  • Just saying pratically, tapping on pointe is pretty useless for stuff like wings, because doing one of those en pointe-well 'nuff said really, although they do look quite funky1 i'd like to see you not holding onto something. (if you are, it looks like it)

  • Can you help me? I want to know were did/can you find the ballet taps.

  • Whoa... awesome :D ...wish I could do that...

...my great grandnar used to tap en pointe too (:

  • LOL IS SHE A RAINDEER THE NOISE SOUNDS LIKE IT NO OFFENCE IM NOT TRYING TO BE MEAN BUT THIS IS GOOD

  • That's so cool! I sometimes try things en pointe in my split sole tap shoes. It would be nice to have a pair of tap pointe shoes, though:)

  • zorrorevenge can hook you up, he is the one that makes them, and the only one in the states right now that does, there might be many machinests that can make them, but you have to have the right design to do it, and it would cost alot more. he is on youtube just search other toe tap videos, and find his comments, then instant message him on youtube, if you want them or want to know more about them.

    manga12

  • Where do you get these? I really really want a pair. Good job btw too♥

  • Does anyone else really, REALLY want to see a ballet/irish dance crossover? I think the movements of each compliment eachother....

    Awesome shoes x

  • @SobrietyandSolace there is a type of irish dance shoe where it is soft, as in it looks more like a ballet shoe than tap. try typing soft shoe irish dancing.

  • @CatRoyalAudio I'm aware of that... I think most people are more familiar with the soft-shoe kind. But I mean a purposely choreographed piece showing of authentic irish dance moves with ballet, comparing and contrasting certain movements. Group (and heavily footwork oriented pieces like the Four Cygnets from Swan Lake are more suited to irish dance. battement frappes, brise, echappes and entrechat would be suitable I think... It'd just be so cool...

  • @calypsogir1 where did you get you toe taps?! i need a pair!

  • i think the main thing you need to work on here is confidence. you're wonderful keep it up

  • why did you just jump onto pointe you could seriouly hurt yourself

    have fun'

  • @ILovePointe100 i think she has been doing pointe for a wile if she tried tap en pointe

  • i dont know why everyon is freakin out you are obvously well trained :) i like it

  • that sounds like shit

  • my nan used to do this:)

  • Good Job! im impressed and jelous (:

  • nossa muito 10

eu adoro sapateado e ballet e ela conseguio juntar os 2

    adorei

  • Isn't that more dangerous than regular pointe shoes? O.O

  • Looks like a good way to break an ankle. They're not very nice to look at either. Sorry.

  • this reminds me of the cadbury cow add doing tap ;P

  • dont pay any of these rude comments any attention. if the people posting them knew anything about dance, they wouldn't be wasting their time bullying people on the internet. great job :)

  • my goodness, your flooring is going to be soooo scratched. my mum would be so mad at me if i did that XD

  • @AbbieSparks buahaha, same here.

  • I know it's your first attempt but I feel like puking now.

  • toe tap isn't even real you dumb ass.

  • @DevandSam1221 why are there shoes for it then smarts

  • @DevandSam1221 actually it was quite popular around the 20's and 40's but fell out of popularity due to the dangers to your feet. But now some people still do it and certain dance stores sells shoes for it :)

  • @sunshine0shenanigans it also fell out of popularity because of world war II since the armies needed the metal to make weapons. so the taps either got too expensive or some companies stopped making them.

  • Sorry to bug you, but I was wondering where you get these. I have been searching for some time now and I just can't find them! I hope to hear from you!

  • sooo cool!

  • No offense, but it looks pretty painful, and why are the taps on the tips of the point shoes, not the bottom??

  • one, i LOVE your shoes! and two, what kind of training do you have to go through to be able to dance like that? i figure you'd start with ballet and tap, but is there a special class for combining both?

  • This is great, you're a talented dancer :) Is there metal underneath the shoes as well? Btw, did you buy these as so or did you attach the metal yourself? great job :)

  • Wow! That's really impressive and kind of sexy too. Well done! Are there many women who do this? Has there been any kind of show or score written for Ballerina Tap en Pointe?

  • Que maravilla¡¡¡, no habria imaginado esto... quien lo inventó?

  • where did you get your shoes they r well coll

  • why?!

  • Holy Showza. I take tap and I know how hard it is to get the right sounds on the beat. I can't imagine doing it on pointe ;]

  • that is just so cool!

  • That's an amazing idea :L

Is it metal plates you've got underneath on the bottom of the pointe shoes?

    :)

  • i think pointe shoes with taps are kinda dumb sorry but that is wat i think and you are good

  • i think it lks lyk a horse :S

  • that was so cool! you rock! i take dance too!!

  • where do u get the toe taps?

  • i heard they used to do this a lot in like the 30's too....but that they stopped because it was killer for your joints...pretty cool though

  • cool! i want a pair!

  • That was UGLY!!

  • well have you ever tapped WHILE on point? Its hard enough just trying to stay up on point for that long

  • Nevermind, I just went roaming around on the subject. That's awesome. It still seems like it would limit though because on pointe you're supposed to keep your knees straight, can't use your heels for tap, and then it would really suck to do the jumps and stuff. Really neat though. I'll have to try this some time!

  • I honestly don't see the point. It limits the sounds you would be able to make,

  • you can put the taps of the heel and the top

  • Didn't people do that a lot in the 30s, but then they stopped cos it was dangarous, like the metal shanks can snap or smoething, but like they used to put ball bearings on the bottom for piroettes and fouttes

  • my dance teacher told me that the most dangerous thing was that they used to use really young girls (like 9 or 10 years old) to do this type of dancing and it ruined their feet because the bones were too soft for pointe in the first place, let alone tap and pointe at the same time!

  • how dangerous is this? seriously! I do both and pointe's dangerous enough but combining the two...it's impressive admittedly but ridiculous!

  • where do you get these?! My studio has been looking for them!! any help would be great!

  • can u do $ count pickups on those????

  • whats the point of this? just take tap>>> shiesh

  • shouldnt you say whats the 'pointe' of this, hehehe

  • @elie3689 LOL I WAS ABOUT TO SAY THE SAME THING AHAHAH

  • I have these too :) heehee they are sooo fun! i also have regular pointe shoes with taps on the bottom, so I can be "graceful" on releve, then come down and just tap tap tap away! great job, especially holding that long, are you using a bar?

  • then please show us its so hard to find any performace of tapping en pointe. known as toe tap, many of us would greatly like it.

  • dangerous. dont ever do that again.

  • you dont seem to understand that this has been an artfrom since the late 1800's that is why the bottoms are scored so you dont slip as much, and she has been dancing for many years I know of her from dance net, trust me she knows what she can and cannot do.

  • wouldnt that be like really slippery?

  • no it likely isn't

  • well actually i can imagine so because i tap dance and do pointe and taps are slippery...

  • well they are a little slippery but um yeah

  • i have never seen this before

    haha

    interresting;;:)

  • how long has she been on pointe?

  • where did u get those????

  • that was brilliant... beyond words. can you message me on here and let me know where i can find lessons to do pointe tap? or send me videos that i can teach myself with so i can teach it to my own students. thanks!

  • that is so dumb take one or the other or both just not combined

  • Omg, tdsmeg4, I am the same way: As if pointework already isn't dangerous enough, yeah, let's add some metal to the tips of em lol Talk about a dangerous feat

  • Comment removed

  • where do you get toe taps like these?

  • If anyone finds any please let me know

  • If that was your first try, I'm really impressed!

  • Haha i luv it! id kill myself in the frocess of trying haha :D you should try to do wings! thatd be interesting

  • i tried doing wings en pointe and almost fell down a flight of stairs..lmfao xD

  • Lol wow haha careful now :]

  • wow that looks really hard to do...cuz with pointe shoes you have tight feet and with tap you have to have lose feet!!! kudos for you!!!

  • thats pretty cool

  • Oh dang. My mom would KILL me if I did that on our hardwood floors. But-very cool, needless to say.

  • owch! that looks beyond dangerous!

  • where did you get your toe taps?????

  • My pointe shoes sound like that without taps on them lol!

  • how does wearing pointe shoes with taps on them count as a disgrace? its really not that big of a deal... i mean YOUR not wearing them so y should u even care?

  • im sorry it just freaked me out a lil

  • @lovecampeltesoro And you can't even spell dumb. (:

  • -.-'

    what the hell

  • Isn't that nice.

  • yea lots of nice mean people out there. So are you going to keep them comming, there is soo little toe tap out there, most of it is over 50 years old.

You are a mysterious one calypso you dont say much, I know you say you have done dance for years but you never show your face or even say where you are from or how old you are. Even on the other site, though I do admire someone that keeps alive an old art, kind of like stainglass window making, or blacksmithing.

  • Excelente

  • when i was in ballet the other day, my dance teacher came out with these pointe shoe with taps on. the wwhole class was like woah cuz we are learning on our pointes and it is quite hard you know! then we asked her to do a dance in them and t was amazing. she said shes never seen anyone else actually dance in them before and it was her solo dance when she was younger. well of course i just had to go and find some videos of it. its amazing!! well done.

  • okay so i have heard this rumor about toe taps, but always thought it was an old wives tale... it is so exciting seeing the real thing. i hope you become great at it! i know some people that would kill to be in your shoes... literally. ha ha. please post more... would love to see your progress!

  • I think you need to work on your brushes a little. That was really cool!!!!!!! I love those shoes!

  • That was soooo awesome!!! Where can I get those shoes? wait I kinda need pointe lessons first, dont I? really, really, really cool! But seriously where did you get those!?!?????!!!!!

  • WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR SHOES??!?!?!??!?! I've looked everywhere for some like that!!!!!!

  • she says she had them made for her by someone that used to make them, ask balletboxer about it I think he is the one that made them for her.

  • Thanks for the video. We couldn't find that kind of tap for the pointe shoe. I looked everywhere.

  • are you learning toe tap on your own or are you taking instruction?

  • ENCORE! ENCORE!

  • thats really cool

  • I started toe tapping in 1978 when I was 13 years old. I still have my first toe shoes with taps on them can you believe those shoes are now 30 years old. My taps are a little smaller than yours on the ends. I had first seen toe tap when I was at a dance convention in Charlotte NC.. so I asked my dance teacher if I could try. I was the only one in Statesville NC who had performed it. I could do various tap steps including pull backs. It takes a lot of stength in legs and pulling up in stomach.

  • Lovely! Just improvising you're toetapping better than most toughtout routines that I've seen! Great Stuff. Paul's really did a nice job on your toetaps. Please do post more of our toetapping!

    On Pointe

    Ben

  • Way to go, Calypso! I've never seen anybody jump up en pointe in those things before. They sound terrific! Thank you and Paul so much for the video and the excellent equipment. Keep us posted on your progress with this most difficult tap dance. Beautiful!!

  • Well thats a first. happy I stayed up till twelve thirty. That was loud and Those shuffles are not bad got the right motion going. You must have some very solid taps they are so loud they sound like you were useing a hammer.

But, what Do I know I am just a hip hop dancer lol. Seriously to put it up on the web where millions can see is something brave to do for a first attempt at it.

Keep them comeing and practice lots.

  • thanks so much!!! I know my timing's off in places, but this was my first attempt to put a couple different steps together. I also missed a couple sounds.

I must say, the most comfortable way to be in these shoes is en pointe. They are SOOOO well made for my feet that I actually prefer standing en pointe rather than flat.
