  • the muscle transfer looks so bad, theres no way that is good for you

  • omg life has so many funny coicidences, i never see anyone do neutral grip pullups, and i was trying to see if there effective and the second i thought that i clicked this video, and heres this guy doing exacly what i do with the exact same machine lmao...good on ya! ;)

  • @DefyingGravity1893 You're so right about tose coincidnces or synchroncities. Anyway, he did a tremendous job, but I think he could've gotten even more reps; he seemed to be adjustin his grip durng some of his reps.

  • can someone please tell me what band sing that song and inbox me it

  • Say whatcha need to say, say whatcha need to say...I'm not a perfect person...lol

  • Just curious. Whats your max reps at just bodyweight?

  • gotta ask does ur build make it easier cause i'm built like you n am making huge progress in comparison to a dude whos the same weight as me but much shorter any idea at all man?

  • i saw sum guy at my gym do 30 like this

  • Very nice! That is just over what I did as a max last year (I did a max of 92.5 lbs but not 5 reps).

85 I could do 5 reps. My grip is the same too, at that diagonal angle. This is by far the most natural and comfortable grip for pullups/chinups. My second favorite is commando grip now, but I cannot handle nearly as much weight that way (and risk injury if I try).

  • alot of people have no idea what kind of strength this takes,,my hat goes off to you!!

  • @sandeep1990 Its cause he explodes with the lats and catches himself on his biceps and pulls himself up from there. I'm not saying this is a good thing just breaking it down.

  • the video starts and ends with him in the same position

  • .....Where else is he supposed to stop at? You want to watch him walk around the gym?

  • cool im from MN too!

  • Its a cross between the two. Technically it is a neutral grip.

  • omg, i did these today with a single 45 lb plate. After my last rep i just decided to hang and strech out my spine. my back is killing me now.

  • why were u jerking or stopping when u were pulling urself up?

    bone issue? or something?

  • I cant see the grip you got is that a chinup or a pullup?

  • That's awesome!!!! great form

  • Nice work mate!

I really hate those dangling weights though - especially as you waddle up to the bar hehe.

    Keep it up!

  • Thanks,

I will try to get some more videos posted on my lifting progress which is going well.

I am back up to 6x100lb. and on dips just had a pr of 160lb.

  • i think that grip is good enough for building huge forearm ? (correct me if i'm wrong )

  • Nice job man. I just upped my pull up weight and i'm doing 5x5 with 90 pounds and I feel like i'm about to get a hernia i'm pushin so hard haha. I give you extra props while listening to John Mayer under strenuous conditions :p

  • Thanks, I just got to workout my back for the first time in a month due to football which gave me tendonitis in the wrist and a pulled shoulder. Luckily I still got three sets of 4 with 90. I will begin posting hopefully some more videos soon. Before I had gotten 6x100 for one set but my pr is still around 135-145lb. Nov. 22nd I am going to be competing in a push-pull meet and am hoping to raise my DL pr by 35lb to hit 500+ raw.

  • hey, have u ever got a one arm pullup, because if uve maxed at 135, 145, at ur bodyweight u sohuld be able to do a one arm chin. also, is it ok to do deadlifts before weighted chins, will deadlifting make you worse off for your weighted pulls, ie is it like oding bench press then sohulder press, what i mean is will the DL's weaken oyu at all, im not sure they would as deadlift uses low back, glutes etc, and not really much biceps, or upper back, or lats which is what u use for weighted pulls.

  • Yes, I was able to do a one arm pull/chin up with both my right and left hand, but not currently, I am working back up to that level of pulling/arm power. Deadlifts do not necessarily affect your pullup but they can take a lot out of you in energy. I found that my pullups were better if I did not do deads first, but it is best to do compress exercises first such as deads and not after weighted pulls because it can weaken the tension in your back and its best to not play around with deads.

  • ok, so in terms of muscular fatigue, deads wont do much to affect your weighted pulls, so its more of an energy factor, right? so for what were you repping 135 for back in the days, i used to think oyu need 1 rep with your bodyweight added on, but it seems peoplee have tamed the one arm chinup, even with 1RM of just 60-70 percento f their bodyweight....

  • Yes but it is a matter of technique and extreme arm strength, because I was arnold concentration curling 70lb for 3 reps at a weight of 175-185lb. Absolutely if you can do 100% bodyweight pull up you should be able to do 2-3 OAC/OAP, check out { rogeair } for good form. Watch his opposite shoulder pull into the bar.

  • good job

  • I'm about 143 5-7 and get

    about

    25*16

    45*12

    50*10

    60*7

    70*4

    All best

Is this good for my weight or should I shut up? and by the way, I cant bench shit. My max is like 205. does that make any sense with regard to my pull ups?

  • Post a video of it and then I can tell you. But it all depends on what your goals are for your pullups. and considering your weight that is about normal but if you are only 5'6" or less then you should be a lot stronger due to leverage. How many OAC (one arm chins) are you up to? being light weight it should be easy for you to get to at least a couple.

  • those are REAL pull ups

    nicely done

  • wow!

how can you do that with these arms? Seriously

  • dude nice but your left shoulder like pops out...

  • I was a gymnast and my shoulders are really flexible.

  • great reps I like my traditional pull-ups, never had any shoulder problems from them.

  • same here but I find that I can lift more weight in this grip with aprx shoulder width spacing than in a traditional pull up. I finished this work out with 3 sets of 3-4 reps of 70lb pull-ups traditional grip.

  • Whats your max?

  • What grip? 135 palms facing chin, a while ago 125 traditional pull up. might be 135 I will try this next tuesday.

  • cool, I'm at 173 lbs for Pull-ups but trying to get 205

  • Have you heard of Marvin Eder of the 50-60's he performed 7-8 reps wide grip with 200lb at body weight of 198lb and a dip with two guys hanging from his legs totaling 434lb total weight 632lb he was also the third person in the US to bench 500+. my goal is to get 180lb for 1 rep and 100lb for 3 sets of 6. last tuesday I got 6,5,5,with 90lb for three sets.

  • I read about his dip but couldn't find anything about a pull-up

  • It was only mentioned once so kind of questionable but keeps me reminded of what the human body is capable of, he was also only around 5'8" with 19in. arms.

  • I found it but they said it was a chins maybe not not a pull-ups
