this says so much more about what working out is like than any other movie i feel. to drag yourself out of bed, get dressed, and step out into the cold all alone takes such motivation, especially when your're first getting started. love this scene the most
This was the art of the first film. Just a guy with some misdirected ambition who caught a break. My Rocky was a local one hit wonder who lived to relish his 15 minutes of fame, like everybody else. The sequels were pure 80's bull$hit.
I know I'm too fucking lazy to look it up, but what street is Rocky running down when the truck delivers the papers, or what building is it at the end of the street. It doesn't look like Independence Hall.
I wore a pair of Converse All-Stars for one day in gym class...they are TERRIBLE to run in. I can't believe they were the shoe of choice for basketball teams, etc...the soles are flat and offer no support.
I was captain of my high school basketball team and I wore a pair for half the season so I know what you mean. They were not kind to my feet, but I still wear them!
Out of all the six Rocky movies I've watched, This is one of the most powerful scenes and Love it cuz it just brings to your senses that You have to prove not only to others, but yourself that you have the power to make something out of yourself and to never ever give up on your dreams or goals you have in your life. I watch this scene to just remind me to keep walking forward and to never give up on all the things I set forth on my life.
this this the best escene in all the 6 movies, since is here when this huble great fighter started, and is here when he start with the perseverance and dreams...

I was 8 or 9 when I first saw this.
I still remember wanting to be like Rocky when I grow up.
Now I'm the one running in the AM, training hard, and battling life's challenges.
The one thing that I got out from the Rocky movies is to never give up no matter how hard the obstacles are in life!!!

@ignoranceandwant I know this comment is over a year old, but that's city hall. The street is market street (on the 12th st. side).
