@prase73 Geez, those who call Eastgate a bad player who only got lucky really dont know poker. To win any tournament you need luck, skill and timing. Without one of them you're screwed. Demidov for exemple, was all-in and had 4 outs vs Rheem earlier in the tournament.. He hit it on the river. Again, skill, timing and luck are the keys. And it's true what they say, good player gets lucky. And remember, they showed maybe 0.1% of Eastgates hands in the tournament. Both of them deserved to win imo.
phillips was a lot better in 2009. he must've seen how badly he played on tv. cada was incredibly lucky and wished he had lost, but he isn't a donk. he's actually a respectable online player. made some horrible plays at the ft though

And didnt bet the flop with a flush draw out there? Ok he is out of position and could have weak king and dont want to be reraised. But on the turn? Then, what Scwartz is putting Eastgate on? He thinks he's stealing? In this case a small reraise would have been enough. What Eastgate can possibly bet strong here?

i think this was the best final table in the past 10 years,if not in the history of the WSOP. Demidov is particularly phenomenal. He'll make a deep run in 2010, and if he keeps it up in the WSOP Europe and circuit events he could be the next phil ivey.
It's easy to say Schwartz is an idiot for pushing when you can see Peter's cards. He had no reason to believe Peter wouldn't fire again, he can't see that he only had a pair of fives.
I'm sure impatience factored into his decision but it looked like a double-float to me. Could've worked. Yes, Pete's checking behind if he doesn't fill up, but Ylon doesn't know Peter is that weak. Not the smartest play ever, but could've worked.

If Eastgate missed his 5s full against Schwartz, he would've just checked behind and just take the pot. Eastgate is not a noob to make silly river-bets that won't make him money. River bets are usually made if you can win the round or if you're trying to steal the pot.
not really, they are the other players chips that were eliminated, they are playing for a first place prize of somewhere around 9 million dollars, their chips are not actually how much they are walking away with. 6000+(close to 7k i think) people entered and its a $10,000 dollar buy in event. People are so fucking stupid. WHy are people saying Eastgate is a lucker. Eastgate was never behind and always had better hand than his opponents while his opponents had huge opportunities to get away from their hands. Only suckout Eastgate had in the final table was against Rheem AK vs AQ but Rheem was short-stacked and Eastgate had him covered 8 times his chipstack.

I really don't like demidov for some reason. I can't figure out why. I think he is extremely overrated though. He is very very good at reading donks (phillips, montgomery. etc.) but I don't think he would be that great against great players.

how can eastgate be a good player. He is a lucky lucky lucky average player. Luck flowed from his ass. How many times he drank from river like donkeys. So sick hand against Montgomery that he found only card that will save his ass..
first off, it was trip 2. And you wouldn't fold trip with low kicker in 9-handed pot? Just shows what kind of donkey you are. If it was heads-up or at least 3 or 4-handed pot, then yes, it's stupid to fold but in 9-handed pot, I might've folded as well, especially when you know Durrrr is capable of playing any cards. You're a donk who can't fold hands. That's why you don't know why Eastgate folded trip 2s.
So many players just donked their chips away off bluff. Only demidov was successful with his bluffs. Aside from the smallest chip stacks, it seems like most of these players could have made the final 2 if they just played "solid" boring average poker.
Eastgate has such a solid look. He's unreadable, along with the fact that he is extremely aggressive in these competitions. It makes him an excellent poker player.
It definitely wouldn't have worked after turn. As I stated in other videos, Eastgate is easy to push off hands (seen in HSP and in WSOP). However, he had great pot odds here and considering Schwartz called a raise his made hand would probably AK, KQ, KJ, K10, JJ, TT. He could have 88 (cooler) or 22..so those 2 are washes for Eastgate.
If this was for Eastgate's tourney life and he didn't have such great pot odds this would have been a tougher but I think even Eastgate makes that call.
I think Phillips was on tilt because he was raised all in with Ace 7 he probably knew he should of called but he folded. Then next hand he had k 7 if he was in the hand he would of made trips with Kings, so he was just pissed then made a mistake going all in with nothing.
The WSOP Final Table should have been called the, "Watch guys move into Peter Eastgate with abso-fucking-loutely nothing show." Oh, I forgot, with Michael Buffer for some reason.

you dont win the wsop main event without ALOT of luck. so of course they are all lucksacks and eastgate is the biggest of all. it goes without saying he is an excellent player aswell.

what does your hand have to do with a bluff? The nature of a bluff is to make your opponent believe what you have.

If Eastgate missed his 5s full against Schwartz, he would've just checked behind and just take the pot. Eastgate is not a noob to make silly river-bets that won't make him money. River bets are usually made if you can win the round or if you're trying to steal the pot.

not really, they are the other players chips that were eliminated, they are playing for a first place prize of somewhere around 9 million dollars, their chips are not actually how much they are walking away with. 6000+(close to 7k i think) people entered and its a $10,000 dollar buy in event. Hope this helps.

People are so fucking stupid. WHy are people saying Eastgate is a lucker. Eastgate was never behind and always had better hand than his opponents while his opponents had huge opportunities to get away from their hands. Only suckout Eastgate had in the final table was against Rheem AK vs AQ but Rheem was short-stacked and Eastgate had him covered 8 times his chipstack.

I really don't like demidov for some reason. I can't figure out why. I think he is extremely overrated though. He is very very good at reading donks (phillips, montgomery. etc.) but I don't think he would be that great against great players.
We already saw that he was all in against chinos 10 10 with 99 and got VERY lucky. he should have not even made the final table.
but also I don't like the way he carries himself and speaks. He seems very pretentious. I dunno if its just me.

Schwartz move was dumb, first thing is hismove would not off worked if 5 didnt hit the river because Eastgate would of only checked behind and not bet river, 2nd, not sure why he does not just call if he thinks he is ahead instead of re raising.

first off, it was trip 2. And you wouldn't fold trip with low kicker in 9-handed pot? Just shows what kind of donkey you are. If it was heads-up or at least 3 or 4-handed pot, then yes, it's stupid to fold but in 9-handed pot, I might've folded as well, especially when you know Durrrr is capable of playing any cards. You're a donk who can't fold hands. That's why you don't know why Eastgate folded trip 2s.

It definitely wouldn't have worked after turn. As I stated in other videos, Eastgate is easy to push off hands (seen in HSP and in WSOP). However, he had great pot odds here and considering Schwartz called a raise his made hand would probably AK, KQ, KJ, K10, JJ, TT. He could have 88 (cooler) or 22..so those 2 are washes for Eastgate.
If this was for Eastgate's tourney life and he didn't have such great pot odds this would have been a tougher but I think even Eastgate makes that call.

I think Phillips was on tilt because he was raised all in with Ace 7 he probably knew he should of called but he folded. Then next hand he had k 7 if he was in the hand he would of made trips with Kings, so he was just pissed then made a mistake going all in with nothing.
