Extraordinary, Unique, Beautiful, Charming, Ancient, Artistic, Magical....that is just some of the words that come to mind off the top of my head. when i was a kid we could not travel abroad....soviet rules...so st petersburg was the first town outside of my country and exactly at a time when there were white nights....so magical..there is a feel of a day light and at the same time you know it is night...so fantastic..it comes with me all my life

Powowo, the difference is in that such sky we have all the night. Sun mostly does not set. But that happens only in summer from the end of May up to the end of July. :)

what is the difference between white nighs and midnight sun ?

Midnight sun refers to sun at midnight and throughout the night which only happens north of the arctic circle.

White nights refer to daylight all night but without the sun.

dudes I originated from that city but whats about that fountaines... I never saw that ones... this are must be something around the marine museum... and the zoo must be ca . 3.5 kilometers farther north from THAT direction... but I never saw that fountains

The water fountain show is spectacular and it happens every evening. Definitely a highlight of St. Petersburg.

i made a video exactly of that same day, and i actually did get the dvortsovaya bridge opening on video. but honestly it took a long time and it's boring to watch the whole video. but, it is very interesting at the same time. cnn broadcasted two photos of mine from the same day; one of opened bridge, and other of the fortress. thank you for posting your video. great memories!
