For the Lord says you are NOT to have any carved images of stone,wood of any likeness of that in Heaven or the earth beneath(demons,devils)or that is in the water-Ex20:4. Bad news for any one wearing Jesus on the cross dying-that is a mockery of his death in my book.Just wear a plain cross or if you want 2 get a tattoo of him on your body is okay,just not an image made out of wood or stone.Christ has a mark on his thigh Rev.19:16

I'm sorry maybe I'm missing something but that statue was a man made idol, not JESUS. Just something made by man. Why would GOD protect an idol when he commands there are sinful? A man-made idol has so menaing or influence on the words of the Bible, the words of God, that Jesus is lord.
