No one ever recognizes male dnacers before the seventies, what a shame since they were the most elegant actors and talent in feats that go unnoticed!!
Perfection is about perfect movements. There has been hundreds of ballerinas with it. But very few of them invite you beyond the borders of perfect movements, to where they are being born. As you see them being born, you gasp because of mystery.
And does anyone know whether this is the original choreography? I'm doing a school work about choreographies and I have to talk about Fokine.. Thank you!
asde. You will always have doubters. You are the only one who knows the truth about this. Anything is possible, and history changes all the time as new facts are revealed. Galina is a true treasure to the Soviet people and to the world. Her dancing is everything and more.
beautifully simple... none of the exaggerated movements, elongated arms or mannerisms... she went right to the point of classicism with genuine feeling... her whole body sings and expresses
Yes, it is absolutely stunning with Ulanova the ultimate Giselle and Fadeyechev, a perfect Albrecht and danseur noble, always beautifully supporting his ballerina.
This is a response I received from the official Galina Ulanova website in Russia: "Please, note that Ms. Ulanova was a graduate from the Vaganova dance school in S.Petersburg (16.05.1928) and she was a pupil of Vaganova herself. Mrs. Ulanova had no children though she married several times. She passed away at the age of almost 90 in 1999."
Seriously, you are the great grandchild of Galina Ulanova? What a heritage to come from! Did you have to opportunity to know her? She is one of the supremely gifted artists of the 20th century.
How she could be grandchild (or whatever) if Ulanova NEVER had children. This is her fantasies. Happened often. Suddenly appearing children and grandchildren of celebrities...Even if this person grandchild of one of Ulanova's husbands, still her name cannot be Ulanova..Ulanova always had her father's name , never took husband's names. On the other side this is simple russian last name and may be she IS Ulanova but absolutely no connection..
So beautiful ,I have no words for this!

You are welcome! A newly released DVD has just come out of a legendary Giselle danced by Ulanova and Nikolai Fadeyechev. It's quite stunning.

I just checked in Wikipedia, a site devoted to her which I found on Ask Jeeves, and even good old "Pravda!"
They all just talked about her dancing. No mention of hubby or kids. She died about 5 years ago. :(
