In spite of been an imaginary projection of the human mind, Satan is the dark potential in each one of us, the fears we have to face in order to grow and mature. It represents the realities of the world in which we live, a wonderful world of duality. Not everything is understandable with words, so we humans need to personify things in order to understand them at the level of emotions and experiences.. that's the reason why archetypes like "Satan" could represent many things to many people.
"fucking shit! DB fuck off!!" You're a fucking moron, if you don't like them then why would you come onto youtube and listen to them? They are one of the greatest black metal bands there is..... EVER.
So supersomonerandom you would interpet this song as having a "pick your battles" type message within the lyrics? As well as a tribute the brutal potential our species' history has?
I love the orchestra parts in this CD. This is definitely the next Dimmu Borgir CD I'm getting (I'm getting them out of order XD I got In Sorte Diaboli first :P).
0:01-1:50 its like in running and jumping, doing flips in the air as i run away from a group off people chasing me
1:51-7:06 its like you've just fallen down a shaft, sliding down into the pits of hell. and then you begin your journey on trying to find your way out of hell as a couple demons try to chase you down. you somehow escape and only a few asend with you.
7:07-8:41 you get knocked out just as you almost reach a church (or something) and you lay there and watch disaster consume the land
hmm.. i know that the orchestral part of this song is not from dimmu borgir.. so could anyone tell me what's the name of it and who directs it? the name of the orchestra too please ^^ or just give me anything!!
@busted4life601 thank you very much, but.. could you tell me where did they took the piece from? because i heard it on the movie Stardust and well.. i don't think the makers of Stardust got part of the movie's soundtrack from a Black Metal band..
the members of dimmu are antichristian: firm haters of all organized religion galder is the only satanist ex-member vortex is norse pegan and to the ww2 comment thats basically the gist of this entire album is the fall of christianity basically the religious battle supposed to take place at the end of days
@DickArmee i would have removed his brain, devoured it, and replaced it with a machine that told him "listen to dimmu and destroy everything" over and over. but thats just me..
Same, it reminds me of a chase scene and then the screen takes us to an overhead view of a beautiful forest, then it goes back to the chase then back to the forest, then Dimmu jumps in and burns the forest down.
the first 2 albums were black metal with a bit ambient influences ( stormbläst and For All Tid) after those, they kinda changed. you cant call it black nor death metal. who gives a shit about labels. Dimmu Borgir is awesome. no matter how you want to label it :')
@DeliciousPish Not to perform some necromancy on this post but that random shit is also the intro to the song Unorthodox Manifesto which follows this song on the album.

Which means that they're... Pro life?
