If there's a study list, make it your meat and drink. Spell each word SLOWLY AND CLEARLY because accidentally stuttering a wrong letter will get you eliminated. If you don't know a word, go through different spellings in your head and go with the one that looks the most correct, that works a lot. Most school spelling bee words are easier than they look, so a lot of the time you can just spell a word just the way it sounds.
