The _really_ incredible think was, that Alex drove laps fast enough to qualify somewhere in row 2 or 3. He was even faster than Mario Haberfeld, who's team prepared the special car for Alex...

He is very commited, enjoys racing. Shame he was not lucky in F1, but glad he is doing so well in WTCC.

he's obviously a GREAT driver as his success in CART and the WTCC has shown. not every racing driver takes to formula 1, but in the same token i personally believe that although F1 drivers are incredible. they are not the best drivers out there, its just that they are better suited to the cars than other drivers

Alex Zanardi is an amazing man. I've read his book My Sweetest Victory.  I would highly recommend reading it. It's an inspiring and uplifting book.

Alex never had a good time in F1 but in the CART series he was awesome, I remember many a race where I was practically jumping up n down in my seat watching him... what a hero and one of the most likeable drivers ever.

I met Alex at the British round of the World tourinG car championship last year. He's an amazing character very cheerful and always willing to sign autographs and talk to the fans. An inspiration to all us drivers for sure.
