  • music does indeed calm the savage beast!) gotta love him!

  • Vocals are an A++++++

i wish they would do a movie on Marvin. But u GOTTA come correct and find a REAL actor to play him. Not an R&B singer who will be a box office draw. A real actress to play Tami too. Just like Hale played Dorothy Dandrige, they can get people to lip sync the songs.

R.I.P. Marvin...here's to hoping they put your life on the big screen sooner than later!!

  • Stop thanking "God" for Marvin Gaye. Thank Marvin Gaye for Marvin Gaye.

  • amazing

  • A genius we lost way too soon.....

  • i think this is his best song ever just damn

  • best singger ever, in my opinion

    RIP Marvin

  • It's like god kissed his voice . Beautiful sound.

  • Why did i cry, why do the words, and this sweet voice touch my heart and soul so, Because music is the soul of the man, music makes a happy day, music makes the clouds roll by baby, music kissed my tears and dried my eyes....WHATTTT??? Marvin is something else, that words just cannot describe.

  • Marvin Gaye’s is the artist that I most identify with.

I tried emulate his music earlier in my life.

    This brother was so sensual…

His Music did provide sexual healing for many of us during lovemaking

The first time I made love, “I want You” was playing on my cassette deck.

His music helped me, and HEALED during some very trying times……

These songs are dedicated to Nicci. Girl you were my first love

I think of you often….Thank You for allowing me in your life

  • The whole song is GREAT, but, 2;53-4;00 just blows me away!!!

  • For those of you wondering, this is from a 2 CD set call Midnight Love: The Studio Sessions. It includes (1) the full length commercial LP and (2) a compilation of various unreleased versions of various cuts from the album including the original studio version (heard here) I've Got My Music. It includes a booklet about Marvin and the origins of his last LP. Interestingly, he was going to release this (clean) version but changed his mind and rewrote the lyrics that implied his sexual prowness.

  • So soulful!

  • THIS SHIT IS HOT ! GOTTA LOVE N RESPECT GOOD MUSIC..

  • This had to be recorded after his death, cause only heaven can produce like this. Every modern day R&B "artist" should make this there they're insprarion

  • superb

  • i.cant. stop.listening.to.it !!!!!!!

  • Can you send this file to me? This is great!

  • I think it's safe to say that he can hear the music in his head as he sings, or at least, that's the way it sounds to me.

  • This has got to be THE baddest acappella version of any song I have ever heard. Goodness gracious, Marvin is doing it all....and it all sounds so freakin' good!!!!!!!!!!! The brotha was filled with talent.......damn I miss Marvin!!!

  • The Devil's Industry Killed this GOD

  • marvin had it all the look, voice, he pretty much owned everything!!

  • @RBCHILD4EV

you didn't hear about it. The fool got so excited hearing Marvin sing this that he had a heart attack and fell on the dislike button as he died.

  • Without any doubt, and as far as soul music is concerned. Marvin Gaye is one of greatest vocalist of all time. He is gone but his music will never never never die. A true legend.

  • When Marvin died so did the true form of Soul Music....

  • his voice always gives me chills..

  • I was the assistant-engineer in Ohain, Belgium, when Marvin recorded this final album. Great souvenirs of a great man!

  • THIS MAN WAS THE BEST EVER RIP MARVIN....YOUNG KATS NEED TO TAKE NOTES

  • This is a perfect song R.I.P Marvin Gaye

  • You know all the voices on this vocal is marvin gaye by himself he just dubbed over his voice in three part harmony.

  • Thank you Marvin, this is amazing. Truly amazing. 1:30 - 1:50.

  • To me personally...Marvin was a prophet. He's affected my life so much, and of course...for the better. Rest In Peace brother.

  • Amaziing

  • More precious than gold

  • Nice! Dj Smooth : )

  • The master of layered vocals...

  • the acapella is perfect!! really good quality!!

  • killer vocals.....no processor, no auto, none of that shit

  • I <3 u darling ! <3

  • Marvin would sing any of these manufactured-vocal ass singers out the damn water. This dude was...somebody finish my thought...

  • @arkansoul I agree with ya.......And I would say this dude was ahead of his time and these folks nowadays need to listen to artists like him and to see what real music is supposed to sound like. Let's see these manufactured voice having idiots sing an acapella even half as good.......

  • @XplicitVocalz Actually, Marvin was the cream of the crop...PERIOD. Artists(for lack of a better word) today could really listen to any singer from back in the days until the mid-90s. Cats had to bring it and still, some great vocalists got slept on, anyway.

  • @arkansoul Yeah he was the best of the best, and Marvin is my favourite singer, so I'm always listening to some beautiful music by a man with a voice that was so incredible and flawless. It's like I always say if I was stranded on an Island and had to choose two artists' cd's I could be stranded with I'd pick a Marvin Gaye and 2Pac.

  • @arkansoul ...He was a bad mother- hush your mother- I'm talkin 'bout Marvin!!!

  • This is so incredible.

  • hot dam... this is pretty tight...

  • music is life m Marvin is music

  • what! im feeling this sooooo fkn bad. i was watching the eric sermon video but this is def where its at...i see why he was inspired.

  • That African tradition of call and response is ever present in this brothers compositions. Super tight harmonies, effortless tone. You can ACT like he wasn't a genius, but you really know better....

  • thanking you posting this ... truely amazing

  • This Some Chill Sh*t...

  • Oh Hell Yea...This is Incredible!!! Thank You for sharing

  • wow....!!!

  • This is music!!I got my music!!

  • this is amazing! thanks for this!

  • Much respect.

  • Thank you. I discovered Marvin in 1987 hearing this brings me right back. Thanks

  • WOW! Never heard this version! WOW!

  • All the vocals, they are all Marvin. He would record his voice using various octaves and blend the harmonies together.

  • @bandibreath Another artist whose sound is similar to Marvin in that aspect is Dwele. You should look up some of his songs. He uses his own voice as the background and doesn't use anyone else as a backup.

  • The Greatest!

  • Where the fuck did you find this accappella? MARVIN is the man!

  • @birdmanbenjibeat

It On The Midnight Love [Midnight Love & the Sexual Healing Sessions] cd

  • @birdmanbenjibeat midnight lover, two disc album, shits cold. got the extended sexual healing on it too

  • hell yeah man...while marv is in the both singing his ass off with a sliver of cocaine dust on his nose, i wish i could be there snapping my fingers macking to gals and drinking and dancing my ass off...

  • no one but marvin gaye can do a multiharmony over adlibs

  • RIP Beloved Marvin Ascended Master.

    One Love!

  • that is one man doing all the vocals wasnt no protunes and shit back then all you could do back then is loop it and keep singin real talent

  • Listen to all of his voices sounding just like music. He played chords with his harmonies that you don't even miss the keyboards. AMAZING!!! Nobody did it better!!!

  • Great!

  • ♥♫

  • Whew deep where you got that music symbol from?

  • Man I love this song.... Marvin Gaye, MJ and Luther are my favourite singers and this song shows why.... When a person can sing acapella so beautifully you can't help but stop, listen and groove to it...

    Simply amazing...

  • classic i really like 2:47 thru 4:00 seem like he started feeling it then

  • OUT freakinSTANDING

  • Genius !!! God bless you Marv !!!

  • Two Marvin Gaye movies in pre (pre)-production. One during 'Grapevine' era and other 'What's Going On?' era. I hope they both work out.

  • yea those movies has been in the makin 4 along time i think usher was playin him

  • This is my #1 song in all of R&B!!!!!

  • (Smiles)Just "darn"(feel free to substitute the r for m), Marvin!

  • Thank you sooooooo much for posting this!!!! He was so AMAZING!!! :D

  • This just does not get old. I could listen to this everyday!

  • OMG!! This man was and is so damn bad. He sang the backgrounds. the chorus. the lead. and if that don't beat all his musically inclined bad ass did the instrumentation. got damn i miss him so.

  • That's why he's a legend. He really did everything on his records.

  • I have a new appreciation for his lyrics now that i can actually hear those faint fade aways....wow

  • Where do i find this song with the music?? I can only find "Turn On Some Music" but not this version.

  • Gotta get the 2-disc special edition of 'Midnight Love'. You won't find it with music because it was an original a capella outtake from those sessions, different lyrics and all...

  • Holy f*ckin f*ck. Wow. Thanks for posting!

  • Pure gold...

  • 4:37 on, can't nobody fuck with that!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Mmmmmmm Marvin the Man and the Music ~ Your Memory Lives On Forever and Ever!

    R.I.P.

  • 3:04 - love it!!!

eric made a such good sample of this song!!!!

  • I feel you can't find a better song than this.

  • Observe the master...why don't the charts reflect vocalists like this no more *sigh*

  • @MsMerising That's because unfortunately you don't really need to have talent these days in order to get a record deal or a hit record.

  • @MsMerising

Bcs God could only make one like this.

  • @TinaXrisCuBaNa

My skin curdles when some of these newer cats get compared to Marvin. They don't have what he had - the vocal mastery, the emotion...ah, Marvin the Master. R.I.P. :D

  • Marvin killed this. "Say What !!!".

  • WOW!!!!!!!!

  • i bet if u ran thos through autotune the effect wudnt even work he sounds so on key

  • Nope.

  • Thanx for posting this dude !

    DOPE !!!

Thank you very much Forever Again

  • Must be required listening for all vocalists, lead and background. He did all his own backing vocals, music was this man's therapy! Check out his vocal placement, and his doo-do-do-do's. Isolating vocals help to see just how in tune one is singing, Thanks for posting this.

  • he did in fron t of the console board with mic on the board or lyng down....He Michael Jackson never wrote their lyics down....they do it in their head....

  • Hey Man I Love This Song Can You Do You Know The Link For This

  • Never heard this one before and I have a number of Marvin compilations. It's great!

  • Wow....never heard this one and I grew up in Detroit. Must a been that AM radio never played it. Too young to buy the albums back then. Not on greatest hits. Very cool

  • MPG...was a stand alone superstar! All he needed was his music!
