7.3 is the best engine in these trucks. I know if you do the upgrades to the 6.0 it is a great engine. But you shouldn't have to do this. 7.3 from the factory is bulletproof.
7.3 is the best! I have the last year they put it in their truck, 2003. Every diesel after that seemed to be a piece of shit. I was talking to some guy last week with a 6.0, after 30k miles, he was on the 3rd set of head gaskets. He also said when he pays it off next year, he's gonna get a 7.3 put in his truck.
@DieselDemon18 Im a chevy guy all the way, but it sounds like that 30,000 mile 6.0 guy has no clue about that engine. You do the egr delete, head studs and gaskets he should have no more problems with that engine. It is a good engine once you do those upgrades
the plugs were already warm, the truck was already preped and was running before the guy made the video. the tires look as if they had just rolled on the snow. that wouldnt be like that overnight. and there are fresh tire marks right under the truck itself. bad video.
Take care of your vehicle and it'll take care of you. Nuff said. Doesn't matter the brand. You pay attention, and it'll run good. Yes, I'm a chevy man, but I've drove fords, and dodges. IMO the 5.3 silverado is the best gas engine, though, and the best diesel I've drove was the 6.6, but it was modified. I've only drove stock rams and fords, and this DMAX was putting out damn well near a thousand pounds of torque, and around 550 hp. Good truck.
Any diesel engine thats well taken care of will start right up in any weather. if your fuel heater, battaries, starter, compresion, glow plugs and injectors are (ALL) working properly then the truck will fire right up. Yes im a diesel mechanic and yes i own a 7.3 and love it. My truck lookes like shit but fires up in any weather with out any blue smoke, bucking or hitting the starter for 10 min.
Gotta love block heaters... Only reason that engine turned over that fast was because the engine was warm to begin with... I've got a 99 F350, I know what its like starting in the cold when I forget to plug it in.
I have owned 2 cummins diesels a duramax and finally bought a ford with the new 6.4 litre powerstroke, best truck by far. You step on the throttle and she just gets up and hauls. Going the put the Banks ram air and exhaust on it next.
oh and last time i checked it was GMC who is goin bankrupt for example im in the military...the hummer is sold to an asian company lets see that aint ford that would be GMC
holy shit kid really wow thank you for stating that i would of never known that and i think you need to reread Hummer is a GM now a branch off like chevy it is a GM which is being sold to an asian company in part of GM going bankrupt
all you have to do is take off the dpf filter and it wont do that any more its just burning up the carbon the dpf filter takes and holds untill its full then dumps any way. make any sence not to me.
yeah that is what i'd do fuck emitions. who the hell is this jonnyhayob guy any way who the hell he think he is. chevy nice work trucks yeah for hauling grociries from walmart lol damn aluminum pos lol. i love my psd.
I have a vw jetta diesel and my car has a dpf. It doesn't even tell you when it clears the filters, it just does it every so often. The only thing is the rpms rise about by about 500 thats it.. it does it while you are driving.
stay with american made diesel what country are durcraps built in? the the U.S. Chevy sux for a reason the may built em fast but they dont last sorry lil bow tie girls
actually the 6.6 duramax is built right here in the u.s.a in OHIO and are very good engines the 7.8 duramax is built in japan, ford international engines are also built in the USA but the great cummins 5.9 is built in usa, brazil, japan, india, china
i got a 1996 7.3 liter with 291,440 the only thing ever done two it is the starter and glowplugs it runs great. the 7.3 is the best deisel anybody made.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Oh well when they all DIE, and your Chevy ends up like a rock, because you can't buy no more parts for it. I guess I'll just keep going in My Toyota. Who's bad then? Or will GM turn into JGM? (Japan General Motors).. Something to think about... Hahaha... Oh Well... Japan Vehicles RULE!!! Oveously...
there isn't a car in japan that can out last true american cars like this powerstroke nothing i have never seen a japanies car last as long as an american car last. you can have your fag ass imports there going to end up in the junk yard in 10 years any way because there disposible cars.
i never see those early 90s civics any more i always see the mid 80s early 90s cavaliers around along with 30 year old trucks and some people still driving the mid 70s cars. truth is the new cars coming out from companies like GM and Chrysler i wouldn't trust those things as far as i could throw them. but i had a 91 escort that had like 200,000+ miles on it junked it but its what you have good luck with and so far its been American cars.
i don't really plan on buying any thing from GM now that the American government owns them that is a recipe for disaster because you can just imagine how much those cars are going to suck. very unreliable and every thing ford is the only American company i trust now but i do like German cars like Volkswagen. but im a truck man i want another super duty.
@Americanmusclefan try BMW 745D E66 or E70 4.0D :) Its must chance ur opinion :) But in USA u dont know engines as 1.9TDI, 2.0TDI..or 2.5TDI...The consuptiom all of them ist between 4,5l/100 combined to 10l/100km combined for 3.0TDI. And power is from 90HP to 300HP. Also, 1.9TDI has 150HP in stock version. But not the version pumpe-dyse but common rail...
ha def. not a cold start, maybe after an hour or so... or being in the garage all night... i have a 2000 and at 20 with a new starter and batteries it still cranks slower than that... badass truck tho
Its Fords Turbo Diesel (the powerstroke just means its a turbocharged version of the engine). Cummins(dodge) is usually turbo as well and duramax(Chevy).
Its an engine designed by Navistar International, you may know it is International Harvester, or "Case IH", but Ford licenses it, and its called the Powerstroke. I believe the Powerstroke sounds better, looks better, a lot more durable, then any of the other two. Cummins is good to, but Ford rocks.
Duramax is a weak fucking Engine, and you need to get that through your little thick fucking head. a stock DMAX is good for nothing but going out on the damn street and flooring it, just like every other Chevy engine. Chevy has never been about torque or pulling power, and thats even been said by GM owners, they'll admit that. You are just a bumbling dumb ass with no clue what you're talking about. I'd love to know where you got this so called education you mention in every post.
amen the only thing gm knows is horse power. i guess it don't help them any for the fact that its an Isuzu motor any way and its all aluminum. the ford is all cast that is built to last.
Yep that 6.2 she was a real tire sredding killer. If memory serves me correct it had about 80 rwhp. I can remeber watching a new 6.5 on the dyno and it had less HP than a 7.3 non turbo. Pulling a 250 WITH NO PROBLEM? well I saw a Japanese guy pull a Boeing 747 with his teeth so lets not read to much into that. The DMAX Allison combo works great and if it wasnt for the lowrider frame and girlguide front diff you might see one in my driveway.
With the right gear ratio you can pull the world, even with a 5HP motor. We got a few old tractors at summit, I work heavy machinery, and we rarely use the old tractors, but we got an old 1979 Ford tractor has 50 HP, and I gurante that no truck will pull it, and its pretty damn light, but its GEARED super low.
My LBZ Duramax has pulled a John Deere 2355 (diesel & heavy) and Farmall Super M with lower gearing than the ford tractor you mention, on pavement. Obviously you havent had a trucked hooked to anything before if you're making this claim.
The point is a HP is not really that big of a deal when it comes to pulling. Dude seriously stop being a dumb ass. You probably don't own a duramax diesel, and you've probably never even driven a tractor, let alone a dozer. CAT owns all the diesels engines, and bud thats a fact. A John Deere Engine, SUCKS. They aren't better then the CAT's we got... you fucking redneck wannabe.... FORD is superior to GM, and its a fact, its been proven, and find me a video of a duramax pulling a powerstroke...
HAHA This person is a mechanic for some hillbilly garage, and he just called a Mechaincal Engineer a dumbass. And yes I own an LBZ and my dad owns an LMM and a fleet with cat's, cummins' duramax's, international's and regretably, powerstroke's (all plural) We also have a nice assortment of new construction to toy around with.
CAT even knows they can't keep up, which is why they are considering dropping their on-road lineup. Times change brother, get used to it.
LOL I've seen a 2003 Ford F350 front axle stub shaft shatter when it was hooked to a duramax so you're right it has been proven, that ford blows. Show me a vid of a powerstroke winning a sled pull and I'll show you 30 vids of Duramax's winning them.
Funny theres youtube videos of Powerstroke pulls, but none of Duramax winning anything against a Powerstroke.. I will hook up to any weak ass Duramax and pull it. Stock vs Stock, Powerstroke wins..
I think not because Double Overtime kicks the shit out of Duramax. Its funny you say DMAX is good at sled pulling.. buddy listen its okay if you bought a shitty GM truck, and want to find some justification for owning one, but don't make up stories... I think you need to tell daddy you are playing on the pc again and making up lies... like most people here on youtube do, especially GM cock sucking fan boys.
"Double Overtime"? LMFAO the only thing original Navistar on that is the block, and even thats modified. I mean for shits sake it has a MACK injection pump lmao. This is how horrible the injection system on powerstrokes are, people just get rid of it for extreme cases instead of tweaking them, such as the CP3 on the duramax/common rail cummins.
And I'm talking about streetable trucks, like ones that are driven to work the next day, find me powerstrokes that are that reliable AND built.
Duramaxs SUCK for pulling, and thats all I need to say. Double OT? umm thats a 7.3L and theres more on it then you think. The engine is original, the fuel injection system isn't. You should pick up the latest issue of Diesel power and do some reading on it, trust theres more on that truck thats original then you think buddy, and its got a Ford frame. The Dodge nor Chevy frame couldn't handle the 4000lb over the front...
77 TSBs (6.0 powerstroke) vs. less than 7 TSBs (DMAX LB7 LLY). Go get raped by your psd repair bills some more, oh thats right you dont even own one my bad.
I never had mine in the repair shop. Before this truck I had an F350, Powerstroke 6.0, great engine. I heard people had issues with it, I never had any, and I put a good 120k miles on it, before that I had a F250 with a 7.3L I put well over 190k miles and I admit I am hard on a vehicle, and so far these are the only vehicles to hold up good to my abuse. I work in dirt, and usually make 200 mile trips every day in my truck.
Buddy you have probably never even drove a fucking powerstroke or cummins. Its funny that Cummins dont hold up, its the king of sled pulling, or was. and DMAX has never been any good at them. I ain't ever seen no damn Duramax diesel with 1800HP like Double Overtime. buddy you need to get a life, and stop making up stories. All GM fans are good at is telling people how good their truck is, you're all the same, and you all look bad when you do it, because you lie.
Hey bud, that same I6 setup is also one of the many things that limit the cummins motor. You probably don't even know why the I6 is chosen to do the tasks it is, and with an alias of "cokinator" it is more than likely impossible for an engineer to explain the reasons to you. And FYI, Isuzu has their techniques down and has had it down for a much longer time than any other diesel engine manufacturer has. Oh yeah babycakes, DMAX LTD produces the Duramax, Isuzu co designed it.
I think International Harvester has been making diesel engines longer than isuzu. And although I don't like cummins, I KNOW they have been making diesels longer than isuzu!
Isuzu/Japan navy built one in 1907. IH built their first in 1932 I'm pretty sure. And cummins...1919. So Isuzu has made diesels for a longer period of time.
Dude get off GM's nut sack please. Theres a lot of idiots and most of them own Chevy, or GMC. Duramax BLOWS. If they know how to make a good engine, please show me one. We got brand new Duramax's at work, and the old powerstrokes, and cummins are better, and even the new powerstrokes and cummins are better. The F650 with the cummins we got is an 08, and has a 325HP Cummins in it, 1000x better. By the way CAT makes the best diesel engine, nothing like a caterpillar engine.
Then why would International Truck and Engine CONTINUE to use the DURAMAX engine in the recently aquired GM medium Duty trucks division? Yeah that's right, they know that the DURAMAX is such a superior engine to whatever else they can get. Sorry to inform you.
Dude I hate dumb GM fans... I HATE A CHEVY LOVING DUMB ASS. Get over yourself please.. Thats why 90% of all farmers own Fords, thats why all the city utility vehicles, and cable companies are all FORD vehicels. You are such a stupid fuck, to say because one company uses duramaxs, that its better. If anything a damn dump truck should be running Cummins, a CAT engine, or a Detroit Diesel. I hate idiots!
OK so that 90% figure is arbitrary right? If not lets see proof, put up or shut up. IDK what small town your from but duke energy has about an equal mix of small gas ford's (no psd) and Duramax trucks. Duke is one of the largest utility companies in the US.
And if one company chooses to use the recently aquired competitions designs (International using the duramax instead of psd), that just goes to show that even they know their original designs/plans are garbage. So yes I am correct.
cats are great don't get me wrong but as far as SEMI trucks go cummins really has the market for those motors cant beat a cummins its all over the news and every thing. but for earth movers like backhoes and bulldozers CAT all the way.
Funny they made an engine when they weren't founded to 1937 ROFL...
International Harvester which is where the Powerstroke design came from was founded in 1902!. Dude please stop spreading bullshit... Cummins founded in 1919! Like I said japs cannot build diesel... and I am sorry bub, but you need to get off GM's nut sack, you've just proven WRONG.
Funny how GM's light duty truck market share went from 2% to 25% in the time span of 1 (one) year. The Duramax is obviously a hot engine and people are starting to realize it. The new 6.7's are SHIT, sorry to hear you work on one or drive it.
Funny how GM's light duty truck market share went from 2% to 25% in the time span of 1 (one) year. The Duramax is obviously a hot engine and people are starting to realize it. The new 6.7's are SHIT, sorry to hear you work on one or drive it.
6.7? Ford doesn't make a 6.7 idiot.. Once again you proves you are a bumbling idiot. You've been proven wrong so you choose to spam? Yeah you're intelligent. Wasting my time typing out a message. You're like gay guy in a prison, you only know one thing. "Chevys best and it dont matter what you say" LMAO! Yeah thats the intelligent way of thinking. Its funny how all the GM guys are dumb asses... with no IQ, because most of them are redneck dumb fucks.
I am fully aware that ford does not make a 6.7, much less any diesel period. I believe you said you worked on a 6.7 (cummins) and I was referring to that statement made by you. You claimed the 6.7 was "so awesome". I was just correcting you again, any 6.7 I have had experience with was SHIT.
No first off all I am not computer illiterate pc locks up don't cause you spam, you had to reply that many times. Also the 6.7L is a great engine, and you're just a GM fan boy like I said... Duramax is a jap pos engine.
I know computers like the back of my head... Considering I am a gamer... We have the 6.7's and haven't had any issues with them, nor the powerstrokes. Cummins is a great engine.
Chevy diesels have been shit ever since Chevy got there grubby hands on one. building there own was a mistake so they think a jap company can do better japan wasn't even building cars when IH was around. The fact is GM SUCKS they cant build a good diesel so they have to buy a junk one witch every one thought DMAX would be good so tell me i know a lot of Chevy people all of them bitch about how unreliable the dmax is. the dmax is just the maxi pad of diesel trucks.
@Americanmusclefan Really. My buddy's dad has an 06 duramax, and has had it since 06. It's a 6.6 chipped, and puts out around 920 pounds of torque. Look up Wrap Experts on facebook and he put a picture of his up, name's Bruce Borynack. The truck's been reliable since they got it and puts out a shit ton of power and torque. It's an amazing truck. Have you ever OWNED a duramax of your own? Plus, you can't beat the allison trans.
Like I said, Isuzu(Or the company before the name changed)/JAPAN NAVY made a diesel way before cummins or IH, IH didnt start making diesels until 1932. 1932-1907=25 years prior, just in case you wanted to see the math.
And no, the psd was more of a Navistar designed engine than IH.
Nobody is going to be able to keep up with the Japs in a while, esp when CAT does get out of the On-road end of the business because they can't keep up with the emissions regulations.
They did not buddy you are a dumb fuck. Look the company on the internet. You sir are a fucking retard... Please shut up. Its funny how the Ford Super Duty is the truck of the year... and its also funny how GM has never made a truck that could take the abuse a ford could. Please stop sucking on GM's nuts... I hate ignorant fucking morons that know only one thing... like you... Ford is 100x better.. GM just bought a bunch of companies... they aren't better.
I even looked this fact up in text, not just the internet. So yes they have been making diesels longer than cummins and IH. I know this one thing because I have tried them all. Why do you think the person that posted this video bought a Duramax? Thats right, because he realized what he was missing out on too. Once again, you gave an arbitrary number (100x). Put up or shut up bud.
LOL theres more Ford Diesels then there is Duramax Diesels dumb ass.. More people OWN a Ford Diesel then they do Duracrap... Duramax I swear to god thats pathetic.... Like I said Duramax, and just the trucks that GM produce in general are nothing compared to a Ford, and the toughness of its trucks, and Engines. Ford makes has the best diesels and cummins so stfu... and IH was making diesels longer dumb ass.... japs cannot make diesel engines..
International engine and motor Co. designed the motor they just changed the name to Navistar. The first ever diesel motor was built in 1897 buy Rudolph diesel him self in the us sorry bub diesel tech remains to be American still once again thanks to the germans.
@Americanmusclefan There ain't nothing better then a CAT when it comes to pulling power. I work for a construction company. When it comes to dozers, and semi's I'd choose a caterpillar engine over a cummins any day.
yeah pulling power and reliability cat i like cat motors. its just the only reason why cummins is on top of the market is because of there ability to be a good pulling motor and a reliable motor along with there ability to stay with in the emotions code witch is hurting the diesel manufactures.
i think IH and Cummins have been making diesel motors longer then Isuzu has been a company lol.
its like saying Toyota and nissan have been building good trucks longer then ford or dodge. When in fact all three companies GM FORD & DODGE have been around longer then Toyota or all the other jap companies.
ROFL no they haven't.. Isuzu is a damn jap retard company. The DMAX at work sucks balls, and you sir are idiot, an I6 has more torque, and get it faster then a DMAX V8 can. I hate people who say liters, or cylinders have anything to do with power. I am sorry but Duramax sucks. Cummins, and even Powerstroke are stronger... Thats why everyone with a DMAX has to sup them up to do anything. Chevy is good at one thing, and thats a fast engine. The 350 Vortec tells us that, no power, but plenty of go.
No actually the DMAX makes more torque and HP than the 6.7 and 6.4. LOL look it up.
And no, they juice the piss out of the Duramax because EFILive is only available to DURAMAX owners and the Duramax can take this power, unlike a "powerstroke"
12 valves are becoming a thing of the past in pulling now also from this.
LMAO Thats funny a Cummins will out pull Powerstroke, and DMAX.. You sir are a fake, and not a mechanic to be talking like this. I refuse to believe you are anymore then some redneck with nothing better to do but set on youtube and talk about how nice GM is, when in reality they are junk. Their frames are JUNK, Their Engines are JUNK, and you are an idiot for believing that DMAX is better then Cummins, or Powerstroke at pulling.
What have you posted to back up anything you said? Where have you proven anything? You claimed some Jap company was making Diesel engines better then America, and longer? You are really a dumb pole smoking idiot aren't you? I've met Mechanical Engineer's that are dumber the shit, and theres again no proof you are. Lot of Chevy people claim shit.. Its okay that Chevy sucks dude, and you have to defend it. I don't need to defend Ford, its a great vehicle, and I've always owned them with no issues.
Dawg you aren't an Engineer and you're talking out your ass... You haven't posted nothing to back up any of your claims. I got info on when Cummins was started, and when IH was started you claimed that jap company was here first yet it don't check out. You claim Powerstroke sucks so far you just say that, and why. You are a GM lover, and naturally you are going to say DMAX is better. Most GM owners are idiots, and biased towards anything. I got a guy at work who acts just like you.
"Dawg" dont question my schooling ok? I have posted items to back up my claims on nearly EVERY post, you have yet to do it on ONE post. Look up isuzu diesel on wiki, since I assume that is where you get your only info from, and do some reading. I dont want to have to read everything for you. I have posted 3x now showing how isuzu/jap navy was before IH and cummins.
You apparently can not read, or have horrible skim reading habbits.

all you have to do is take off the dpf filter and it wont do that any more its just burning up the carbon the dpf filter takes and holds untill its full then dumps any way. make any sence not to me.
Americanmusclefan 2 years ago
Mine says all the time "Cleaning Exhaust Filter" ie dumping it out anyway. Having that shit all removed soon.... So my 6.4L can breath

I have a vw jetta diesel and my car has a dpf. It doesn't even tell you when it clears the filters, it just does it every so often. The only thing is the rpms rise about by about 500 thats it.. it does it while you are driving.
bmtimv 2 years ago
You may be able to do that in some areas but be aware when removing any dpf. Diesels now have to be smoged in some states.

(Japan General Motors).. Something to think about... Hahaha... Oh Well... Japan Vehicles RULE!!! Oveously...
livewire333 3 years ago
there isn't a car in japan that can out last true american cars like this powerstroke nothing i have never seen a japanies car last as long as an american car last. you can have your fag ass imports there going to end up in the junk yard in 10 years any way because there disposible cars.
Americanmusclefan 2 years ago
Um why do i still see early 90's civics rolling around in great shape and seemingly running very well? While STILL achieving 40mpg?
Can the same be said about say, a Cavalier?
Its actually a fact, that imports hold their value longer than domestic vehicles. That is, cars, not trucks
Im no fan of imports, im basically telling you that your very misinformed if you think american cars are better. BTW this is a truck not a car
mattmatt115 2 years ago
i never see those early 90s civics any more i always see the mid 80s early 90s cavaliers around along with 30 year old trucks and some people still driving the mid 70s cars. truth is the new cars coming out from companies like GM and Chrysler i wouldn't trust those things as far as i could throw them. but i had a 91 escort that had like 200,000+ miles on it junked it but its what you have good luck with and so far its been American cars.
Americanmusclefan 2 years ago
Umm about those new GM cars, dont guy ANYTHING with passkey 2 or you will be stranded
mattmatt115 2 years ago
i don't really plan on buying any thing from GM now that the American government owns them that is a recipe for disaster because you can just imagine how much those cars are going to suck. very unreliable and every thing ford is the only American company i trust now but i do like German cars like Volkswagen. but im a truck man i want another super duty.
Americanmusclefan 2 years ago 3
@Americanmusclefan try BMW 745D E66 or E70 4.0D :) Its must chance ur opinion :) But in USA u dont know engines as 1.9TDI, 2.0TDI..or 2.5TDI...The consuptiom all of them ist between 4,5l/100 combined to 10l/100km combined for 3.0TDI. And power is from 90HP to 300HP. Also, 1.9TDI has 150HP in stock version. But not the version pumpe-dyse but common rail...

Cummins is good to, but Ford rocks.
lizard2006 3 years ago 7
Duramax is a weak fucking Engine, and you need to get that through your little thick fucking head. a stock DMAX is good for nothing but going out on the damn street and flooring it, just like every other Chevy engine. Chevy has never been about torque or pulling power, and thats even been said by GM owners, they'll admit that. You are just a bumbling dumb ass with no clue what you're talking about. I'd love to know where you got this so called education you mention in every post.
lizard2006 4 years ago
amen the only thing gm knows is horse power. i guess it don't help them any for the fact that its an Isuzu motor any way and its all aluminum. the ford is all cast that is built to last.
Americanmusclefan 2 years ago
They Still made the 7.3 in 2002? That's cool. I love the sound of a 7.3
pacjr310 4 years ago
Yep that 6.2 she was a real tire sredding killer. If memory serves me correct it had about 80 rwhp. I can remeber watching a new 6.5 on the dyno and it had less HP than a 7.3 non turbo. Pulling a 250 WITH NO PROBLEM? well I saw a Japanese guy pull a Boeing 747 with his teeth so lets not read to much into that. The DMAX Allison combo works great and if it wasnt for the lowrider frame and girlguide front diff you might see one in my driveway.
BOWTIESAREFORFAGS 4 years ago
DMAX sucks.... the engine itself isn't that powerful...
lizard2006 4 years ago
With the right gear ratio you can pull the world, even with a 5HP motor. We got a few old tractors at summit, I work heavy machinery, and we rarely use the old tractors, but we got an old 1979 Ford tractor has 50 HP, and I gurante that no truck will pull it, and its pretty damn light, but its GEARED super low.
lizard2006 4 years ago
My LBZ Duramax has pulled a John Deere 2355 (diesel & heavy) and Farmall Super M with lower gearing than the ford tractor you mention, on pavement. Obviously you havent had a trucked hooked to anything before if you're making this claim.
johnnyheyob 4 years ago
The point is a HP is not really that big of a deal when it comes to pulling. Dude seriously stop being a dumb ass. You probably don't own a duramax diesel, and you've probably never even driven a tractor, let alone a dozer. CAT owns all the diesels engines, and bud thats a fact. A John Deere Engine, SUCKS. They aren't better then the CAT's we got... you fucking redneck wannabe.... FORD is superior to GM, and its a fact, its been proven, and find me a video of a duramax pulling a powerstroke...
lizard2006 4 years ago
HAHA This person is a mechanic for some hillbilly garage, and he just called a Mechaincal Engineer a dumbass. And yes I own an LBZ and my dad owns an LMM and a fleet with cat's, cummins' duramax's, international's and regretably, powerstroke's (all plural) We also have a nice assortment of new construction to toy around with.
CAT even knows they can't keep up, which is why they are considering dropping their on-road lineup. Times change brother, get used to it.
johnnyheyob 4 years ago
LOL I've seen a 2003 Ford F350 front axle stub shaft shatter when it was hooked to a duramax so you're right it has been proven, that ford blows. Show me a vid of a powerstroke winning a sled pull and I'll show you 30 vids of Duramax's winning them.
johnnyheyob 4 years ago
Funny theres youtube videos of Powerstroke pulls, but none of Duramax winning anything against a Powerstroke.. I will hook up to any weak ass Duramax and pull it. Stock vs Stock, Powerstroke wins..
lizard2006 4 years ago
That is a weight issue. Nothing about power or gearing. Weight is almost all that matters in this situation, and driver know-how.
johnnyheyob 4 years ago
I think not because Double Overtime kicks the shit out of Duramax. Its funny you say DMAX is good at sled pulling.. buddy listen its okay if you bought a shitty GM truck, and want to find some justification for owning one, but don't make up stories... I think you need to tell daddy you are playing on the pc again and making up lies... like most people here on youtube do, especially GM cock sucking fan boys.
lizard2006 4 years ago
"Double Overtime"? LMFAO the only thing original Navistar on that is the block, and even thats modified. I mean for shits sake it has a MACK injection pump lmao. This is how horrible the injection system on powerstrokes are, people just get rid of it for extreme cases instead of tweaking them, such as the CP3 on the duramax/common rail cummins.
And I'm talking about streetable trucks, like ones that are driven to work the next day, find me powerstrokes that are that reliable AND built.
johnnyheyob 4 years ago
Duramaxs SUCK for pulling, and thats all I need to say. Double OT? umm thats a 7.3L and theres more on it then you think. The engine is original, the fuel injection system isn't. You should pick up the latest issue of Diesel power and do some reading on it, trust theres more on that truck thats original then you think buddy, and its got a Ford frame. The Dodge nor Chevy frame couldn't handle the 4000lb over the front...
lizard2006 4 years ago
And yeah I had the option of powerstroke or cummins, but I knew better.
Put up or shut up.
johnnyheyob 4 years ago
Yeah right. Powerstroke is a great Engine stop being a dumb ass... Go suck some more Chevy dick.
lizard2006 4 years ago
77 TSBs (6.0 powerstroke) vs. less than 7 TSBs (DMAX LB7 LLY). Go get raped by your psd repair bills some more, oh thats right you dont even own one my bad.
johnnyheyob 4 years ago
I never had mine in the repair shop. Before this truck I had an F350, Powerstroke 6.0, great engine. I heard people had issues with it, I never had any, and I put a good 120k miles on it, before that I had a F250 with a 7.3L I put well over 190k miles and I admit I am hard on a vehicle, and so far these are the only vehicles to hold up good to my abuse. I work in dirt, and usually make 200 mile trips every day in my truck.
lizard2006 4 years ago
Buddy you have probably never even drove a fucking powerstroke or cummins. Its funny that Cummins dont hold up, its the king of sled pulling, or was. and DMAX has never been any good at them. I ain't ever seen no damn Duramax diesel with 1800HP like Double Overtime. buddy you need to get a life, and stop making up stories. All GM fans are good at is telling people how good their truck is, you're all the same, and you all look bad when you do it, because you lie.
lizard2006 4 years ago
I Live in northern alberta, where here recentaly it was minus 50
MagicJaeger 4 years ago
Hey bud, that same I6 setup is also one of the many things that limit the cummins motor. You probably don't even know why the I6 is chosen to do the tasks it is, and with an alias of "cokinator" it is more than likely impossible for an engineer to explain the reasons to you. And FYI, Isuzu has their techniques down and has had it down for a much longer time than any other diesel engine manufacturer has. Oh yeah babycakes, DMAX LTD produces the Duramax, Isuzu co designed it.
johnnyheyob 4 years ago
I think International Harvester has been making diesel engines longer than isuzu. And although I don't like cummins, I KNOW they have been making diesels longer than isuzu!
dieselman0 4 years ago
Isuzu/Japan navy built one in 1907. IH built their first in 1932 I'm pretty sure. And cummins...1919. So Isuzu has made diesels for a longer period of time.
johnnyheyob 4 years ago
Dude get off GM's nut sack please. Theres a lot of idiots and most of them own Chevy, or GMC. Duramax BLOWS. If they know how to make a good engine, please show me one. We got brand new Duramax's at work, and the old powerstrokes, and cummins are better, and even the new powerstrokes and cummins are better. The F650 with the cummins we got is an 08, and has a 325HP Cummins in it, 1000x better. By the way CAT makes the best diesel engine, nothing like a caterpillar engine.
lizard2006 4 years ago
Then why would International Truck and Engine CONTINUE to use the DURAMAX engine in the recently aquired GM medium Duty trucks division? Yeah that's right, they know that the DURAMAX is such a superior engine to whatever else they can get. Sorry to inform you.
johnnyheyob 4 years ago
Dude I hate dumb GM fans... I HATE A CHEVY LOVING DUMB ASS. Get over yourself please.. Thats why 90% of all farmers own Fords, thats why all the city utility vehicles, and cable companies are all FORD vehicels. You are such a stupid fuck, to say because one company uses duramaxs, that its better. If anything a damn dump truck should be running Cummins, a CAT engine, or a Detroit Diesel. I hate idiots!
lizard2006 4 years ago
OK so that 90% figure is arbitrary right? If not lets see proof, put up or shut up. IDK what small town your from but duke energy has about an equal mix of small gas ford's (no psd) and Duramax trucks. Duke is one of the largest utility companies in the US.
And if one company chooses to use the recently aquired competitions designs (International using the duramax instead of psd), that just goes to show that even they know their original designs/plans are garbage. So yes I am correct.

Thank you for pointing that out.

lizard2006 4 years ago

lizard2006 4 years ago
Chevy diesels have been shit ever since Chevy got there grubby hands on one. building there own was a mistake so they think a jap company can do better japan wasn't even building cars when IH was around. The fact is GM SUCKS they cant build a good diesel so they have to buy a junk one witch every one thought DMAX would be good so tell me i know a lot of Chevy people all of them bitch about how unreliable the dmax is. the dmax is just the maxi pad of diesel trucks.
Americanmusclefan 2 years ago
@Americanmusclefan
are you fucking kidding, i dont no a single person who isnt impressed with there duramax, my family has had two, best trucks we have ever owned
chayse263 2 years ago
@Americanmusclefan Really. My buddy's dad has an 06 duramax, and has had it since 06. It's a 6.6 chipped, and puts out around 920 pounds of torque. Look up Wrap Experts on facebook and he put a picture of his up, name's Bruce Borynack. The truck's been reliable since they got it and puts out a shit ton of power and torque. It's an amazing truck. Have you ever OWNED a duramax of your own? Plus, you can't beat the allison trans.
chrisbmxhowto 1 year ago
Like I said, Isuzu(Or the company before the name changed)/JAPAN NAVY made a diesel way before cummins or IH, IH didnt start making diesels until 1932. 1932-1907=25 years prior, just in case you wanted to see the math.
And no, the psd was more of a Navistar designed engine than IH.
Nobody is going to be able to keep up with the Japs in a while, esp when CAT does get out of the On-road end of the business because they can't keep up with the emissions regulations.
johnnyheyob 4 years ago
They did not buddy you are a dumb fuck. Look the company on the internet. You sir are a fucking retard... Please shut up. Its funny how the Ford Super Duty is the truck of the year... and its also funny how GM has never made a truck that could take the abuse a ford could. Please stop sucking on GM's nuts... I hate ignorant fucking morons that know only one thing... like you... Ford is 100x better.. GM just bought a bunch of companies... they aren't better.
lizard2006 4 years ago
I even looked this fact up in text, not just the internet. So yes they have been making diesels longer than cummins and IH. I know this one thing because I have tried them all. Why do you think the person that posted this video bought a Duramax? Thats right, because he realized what he was missing out on too. Once again, you gave an arbitrary number (100x). Put up or shut up bud.
johnnyheyob 4 years ago
LOL theres more Ford Diesels then there is Duramax Diesels dumb ass.. More people OWN a Ford Diesel then they do Duracrap... Duramax I swear to god thats pathetic.... Like I said Duramax, and just the trucks that GM produce in general are nothing compared to a Ford, and the toughness of its trucks, and Engines. Ford makes has the best diesels and cummins so stfu... and IH was making diesels longer dumb ass.... japs cannot make diesel engines..
lizard2006 4 years ago
International engine and motor Co. designed the motor they just changed the name to Navistar. The first ever diesel motor was built in 1897 buy Rudolph diesel him self in the us sorry bub diesel tech remains to be American still once again thanks to the germans.
Americanmusclefan 2 years ago
@Americanmusclefan There ain't nothing better then a CAT when it comes to pulling power. I work for a construction company. When it comes to dozers, and semi's I'd choose a caterpillar engine over a cummins any day.
lizard2006 2 years ago
yeah pulling power and reliability cat i like cat motors. its just the only reason why cummins is on top of the market is because of there ability to be a good pulling motor and a reliable motor along with there ability to stay with in the emotions code witch is hurting the diesel manufactures.
Americanmusclefan 2 years ago
i think IH and Cummins have been making diesel motors longer then Isuzu has been a company lol.
its like saying Toyota and nissan have been building good trucks longer then ford or dodge. When in fact all three companies GM FORD & DODGE have been around longer then Toyota or all the other jap companies.
Americanmusclefan 2 years ago
ROFL no they haven't.. Isuzu is a damn jap retard company. The DMAX at work sucks balls, and you sir are idiot, an I6 has more torque, and get it faster then a DMAX V8 can. I hate people who say liters, or cylinders have anything to do with power. I am sorry but Duramax sucks. Cummins, and even Powerstroke are stronger... Thats why everyone with a DMAX has to sup them up to do anything. Chevy is good at one thing, and thats a fast engine. The 350 Vortec tells us that, no power, but plenty of go.
lizard2006 4 years ago
No actually the DMAX makes more torque and HP than the 6.7 and 6.4. LOL look it up.
And no, they juice the piss out of the Duramax because EFILive is only available to DURAMAX owners and the Duramax can take this power, unlike a "powerstroke"
12 valves are becoming a thing of the past in pulling now also from this.
johnnyheyob 4 years ago

I don't need to defend Ford, its a great vehicle, and I've always owned them with no issues.

johnnyheyob 4 years ago

You apparently can not read, or have horrible skim reading habbits.
Next time, post something worth reading.
