The 80's were original, and in my eyes, pretty cool. Now a days it's all fake. I have kids listening to rap, but not in my home. By the way, just curious, the blacks blew the scene away in the 60's. Why do they just produce noise now?

IMO the "noise" factor infected black music more since the turn of the millennium, and especially since about 2006. The ringtone and Auto-Tune have been deteriorating factors for sure, and while great African-American talents continue to try and make a living, they're increasingly either undermined by the Lil' Wayne sound's predominance (see Lupe Fiasco) or assimilated into other genres (e.g., Darius Rucker becoming a country star) with the greater integration into the general pop.

Early 80s music was just plain fun. Anyone out there remember what fun was? This is one of my all time favorite Christmas songs. In December, 1996, Patty Donohue, the lead singer of the Waitresses died of lung cancer at the age of 40 after battling it for almost a year. We miss ya, Patty.

I was Soo drunk the night of her disappearance I don't remember leaving the first bar, never mind the local and walking home.
