Do you have to take out all of that to change the home button? Or could you just remove the speaker thing and be able to replace the home button from there?
So much trouble for the home button ... Thought it would just be like the 3Gs... I have totally stripped a 3GS down before and that was a ball ache but this is twice as much work ... X
Absolutely top video, just finished changing the home button and my newly cracked screen, took only 15-20 minutes, only trouble i had was when it came to feeding the screen flex cables through, make sure the far left one comes all the way as mine felt like it had, but had snagged, and then wouldn't reach the connector. All tested and working perfectly now, awesome job, ty!
This is BS!!!! I got the tools and replacement home button from ebay and i even went negative to buy it but it didnt come w instructions. so i decided to look up a video on how to replace it on youtube and found this one. I watched it twice then decided to go for it. For some reason i have more screws after i took it apart and put it back together and I have two weird parts that fell from the sky.... or so it seems. I have no idea where these peices go and i dont know where the remaining screws
@InjuredGadgets You guys probably get a lot of iPhones from failed repairs in these videos even though they're step by step. The main issue is you need a steady hand and intuition, which only comes from experience. Are you sure there is no way to remove the black circular plastic piece that covers the back side of the Home button(if you remove the charging port as well) to replace the Home flex cable? you have to pull out the screen, right?
@duffrageous It has to be completely removed because that cables attaches to the home button and theres no way to get it under the home button without taking the actual button out as well.
So helpfull thank you so much. subbed.

also, making sure you have a magnetised phillips screwdriver makes this a million time less of a balls-ache
