I have this exact same cart for my lynx, as well as 17 games. I also have Steel Talons, still sealed in the box. Looks nice with my Nintendo Virtual Boy, and my Earthbound SNES cart, with strategy guide....mmm...the games.
I had both (still have Lynx) and the Lynx was WAY more powerful, but it was absolutely huge, it may be hard to tell from the video, but trust me that thing is a brick!:)
Power aside though, the Game Gear is way better overall in my opinion; better battery life, better selection of games, smaller and lighter, and for some reason the sound seems to be better in most games, though may have been a design choice by the Atari developers to dedicate most of the memory to visuals instead of sound.
@JOESONYNERD I don't think it is that Weird, its only that a lot of people doesn't like it that much,I got one two years ago and it wasn't expensive at all,the difference with the model 1 is that its bigger and the sound is mono, but the sound is very loud on it, louder than anything else, battery life wasn't as bad as I expected, I mean I expected it to drain my batteries in 10 seconds from what I've read on the internet but they last more than I expected although I don't play with it long periods
Very interesting. Can you vouch for the authenticity? I did a quick search on the board manufacturer (B&C Computervisions) and it seems they are some kind of atari specialty place that's still around today. Since most prototypes are only intended for the build team to use or for demo purposes in marketing, very few are typically made. I suspect that maybe the B&C place just got ahold of the rom dump and burned it to an eprom. But I really don't know.
The in-game music is particularly atrocious! Otherwise, it seems like it could have been a decent DOOM clone - and the ability to choose between Human or Predator is pretty neat.
I see this and I see nothing but potential. I owned the Lynx when it came out and it never ceased to amaze me. But, at the same time all it did was sit on my shelf and only really got played when I got a new game.
Stun Runner was awesome, and ALSO really showed off the system.
But, the games on the Lynx never really were able to hold attention, and games make the system.
Very nice, I love the obscure games like this that never made it out. I just watched an arcade vid by merlin196 on a game called "recalhorn" which was never released but looks beautiful. It's a shame that the good ones sometimes never make it out ;(
Awesome! I remember trying out this demo on emulators.. Never seen it run on actual hardware!! The animation's smooth like butter!! The bare naked pcb cart is wicked :)
wow cool!

They must have given up on this game because they spelled 'weaponry' wrong and they didn't want to have to fix it.

At first, I thought that was the Weyland Yutani logo on the actual EPROM underneath the signature at 0:56 - HEH !

The Lynx's design and screen really show it's age. I wonder which is better. Game Gear (I own one XD) or Atari Lynx?
