The clean tones are okay for studio levels, but not that great in full band rehearsals or gigs. In order to get the volume up with a live drummer, you need to crank the gain on either of the two channels, and that brings in the overdrive. With single p/up guitars, and the master on full, valve distortion begins to creep in with the channel gain turned past the 9 o'clock setting. Backing off on the master volume reduces the output significantly, and simply won't cut it in a full band scenario.
All depends how loud your band plays and how big the venue is - I gigged this regularly in a covers band playing large pubs and clubs and had no problem with clean headroom. The choice of valves make a big difference as well - I was using NOS Reflektor valves which don't break up as quickly as some other EL84's. Speakers are another factor - through a 4x12 the Dual Terror sounded huge.
Thanks for posting something clean for this. I'm hoping to buy but I'm having a bit of difficulty finding any demos of clean/mid level gain on them. Most demos are from shredders.
Crossroads, seams will come and gooooo yeah, gypsy flies...... haha i love the Allman bros! Great little demo! Would you recomend the Dual Terror to a 15 year old looking for true tube tone at a nice price that can stil use it for practice nand small gigs? Ive been playin 7 years and need to get away from my line 6! I play classic rock, southern rock, agressive blues, and some metallica and Van halen through a schecter c1 hellraiser and a fender mim strat both left handed.
great sounding amp!

@curnmered is the dual terror loud enough through a 2x12 cab to play over a hard hitting drummer in a med. size place?
