  • A person wrote the fiction work entitled "the bible"

  • THESE VIDEOS ROCK!!!!!

  • Sorry premature with my last comment.... MAN WROTE THE BIBLE PERIOD!

  • This video does not help AT ALL!

  • lol a person

  • The Gentiles wrote the Bible........

  • man, i actually thought this was an atheist video post.it was like a poor mans edward currant. if people are this gullible, what future for mankind if no one can think out of the box. very sad indeed.

  • harry potter makes for more entertaining reading, when it comes to fiction, the bible is extremly lame in comparison

  • @kram83au Don't read it as fiction then.

  • i do mean write and not wrote cuz it is probably still being written, hahahaha

  • Chuck Norris write the bible

  • @man017 no that would mean that chuck norris got it wrong. chuck norris is never wrong.

  • }{-D

  • LOL, hilarious how misleading this is.

  • I thought this was going to be a RATIONAL explanation but when he said "by God" I thought wrong...

  • 3:00 "Canonisation was a process guided by God" is a baseless assumption.

  • Written by humans - true. Inspired by god? - No, I don't think so.

  • I don't get why you had to say the Council of Nicea was inspired by God. You said that they did their research on the subject, and no God needed to hold a giant magnifying glass. Although, they probably left out a few books that would/should be considered "inspired"

  • @Mectrixctic Um, if they weren't inspired by God, that means they could have made a mistake and there might be books that are untrue. Also, they definitely prayed a LOT while they looked into each book. So, unless God isn't real, the Bible must be inspired by Him, and totally true (if I was God, I wouldn't want my holy book full of lies, would I?)

  • @JakobDailes

Yeah, just like how everything we know about history were written by normal men not inspired by God and not totally true. Although we know for sure that several parts of the bible aren't true (like the Exodus) so it makes sense if God didn't inspire the whole thing.

But then again God isn't real, so the books aren't inspired at all. If I was God I'd make myself more apparant.

  • @Mectrixctic I was speaking as if God is real, dude. Could you save the jargon for a video actually having to do with Christianity vs. Atheism. Cuz when you make comments like that on a purely Christian vid, it just makes you look rude.

  • @JakobDailes

Hey, this video brought the topic up. And you said if God inspired the Bible it would be 100% true. It isn't, so God musn't have inspired the whole thing were he to exist.

  • excellent informative video

  • @OttomanEMPIREOppress

You need to watch the video again. Scholars of the time rejected the so-called "gospels" you list. If you want to find people who accept them, you have to look to modern revisionists, who seem to think they are smarter than the scholars of the time.

Also, Paul was accepted by his contemporaries, who were themselves contemporaries of Jesus; and Paul did meet Jesus.

Meanwhile, who might be telling you these untruths about Paul? Maybe a false prophet?

  • @draagon66 -

Hopefully they will also ask questions of atheists, like "Why did the universe pop into existence? Why are the laws of physics, the Milky Way galaxy, our solar system and the Earth-moon system finely tuned to allow life on Earth? Why, after over 50 years, is SETI such a dismal failure? Why do you care about this video? About anything? Why is Jesus the center of history?"

Little thought makes a skeptic out of a believer. Much thought makes a believer out of a skeptic.

  • @MrReasonforhope

Don't ask atheists - ask astrophysicists.

The universe is NOT fine-tuned for life on earth. Life forms arde the result of adaptation to an existing or changing environment.

I don't know why there are no results from SETI. Do you? Again, ask someone who might provide an answer and not direct your question to atheists.

I care about many things. I care about truth as an example.

Is JC the centre of history? Maybe that's how you see it. I don't.

  • @CheesesPeaks2U

    1. You have misunderstood evolution. Life *may* adapt to an existing or changing environment, but it does not arise as a result of adaptation.

    2. Re SETI, I was responding to an atheist, who decided to do an arrogant drive-by against a Sunday school video.

    3. I didn't ask if you care. I asked why. The irrationality of atheism is not just a matter of logic. It's existential.

    4. JC is the center of history. It's a fact, whether you say "BC" and "AD or "BCE" and "CE".

  • @MrReasonforhope

1: Sure. Life 'may' adapt and, if not, it 'may' cause extinction of that species. I don't misunderstand at all but, then again, i am not a biologist. Try talking to one

2: Are you in full knowledge that extra-terrestrial life does NOT exists somewhere?.

3: You ask 'why'. i say that I don't. Thus the 'why' aspect is irrelevant.

4: That is your personal view and not mine. History is written by those who wish you to know what they want you to know. Times have changed. You - fixed.

  • @CheesesPeaks2U

    1. You confused the evolution of life with the origin of life. I have spoken with many biologists and have studied biology myself.

    2. I pointed out that, after a 50 year search (so far), not a shred of evidence for ET life - except maybe for one Being you don't want to find?

    3. So you say you care, but you don't care about why you care. Is this your idea of logic or reason?

    4. Is everyone using a different calendar now? I missed that.

I wonder how you know I am "fixed".

  • @MrReasonforhope

1: I confused nothing. You grasp at straws. I, too, have studied biology and am not interested in a pissing contest with a dreamer.

2: Even you can't find a god. Stop looking? Meanwhile, what are the odds of life elsewhere in the universe? Any idea?

    3: Yes.

4: Calendars have changed. Did you not get the memo?

This conversation is of such diminished interest to me that this is my last response. I know from experience how futile it is to converse with those with closed minds.

  • @CheesesPeaks2U

    Futile?

You refuse to admit numerous factual mistakes about science and history. You make unprovoked attacks on the faith of other people. You admit that you have no reason to care about the things you care about. You jump to conclusions about people you don't know. Then you fire off one last flaming denial of God's existence and head for the hills.

I hope, though, that it is not futile to converse with the closed-minded. There is always hope that they might change.

  • @OttomanEMPIREOppress Paul met Jesus on the road to Damascus. He saw the glory of Christ, thus why he was blind.

  • This is one SANE creation.. This is not just Theological but also The LOGICAL one too!!!

I'm pretty sure people of every religion, region, be it theists or Atheist who use their 'Reasons' will accept it.

Except the orthodox - who is so imbibed in their belief to every cells of them(unfortunate!!) & the..

Religious Leaders(of course the church!) - Who makes their 'Fortunes' and power out of their theology!!!

  • They're some cool animations.

  • This video clip and the rest of them (I bought the package and have reviewed it all) is really good. I know the kids will pay attention to it. And whether the leader agrees with the stuff or not (I happen to agree with the theology) it provides a MUCH better jumping off point for dialogue than some boring lecture about names and dates of books (scrolls), councils and controversies. It is the essence of the Christian faith that leaders need to impart in order to confirm our youth.

  • This is awesome. *big thumbs up* I particularly like the use of the pentecostal flames to indicate inspiration. :-D Good deal!

  • As a pastor who is teaching confirmation, and who has found himself feeling like I needed to write my own curriculum for years, I am excited to see what the products you come out with looks like. This looks age-appropriate and challenging for students, rather than an imparting of facts.

Thank you for your work, I look forward to seeing what comes next.

  • Hope to see more vids like these... Fantastic stuff, stimulating and engaging, great launchpad for conversation...

  • very good sense of humore

  • There could be a little more information for teens about the measures with which the church councils used to canonize the Scriptures (i.e., when to use pseudonymous works like Hebrews versus not). But overall, this is a very easy and informative video. Well done.

  • Glad you enjoyed it! It's actually just an introductory video to open up an entire session of confirmation. Its not meant to be comprehensive. :)
