive? how about someone with a lazy eye? no? I rest my case.

It's not only symmetry but also the femininity of a face. All the examples in the video (symmetrical or not) are quite feminine faces - for sure A LOT more feminine than the average women. But I admit there are also women who are not that feminine as far as face is concerned, and they are pretty.
SO there must be smth else... probably undiscovered yet :)

Yes, symmetry makes a face beautiful. But most of those people already have a symmetrical face. You are using the wrong pictures. The picture have to be exactly from the front these ones are not. And second of all it is also about proportions. Those proportions have to do with the Golden Ratio. Just google the 'facial beauty mask'.

To answer your question about Kathy Griffin, the reason we don't find her as attractive is because she happens to have a long chin, while desired traits in a woman are small chin, small nose, large eyes, and high cheekbones. The other asymmetrical faces portray these desired traits. These desired traits are not my opinion, rather conducted from studies on the science of sex appeal. It's on Netflix too :)

The symmetrical thing is about people who have NATURALLY more symmetrical faces are prettier in the majority of people's opinions - not that people whos faces have been mirrored (by someone who isn't very good at it) are more attractive.

@gayisrael dude..one, this shows nothing about symmetry. just has pictures of faces flipped to try to make them be symmetrical. facial symmetry is something that has been studied by scientists and doctors for years and it has been proven that symmetrical faces have been more desireable to mates. male, femal, human or even primate. it also means you are more feminine or masculin, and also are more able to fight off disease making you a healthier option to mate with. do some research beforehand

@maymeewi People who have naturally more symmetrical faces, on average, are found more attractive, I'm not saying that this is 100% of the case, or that this happens all the time, and the reason for that is hardly anyone has a symmetrical face. Also, by people's opinions, I don't mean they look at two people and think "That one's prettier because her face is more symmetrical." It is most likely a subconscious thing that will sway someones opinion. I think people who have more asymmetrical faces

I agree with the video, however, this video, by mirroring peoples faces, doesn't prove it because anything that makes a person look unnatural will probably make them less attractive. If someones face is naturally asymmetrical, then mirroring their face is obviously going to make them look less natural and therefore less attractive. those photos are all symmetrical, just the face shape and distance between features changes...to answer the question, I don't think symmetrical faces are always more attractive, but I think they are the most stunning, "in your face" type of beautiful. Think Catherine Zeta Jones.

It's impossible to have a completely symmetrical face since our genetic code simply disallows for such a thing. There will always be minor discrepancies within every individual. But even if there were such a being with a 100% symmetrical face, he/she may not even be considered attractive as there are many other factors concerning physical attractiveness. Facial symmetry is just one of these factors.

@gayisrael That's a fallacious argument you have there and besides, you're completely missing my point. What I am trying to say is that facial symmetry is only one of the many facets of physical beauty. It is not because of Kathy Griffin's symmetrical face that makes her less attractive than Nicole Kidman. While Kathy Griffin may have a nearly symmetrical face, she is still lacking in some of the features that are a must-have for anyone to be considered 'good looking'.

When applying symmetry with one side:
1) see how theirs shoulders instantaneously widen to a Hulk level, and on the other symmetric photo shrink to a Woody Allen silhouette, Is this normal?
2) Look at the eye alignment, on photo #2 they are chameleon style, and #3 they are extremely closed orientated to the nose/center of the face.
3) Shoulders alignments ?! one is higher than the other, fronter, it's so obvious, shouldn't it ?!
Nobody want to manipulate you, it's a simple scientific fact.

You are manipulating people with your ignorance and with your unprofessionalism, your theory MAY seem correct, but ALL of your photo are unsuited for this experiment. The photos are not perfectly aligned, the photo lenses used to photograph them is not correctly chosen for this type of mapping, etc ETC.
A VERY simple question: do you really believe that one side is bigger/smaller than the other with 2-4 cm? this is absolutely ridiculous.

All of your facial comparsions assume that the facial plane in the picture you're using is absolutly parallel with the camera lense.You'd have to measure with a laser when taking the picture to insure this.Probably less than 99% of the pictures you're using are that way.It would basically be shear luck to get it perfect.Shannon Doherty type, I'll give you those.But you can't use the mirror effect thing for a face that's not noticable otherwise, unless you have guaranteed parallel plane pic.

This isn't what is meant by symmetry. It means that the eyes will be the same width apart as the width of the eye. They will be roughly in the center of the head (from top to bottom), the nose will be halfway between the eyes and the chin, the mouth halfway between the bottom of the nose and the chin (all of these roughly). It's about proportions. Same goes with the body.

symmetry is not attractive per se, but it is strongly correlated with attractiveness (for men only),that is: perfectly symmetric half face composites of asymmetric faces won't be any more attractive,and mere half faces of originally symmetric faces are as attractive as full faces. Symmetry is a scientific measure of attractiveness not the way humans judge attractiveness. And before uploading this dumb video please use non-skewed photos when making half composites.

there are characteristics that we instinctively zero in on to form our first impressions of someone. facial symmetry is far from being the most important. but it IS definitely one of the factors, and to completely exclude it is just as stupid as basing the idea of beauty entirely on it.

It all depends on how extreme the asymetry is people don't seem to notice that my chin receeds, and my nose has a small hump, and tilts a little to the side. Personally I think beauty is when you have flaws, and people still think your beautiful.

But when you split the pic of the face on the computer, it depends where you cut; the cut has to be absolutely precise before joining - you can see a great difference between cutting in one place, then cutting a fraction of a millimetre to the right or left, so the results aren't necessarily accurate.

Interestingly, one of the most beautiful women in the world at the moment is a german supermodel Julia Stegner, who has an extremely asymmetric face. Her jawline is so crooked and the other side of her face is larger than the other, but still her beauty is undeniable.

then how can you say that their face is symmetric or asymmetric? to properly tell if their face is symmetric they have to be looking straight at you, then you can use mirror images to see if the left and right side match. if the two mirror images are vastly different than the original, than they are asymmetric. You cannot do this test because, like you said, all of them are looking to the side!

All you need to do is look at their noses, their eyes, their lips, their face and see if both sides are roughly the same. you do not need to mirror images of faces that are not even looking straight on in the first place. Do you think someone with a crooked nose is attractive? how about someone with a lazy eye? no? I rest my case.
