There are 7 moving parts: 1) the inner ring assembly, 2) the outer ring assembly, 3) intake valves, 4) exhaust valves, 5) inner ring pinion shaft, 6) outer ring pinion shaft, and 7) chamber seam seals.
After all it is an internal combustion engine and they are famous for producing lots of heat. Other than an inboard-outboard marine application where cooling is asumed to be water from the outside of the vessel how are you handling it?
@hetmanbasza It depends on the application like you mentioned. Fins could be cut into the outside surfaces to make use of the motion of the engine to help cooling. And/or liquid cooling passages could be added to the inner ring and outer ring assembly to control heat transfer and thermal growth. We are currently using FEA thermal models to help with material selection, fin design, and component shape to optimize heat conduction away from the combustion chambers.
@hetmanbasza We have been successful at running a smaller version of this enigne for 15 minutes using traditional materials. There is a video on YouTube, titled HiPerTEC: Torodial, Opposed, Free Piston Engine (HT4), of this engine running for over 4 mintues. The thermal design is the next technical challenge to tackle.
The main difference with the MYT engine is our engine does not have a crankshaft(s). The HiPerTEC is a free piston engine. Which means the HiPerTEC is capable of variable compression ratios (CRs) without making modifications to the engine parts. For example we can start at a low CR to lessen the requirements of the starter and then operate in high CR mode to get higher efficiency.
How many moving parts? Compared to Raphial's MYT engine what's the main differance?
HP vs Displacement? Fuel type? Just a few questions that leap to mind...

What about thermal properties? Cooling needs etc.

Fuel type is low CR fuel like gasoline to high CR fuel like diesel or JP5. Estimated 190hp @ 5000 rpm, 20:1 CR, 1.5L.

One difference is that our pistons do not rotate 360deg around the main axis. Our pistons reciprocate through a small arc about the main axis.

opposing pistons , variable compresion ratio, complet torque throught the strokes, high volumetric effeciancey did i leave any thing out ?

@MrDreamer3000 Nope. You got the main points.
