  • I'm not a fan of the fenders on the Evo X, so the RalliArt will save me money and allow me to do modifications where I see fit. New tires will be the first upgrade.

  • Run a set of Mazdaspeed 3 tires on those rims and watch the braking and handling numbers improve significantly. They didn't want the RA to be too close to the Evo on purpose... hence the garbage tires.

  • Man I'm sick of ppl hating on Ralliart. Most of them have no idea what it's capable of. And a lot of people who have Evos can't drive them legally bc their license was taken away for racing or they don't meet the laws in the state bc they are overtuned in some states for the roads. Ie: if you bought one in California you'd have to have the thing de-tuned. I just want to be able to go fast when I need/want to, I don't need a racecar.

  • @Ra11iArt All cars are capable of much more. I barely spent $200 for a tactrix, and got it tuned to make 40/40+ hp/tq on a single 93 tune

  • @MrPreludeTurbo IL is known for having mediocre test numbers. I know the Ralliart isn't blindingly fast, but I almost choked when I saw 6.6s to 60.

  • The 0-60 is about 5 to 6 seconds depending on the driver/tires/mods.

    The WRX doesn't destroy it, fanboys. Put the same tires on both and they are close in all areas. WRX slightly wins some and Ralliart slightly wins some.

    There is almost no turbo lag to begin with and brake torques are like child abuse to the car.

  • It only depends on the driver since we are talking about stock cars ass. Put tires/mods and no more stocks. Putting the same tires are like comparing the same damn car.

  • Brake torque that 0-60 and you will be in the 5.5 to 5.8 second range. Some reviews have gotten 5.5 out of it. Maybe this one isnt broken in it either?

    Sick AWD system too. Snow, Tarmac and Gravel settings really make real world driving a lot safer.

  • Why didnt they spool the turbo up on the brake before their 0-60 run? Other reviews I have read have chopped a half second off the time doing that.

  • yes this is an expensive dirt slow cart...however the evo x is a really quick car thats expensive that is really mod friendly. spend maybe 2k and you can get that bad boy at 400hp to the wheels

  • @pyromaniacbob This isn't expensive, its priced at about £18,000 BRAND NEW. Used will cost slightly less. And in real life you don't need a car that does above 120mph. Honestly.

  • maybe in the UK, but in Texas it costs around 25k, and the base GSR Evo costs 34k. For the performance differences I'd go evo. And its not about hitting 120mph since I know you cant really do that in the UK with all their city roads :). But its more of how fast you get to 120 mph!

  • the wrx sti has a 0-60 of 4.4 seconds and is in the same price range. Subaru makes some of the best rally cars now, and it reflects their street performance as well.

  • There are alot of cars that you can buy used for cheap and make faster then these cars. For stock they are pretty quick. Even more fun in the snow.. lol

  • I'm not talking about a dodge neon or a honda civic, the IS300 is one of the most reliable cars on the market.

    Don't forget that the 2000 nissan skyline r34 is also similarly priced, and is also awd.

  • I wasn't talking about a neon or a civic. I never said the IS want reliable it has a 2jz in it. I know its reliable. There are other others forgotten or not to be spoken of. Also yes a r34 is about that price but i will be that isn't for one registered in the us.. Most registered ones I have seen are anywhere from 64k up to 84k..

  • The skyline R35 is 80 grand, upon its release the older models price was literally cut in half. 0-60 in 3.2 for the same price as the gtr34, why would it retain that 80k value?

    Btw the gtr34 isn't an american car, it must be assembled after buying parts out of Japan, therefore the producer can charge whatever he wants as it's nearly impossible to get the car yourself.

  • The ralliart is weak is heavy and under powered. people can talk all they want but as an example a 09 cobalt ss is better in every way. the ralliart is awd and is still slow as molasses. the cobalt even is faster 0-60 now thats sad. As for the quarter mile the cobalt is in a whole another league. My good friend has an 09 ralliart so i know it is a cheesy and WAY overrated

  • Actually, the best 0-60 numbers I could find for both cars is 5.6 seconds 0-60 for the Cobalt and 5.3 0-60 for the Ralliart, the main problem with the ralliart is the tires, a few sites swapped the stock Yokohama tires for some stickier rubber and it scored a .90g on the skid pad and beat the 09' WRX. Not to mention you have to seriously brake torque the Ralliart for those 0-60 numbers, but that not a big deal.

  • umm the ralliart is a cross car not a super tuner like the Evo.. the cobalt SS is a beast but the ss is out of the ralli's league.. 

    i think of the SS as the new Srt4's

  • they launched from idle from the looks of it. road & track got a 0-60 in 5.3 and 14.2ish @ 97mph with slight powerbraking. nice car, and wouldnt mind havin one, but for the money, id take a turbocharged cobalt ss (seen one do a 13.7 stock@103mph), and pocket a few thousand dollars id save for performance parts :P

  • The 09 Ralliart STOCK is 240, the 2004 Ralliart STOCK is 162. I think it is dumb that they underpowered it for almost as much as a 09 EVO. BUT it is still a sexy car, plus it is just as fun. I think it just depends on how you look at it.  I know more people like the older Evos, I know I did, but I like the new designs.

  • What the hell? Awful launch, but I guess that it's because of the stupid paddle shifter. 0-60 time and 1/4 mile time were a lot worse than the WRX.

    But it looks like the Ralliart is faster from 80MPH+.

  • It actually came in pretty close to it's competitors, I think the only car that beat it is the MazdaSpeed3, and it's was due to power mostly. 1. Price isn't bad when comparing it to a actual Evo. 2. It's heavy but worth the weight. 3. Underpowered was the goal, (Releasing a car with almost evo specs for less cost). 4. With paddle shifters and a sports shifter its just the performance of a manual just easier.

  • Dude, old Ralliarts were a lot worse than this. Nobody was expecting this, nobody was anticipating. What showed up was a surprise to the motoring world. We were expecting another boring, non-turbo, FWD lancer ralliart. This is quite a step up, and its a hell of a lot of fun to drive im sure.

  • For the price they want for it they better make it more impresssive than the old one. And it would be impossible for this car to be any fun to drive because it's automatic...and that pretty much sucks every possible drop of fun out of a car so...it's still pretty much useless. Way to fuck up, mitsubishi. I truely hope they make a manual transmission version for it's second year once they realize their mistake.

  • I dont like driving manuals cause I sit in stop and go traffic a lot. Automatics just make life easier, and this auto can shift faster than anyone with a manual could so from a performane perspective I fail to see your point.

  • Well find a different route and avoid traffic or something or just have a daily driver to do your traffic driving and THEN have a nice sportier car. But for a sports car..Automatic is just garbage..I don't care if it's unbelievable faster..it's still automatic. Even the newer Ferrari's are garbage in my mind due to their stupid "flappy paddle" gear box. BRING BACK THE STICK!!

  • Totally wrong. The Lancer Ralliart is AWD and is F/I. How would a 2.0 liter I4 engine produce 237hp? With F/I of course, just like the WRX. Only Honda can make the most power from N/A engines. And the reason Mitsubishi made a Ralliart Lancer is to compete it against the WRX. Next time, please do not comment with false information.

  • its ok, the bad thing is if they wanna compete with the civic si and the wrx (not sti) they need to bring the price down to match those cars. the performcance is about right for the mid level mitsu ralliart, but the pricing is not much lower than the evo x, it has to be WELLLL UNDER 30k not just barely under it. they could have put the manual they put in the gsr evo tro save more money on production instead of the twin clutch which is faster to shift than a manual but it is more expensive.

  • It seems strange that they make this package so people don't have to pay for the pricer evo, yet the evo is already rather cheap for a really good sports car.

  • It's a good but not great car Mitsubishi needs to adjust it better and add a manual transmission because it'll be left in the dust if Mitsubishi doesn't step it up against the Subaru WRX but then again the new WRX is ugly unless it's hooked with a body kit.
