One reason I love this series is that it makes an effort to try and stray into the "cloudy" parts of history so that events (however unlikely) at least has a chance of actually happening. For instance, the circumstances surrounding Pope Alexander VI (Rodrigo Borgia) was very mysterious; both Cesare and Rodrigo were very ill after a dinner, and while Cesare survived, Rodrigo didn't. Even stranger, his corpse showed extreme decomposition only a few days after dying, suggesting unnatural causes...
I believe it has been speculated that Cesare really did poison his father. However, according to historical accounts, Alexander VI's death was slow and painful.
I was disappointed that you didn't get to kill him yourself. Its one of those things you ended up looking forward to for so long as you played the game. I wanted to thrust my blade into his fat neck, and end his despicable reign over Rome, and end his corrupt Papacy once and for all.
i didnt realy like how he died, he just got an apple shoved in his face. how the real Rodrigo Borgia died was wayyyyyyy worse. his stomac melted and his colon and intestines bled for days, and his inards rotted and melted, he died a slow painful death. but he deserved everything he got, he was a corrupt peice of filth. he deserved everything bad that happened to him.
man that's one fucked up family. Rodrigo was templar leader and killed hundreds in AC2 cesare was an evil little bastard and lucrezia was abused by her own father and brothers
In real life when he died, his face turned purple, his stomach turned to liquid, his skin began to peel off, and he crapped out his own intestines. -__-
i would have rather Rodrigo died in assassins creed 2... at the end the battle was much more epic than shoving an apple into someone's mouth. Would have been a much better ending to his life
sooo this says that fruit is epicly stupid coz it just killed Pope Alexander VI and now everybody thinks that apples are little bitches full of dark life that will kill us and we will not see AC Revelation?WOW that is fucking epic apples suck for life :D :D :D
Good heavens this fruit display is dreadfully out of order. I'll have to arrange it like so- oh freaking great, here comes beardo pestering me with his problems again. I had the apple but then the assassin's took the apple, then I killed the guy's uncle and got the apple now he's trying to stab me - Cold Case is on in fifteen minutes, I tell him, the french fries in the oven are burning, I tell him, but does he care? No.
Geez, I almost felt bad for old Pope Porky watching this. Well, it's like they say, spare the rod spoil the child. First their pressuring you to let them borrow the car, the next their shoving poisoned apples down your throat and trying to gain world domination using an ancient artifact given to humanity by an extinct humanoid race. Kids. They never learn.
@breeeegs Even though hes not the best person in the world it was hard for me not to like him he just seemed awesome.... and come on dont start saying kids never learn im a kid and im pretty good i guess just not the thing to do with this video
i dont have the game yet.. and at school we just started learning about the renaissance... it seems so interesting!!! i have AC2 and i loved it!!! planning to get this soon. and cesare killed his brother...
Ubisoft really captured the essence of the Borgia family I feel. This is what they were like in real life! When I went to Rome last week I went to Rodrigo Borgia (AKA Pope Alexander VI)'s appartment where Cesare Borgia killed Lucrezia's husband!
His death was followed by scenes of wild disorder. When the body was examined the next day, it had a puncture wound on the stomach, most likely from a hidden blade all assassins used. Writing in his Liber Notarum, Burchard elaborates: "The face was very dark, the color of a dirty rag or a mulberry, and was covered all over with bruise-colored marks. Some believe he was poisoned with cantarella
I liked Rodrigo, he was my favourite villain. he was EPIC.
Just look how he stands, if he only let Cesare to go for the apple of eden, cesare would've ate more of the poisonous apple and died. while rodrigo would've survived.
@metalman161 I think Its a tie with Ac1 and Acb, then bloodlines, the naltair's chornicles, then project legacy, then its a tie between ac2 and discovery.
@akistoki: The Borgia are a spanish-italian family with Rodrigo originating from spain. That's why he was called "The Spaniard" in Assassin's Creed 2, until he was elected as pope in 1492.
Rodrigo was the biggest asshole and the main enemy in AC2.. But here? What did he do? He only sat on his back, and waiting for something. He's the leader of the Templars in Italy isn't it? Okay, he's an old man now but...I waited for that moment, when Ezio cuts off Rodrigo's, and Cesare's head. But die like this? Rodrigo deserved a honorable death like this. But Cesare's was good. In AC3 I wait for that, when Desmond cuts off Viddic's head, and Lucy's respawn..
well the people who saw it said they had never seen anything like it before." It has been suggested that, having taken into account the unusual level of decomposition, Rodrigo was accidentally poisoned to death by his son, Cesare, with Cantarella" wiki besides as the assassins say nothing is true
This is why I love Ceasre he's so ruthless and arrogant he cares not of how he gets something but just to take it. He deems himself above man and his laws he would go so far as to kill his own brother to claim higher rank.
The quote "If I want to live, I live, If I want to Take, I Take, and if I want you to Die, you DIE!!!" is a perfect example of Ceasre and his monstrous personality he belongs in the greatest video game villain at number #1
If I were Ezio I would have looked her straight in the eye and told her this: "Leave this place. Leave and go somewhere far away where nobody knows you or what you have done. Your life thus far has been one abomination after another. Leave. Leave and start over. Start over and live clean." :-|
@MrRainpe Indeed. It was also a mistake to attack Lucrezia and tell her he never loved her. If he hadn't done that, then Lucrezia wouldn't have betrayed him, so Ezio wouldn't know where the apple is, so Cesare could've gotten the apple first.
@wiiguy145 They had an incestuous relationship. At an earlier point in the game you see them kiss very intimately, and he says something along the lines of, once he conquers everything she will be his queen. I'm pretty sure he also gropes her at that point. He also gets ferociously jealous when she has 'secret' lovers (something she does to keep him loyal to her) and will have them killed so that she is only his.
It is also implied, that she does incestuous things with her father; though
@Omnikron228: It's kind of great that he turned away from being a villian. Well, sort of. He was never responsible for the stuff that happened to Ezio through the course of the game. He just wanted to secure his position in Italy and even tried to get rid of Cesare. I liked that little twist.
Is it me, or does the voice of Cesare Borgia sound a lot like the voice of Francesco De'Pazzi from Assassin's Creed II?
